  • Some of the worst games ever made can actually be surprisingly fun to play. Much like watching Tommy Wiseau's The Room, playing through the likes of Ride To Hell: Retribution, Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing and Night Trap can be twice as funny as a title that was actually supposed to be comedic. Here are 10 Games That Are SO Bad, They're Actually Good

    I used to have Night Trap for the SegaCD. I compiled a list of exact times that you would need to trigger a trap in each different room for the vampires. Later in the game, there's a sequence of rooms that you need to jump to within a second of each other, in order to trigger the trap in time. I beat the game with triggering ever trap perfectly, and saving all the girls. My other SegaCD grand achievement was beating Dragon's Lair flawlessly with zero deaths. It takes 11 minutes to beat the game if you never die.

      Another Sega CD with a female stereotype (Amy Rose) that drags it down from greatness is Sonic CD (a game which I respect more than I like. It’s graphics), and Night Trap really does feel like it has that typical misrepresentation of teenage women (re: damsels in distress and screamers in other ways), or as I’d like to call them, you guessed it, “Amy Roses”. And while it may be an offensive representation for me, I can at least understand their appeal, which in this case, is retro appeal.
      Ah, the mid-1990s was a time to be alive.

  • @yourgameisstupid
    @yourgameisstupid Před 2 lety +27

    My first thought was Two Worlds. The voice acting alone is enough to make the experience entertaining. In fact pretty much everything about the game is just off, but that also makes it interesting to explore (especially since the game puts no barriers on where you can go and what you can do).

      I played it this year and I couldn’t wrap my head around the intent. You get no grasp on the story, you don’t really get to watch any of the scenes, and winning basically requires either a) A guide or b) watching it over and over again until you memorize it. Horrible.

  • @sonicguyver7445
    @sonicguyver7445 Před rokem

    Honestly with Sneak King I don't see any room to complain. It's the equivalent of a Happy Meal prize. The fact I works when you put it in the system doesn't crash the hardware, and doesn't just give you a screen of people laughing at you for trying to play it at all are all points in its favor. Plus the ad campaign it was based on I always thought was funny. The first ad where the King is standing way out in a guy's yard then is suddenly at his window when he looked away for a second was funny. Even how he didn't just give someone food, he always used his other hand to present it to the person.

    Back in the day, I remember playing a racing game, IIRC it was called Race Driving and it was incredibly boring if you played it like the creators intended. However, there were fun things you could do like run your car into a cow and cause it to moo. Another fun thing was running off the road in the loop in the track. You'd see your car flip end over end before crashing. The graphics were way cooler when you screwed it up.

    I was 12 when Duke Nukem Forever was announced in 1997 , so by 2006 I was already 21 and I didn't care about Duke Nukem anymore. I brought Duke Nukem Forever years after it's release in 2011 and It's so horrible that I had nightmares after playing that absolute pile of rubbish.

    I think for the worst kart game I would say M&M’s racing. I had that for the wii, along with another M&M beach party game. (The Game Grumps played the beach party one, not sure about the other.) If you love bad games look them up sometime.

    No love for Deadly Premonition on this list? Even if you set aside the stilted voice acting and script as intentional affectations meant to contribute to the surreal Twin Peaks-esque feeling, the gameplay and stability are laughably bad. The whole thing just comes off so charming, and the story and characters actually go to some unexpectedly poignant places, that it all comes together.
