Rhythm Roulette: Just Blaze (Live From The Sprite Corner)

- In this episode of a Rhythm Roulette, Mass Appeal presents Just Blaze. Fans of music production know Just Blaze for his numerous accolades and contributions to various genres. However, we bet they didn't know Just can create album-worthy joints on the fly. After listening through three randomly selected records and deciding only one of them was good enough to use, Just began to create a soulful and hard-hitting beat with sped-up choir vocals weaving in and out of the track. In the end, he thought the beat sounded so good he wanted to dip from The Sprite Corner to finish it up at his studio.

lord knows i couldn’t have been in that crowd. i would have been losing my mind over that beat 😭🔥
Lord knows 😏
Just Blaze reference? Lord Knows?
Lame crowd
Big facts bro💯💯💯💯💯💯
why didn't anybody in the crowd shout out "JUST BLAZEEEE!" after he finished
Cuz they don kwno sheet about real rap beat
@@bouki749 maybe they're stuck in the moment where they just need to be still....probably drained from experiencing Just Blaze doing his thang!
🔥 🔥.... ok ok ...( maybe?)
Idk...lol....
I just Haad to say something 😆 lol
✌ Peace ✌
Fr fr man
@@bouki749 I know right they did the same thing to manny fresh they all just look like they were lost 😂
They white
I was like “okay, this is hard”….then he added the vocal chops and I ran away. Such a genius touch.
Yeah soon as I heard " I want it BAD BAD". With snare on it. I lost it. I was waiting for it. 3:27
I found the record that Just Blaze played from the one-minute mark!
Its The White Brothers with the record "The Way of Life"
Some of the tracks he played from this record were "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" from 01:20 and "The Way of Life!" from 01:07
The record was published by Savoy Records , as many of you allready knew from seeing the video.
Sheesh, this took many hours of musical rearch, but it was definitely worth it!

yooo thanks, Bless you man
Erlend Schjetne do you know what song the vocals came from ?
devantae blanding if you found out please let me know as well
Youre the mvp
Where is the finished track he started?
Just Blaze is a fucking legend.
Just Blaze is the definition of a producer, not just a beat maker... Dope episode
+Verysickbeats cool seeing you here.
Hey bro I should've known you'd follow rhythm roulette also.
He's both
This dude still has flame
@UnFocuzed Fiction is that good or bad?
Imagine old kanye or hov on this... especially @ 3:29 my god
Seems super awkward to be messing around with sounds and stuff while there's a mostly silent audience of people behind you.
Yea I hate it but I’ve made some of my best beats in front of people, love hate
Young Guru is there too. He's aiight lol. (Made Dead Presidents Beat)
@@YungstarProd Nah bruh if I’m not mistaken Ski beatz made dead presidents
riiight?? 😭
@@YungstarProd that was ski beatz
Not only am i impressed with the beat he made but the fact he did it live in front on an audience makes it even better.
@massappeal Yall have to get Alchemist on here. Yall got some legends already though.
+tinktwiceman Up this!!
Um he didn't really finish it cause he saw potential in the samples so he dipped on us. Guess we'll know in the future, lol.
+tinktwiceman yeah that would be awesome to see alchemist on here!
They need Erick Arc Elliot on here too bruh
+tinktwiceman Yeah they have to get AAAAAAAAAAlchemist! The beat battle between him and Blaze Just kept playing bangers emcees and rappers spit on! Alchemist just kept playing unheard fire beats!
When I first heard this sample . With the beat and how he chopped with the singing /talking melody . I immediately thought Roc-a-Fella . I could hear beans/jay on this.
Too short and seems some producers feel kinda uneasy or a bit pressured because of the live audience.Prefer to watch producers in their personal studio zone with no time restraints.
my FAVORITE Rhythm Roulette in awhile! knew Just Blaze would kill it. sucks that the partnership with Sprite includes SO much censorship though. can't even tell what records they're using, etc anymore.
I know, it really took the soul out of the show. The guests gotta really censor themselves too. I liked seeing the producers in their house without a crowd creepily looking over their shoulders.
Can't even tell what shirt he wearing. 😄
+jjbing3 He a big Lohead, so I'm sure it's something Ralph.
Word!!!
+Ralph L. Baer I'm just saying... They blurred everything out, damn.
this is wild!!!!! One of the best beats of the Rhythm Roulette series. JUST BLAZE legend. 🙏🏻
The best Rhythm Roulette by far. Just Blaze murdered this!!!
go watch "9th wonder" and "stro elliot"
@@driziiD large professor for sure!
This is by far the best rhythm roulette there has been
that beat was so hot much respect for that man
THIS IS LIFE TO ME. HAVING PEOPLE AROUND YOU WHILE YOUN MAKE A BEAT
Anyone else was saying "..juss blAAAAze" ??
lol
I did ...😂😂😂
Giovanni where did this come from?
90% of Cam'Ron songs haha
Giovanni As soon as I read the title 😅
Giovanni One Mariah Carey song and one Kendrick Lamar song LOL
To be there Live is a blessing. He could’ve took 5 hours. I wouldn’t have GAF.
Just Blaze...U LITERALLY SAVED THIS SHOW for me! I was ready to bail on this shitty new format. I'm still on the fence. can't yall do both the old way and new Sprite shit?
+Zayd Shakur the format isnt shitty just the people that was on it lol
what was the old way?
+Bellicose City See any rhythm roulette before they sold out to Sprite four or five episodes ago. This great show went to total shite. They can't even give the names of the records now and we used to see the personal home studios. That was pretty much the whole point. Now they just have a stock setup the DJ may or not not be familiar with.
burmashavetom im pretty sure that was their gear. most of the complaints come from people crying they cant see the records. guess what hip hop was better when no one knew where a sample came from. while its good to see a setup cats think if they use what producer x has they can do the same. then you have apollo brown rockin cool edit.
+Zayd Shakur i guess the bills got to be paid. yea sprite is wack but at least they attempted to do something "cool" with their funds instead of some wack popcorn bolshet
The sprite format is questionable.. i kinda liked the producers creating in their own element better.. Anyone else agree?
+G Weekes Agreed! I like seeing producers working in their own studios.
+G Weekes Right. Didn't even get to see the records he pulled. I hope this isn't the new thing….
Hell yeah where the weed at!! Haha
+G Weekes yeah, my favorite part was the producers chilling in their workspace joking about how terrible the records/covers are... Now you don't even see the records and it seems like the producers are more "performing" instead of doing their natural workflow. Blaze was different though, he just did his thing!
+G Weekes fuck yeah it was way better before
The finished beat brings that Diplomatic Immunity nostalgia with the soulful high pitched tones in the back. Ye in his prime, Heatmakerz and Just Blaze made this sort of sound so timeless, I miss it man.
got chills when I heard the vocals come in
mannnnn that beat is outstanding 👍
That full, soulful Just Blaze sound. Beautiful. 👌 😊
I come back and watch this every once in a while and I’m amazed every time. One of the coldest beats I ever heard! 😭😭😭
i gotta say this is screaming out for Vintage Ghost and Rae
I agree
I heard Jim Jones on the track myself.
LOL the blurring is out of control what a waste of time for whoever had to do that. But of COURSE Just comes up with some crazy shit!
True
You know what that means? You gotta make a beat breakdown of a Just Blaze beat now
+Rustled Jimmies LMAO 😂
+Rustled Jimmies +Sadurz ^^^^ What he said
+Sandurz i knew id find sand man in the comments. i expect some just blaze breakdowns in the near future
"Mom, Dad... I don't want to study medicine anymore. I'm going to be a music producer"
JayBay are you studying medicine or did you become a beat maker/producer
It takes the same amount of time. To learn
Like 6ix
What if j dilla was still alive to be on this
listen to questlove talking about how good dilla actually was, in terms of sample digging, sampling, cutting and all that..
he wouldv killed it 100%
Fuck
you’re finna make me cryyy
#wholeFACT diLLA-dAWG would've killed it 💯 #foreverJDILLA 😇🆙️🆙️🆙️
I liked how the crowd was into him during his creative process. It shows appreciation like they really want to enjoy the experience of a big producer making something.
the man, the myth, the legend. Just never disappoints
This was so dope that it makes me want a Sprite.
They got you doc, they got you! The psire brand entered your subconscious and now you want to buy. THEY GOT YOU.
*sprite brand
@@fruizm that's the joke
crazy focus to entertain a crowd AND produce something like that
Damn I'm ready for a Just Blaze comeback. I'm loving his stuff on the new Snoop.
Yassss !!! Lol y do people think beats take minutes to make? Lol it takes time
shaba labba he also said it took like 10 for jay z public service announcement
Tee Tyme sometimes one beat takes days and other times it take 15-20 min. It all depends on you and yo inspiration at the time
sometimes u can make a beat in 2 minutes or 2 hrs depends on the detail and watchu goin for in it. sometimes u know u need certain sounds and certain instruments panned to the left and or right about levels it depends honestly but its not an easy task period.
Tee WithSuga J Dilla would make a beat in 10-15 minutes. But you're talking Dilla tho..lol the GOAT
Aspiring_sociopath lol yo Dilla was def. One of a kind
@1:18 @3:35 ....You can tell who LOVES doing this by the way they freak the hardware. Out of a couple I've seen so far Just Blaze had to be the most inspiring thus far!
i keep coming back to this vid...i fkin love this beat! just blaze is in my top 5 for a reason!
You Just overkilled this beat. It sounded so damn crisped! straight fire!!!!!
SHOUTOUT To young guru supporting too!
+skywalk365 I know right.
+skywalk365 they sprite dickriders and they probably fit the sprite appearance format
+Justen Williams must have a ton ROC between these two. Yoooo
Justen, I hope to see you in one of these vids man, beat boxin' on one of them joints! One day! Bless!
Selective Observer man thanks!!! Definitely on my bucket list as a music producer to get here!!
@Justen Williams great to see you here. You are the real deal too bro.

Ski beatz already did one,and he killed that.
+Af Twice Don't forget Madlib and Knxledge
Elgolpedeestado10 Thanks for letting me know. I just watched the Ski Rhythm Roulette video because of your post. Ski snapped as I knew he would. That shit was dope.
+Af Twice RZA, man that would be great
***** if DOOM ever does something like this I will eat the mask. The man barely turns up at his own shows
I come watch this video regularly just to see greatness. Blaze just casually dropping the most fire beat like it's nothing. Absolute fire.
Really dope. I've never heard a wack beat from him ever. I can't even say that about ALC who is one of my favs all time
yeah but lets be honest, just blaze stays in his lane as u can see to soul samples.Alc will go for the sample that everyone skips and make it bananas because he is more experimental but in the end of the day u can't compare em music wise they are one of the most consistent producers & beatmakers in our generation
@@babooshot fair enough.
@@babooshot very true. Because when he was playing the first record I thought it had potential and he was like naww
Whomever (@Adam Magrath corrected my grammar, it’s actually WHOEVER) made the decision to drastically alter the format, has/had no clue what made this series so popular, The end result and beat making process was only part of it. Every Producer/beat maker, structures his studio to fit his need, and utilizes it as an instrument itself. Part of the fun was seeing the unique equipment setup, within a particular Producers studio and how he implimented his gear...This feels sanitized, the set, the audience, takes away from seeing the various unique set ups..
ok boomer
OZORIAMEDIA not ok boomer, you are completely correct 100%, need to go back to their old ways, it’s way more organic
@@cooIfooI bro this was 5 years ago what u talking about
*whoever
@@Adammagrath1 Congratulations you corrected my grammar on a post from 5 years ago. I hope you were able to get what you were looking from this correction! There you go, you received my attention for two seconds! Enjoy!
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but right before he stepped inside to do this he got news that Sean Price had passed away. What he did was inspired by him.
you could he was tearing up at certain points in the vid he knew the beat sung pain and triumph...P!! this would be an awesome tribute skng for sean price ryhme in paradise!!
Genius .... No one makes big band music as timeless as Just Blaze. Love how Guru was vibing in the back
By far my fav episode.. so much soul in feeling in this beat ... 💯
Who else was dying to hear jay z say “sounds so lovely” when that beat dropped
Warren Buffett “Esco” would also sound epic.
MEEEEEEEEE
That bOiii went out the galaxy with this one... #justBLAZE 🔥🔥 FIRE, FIRE! *Beavis voice
ME N JUS USE TO BE TIGHT BACK IN THE DAY
"Imma go home and finish this up"
*8 years later*
Sir.
I m looking for it on sporify, this has never been released has it?
Seen this man driving in Delaware not long ago. Salute
it's kinda cool to have people see what producers creative is like in person it's like their own personal BTS of what goes into making a hit, i like this session
Despite how I feel about the sprite format....Just Blaze proved why he's one of the greats. Wtf man...
That was beautiful! His process is so smooth! Legend forever
BEST ONE YET.....and I love how he was just like "oh I guess I'm done....yall want another one"
Musical genius!!!
I was there. Seeing him make a beat like that inspired me to become a better producer. He talked about his life coming up and it was inspiring.
One of my favorite producers real talk,JUST BLAZE!!!!
Love love love rhythm roulette glad there's platforms for those and these. Si freaking dope
the man's a BEAST
This new Sprite format is perfect, crystal clear proof that art and commerce don't mix.
This is my most favorite outta all the rhythm roulettes.
Word. This is one of my favorite episodes. Dude is a beast.
I need to hear the finished complete beat. That shit was too fuego 🔥🔥🔥
2016:🔥
2019: Still 🔥
ME N JUS USE TO BE TIGHT BACK IN THE DAY
Spartan 2020 🔥🔥
You can see the audience attention was in captivity, you could feel the awe and amazement at greatness!
He is purely world-class. Look at how relaxed he is during this process...
BEST ONE SO FAR! alchemist next please!
Somebody at Sprite corporate DEFINITELY knows what lean is. I am surprised somebody at Jolly Rancher hasn't made the connection yet, themselves. LOL
cross marketing
ME N JUS USE TO BE TIGHT BACK IN THE DAY
this was one of the best rhythm roulette episodes I've seen so far.
Juss BLAAAAAZE. He killed it!! Best beat I've heard on rhythm roulette
This beat would resurrect the College Dropout Kanye that we all grew to admire. This Ye doesn't make deep soulful music like that anymore.
you miss the old kanye?
@@rustyj107 Of course, I do. Lol
@@kage5584 Looking back on it now, I agree with you Big Homie.
@@kage5584 returned fam. Bless✊🏾
For every beat that you loved from Kanye he did 20 + you never heard. True artists oftentimes have to evolve. We get to appreciate different eras of their growth while they get to add new fans by evolving their sound palette.
Gotdamn he Just did some amazing shit.. WOW
Wow this is why he's my GOAT. Amazing work on the fly!!!
Love these episodes.love when a dude kills it then got to automatically check his catalogue 🔥 Blaze been murking it since day one tho
Ay you guys gotta get flying lotus on here, that'd be awesome.
Just has always been the best to me, him and Ye.
And timbo
...and Timbo, i agree. what's interesting about Timbaland is that his sound is still being used in hip hop...those syncopated snare and symbols and spinning high hats come from Timbo, Lex Luger got credit for it and he should have some credit b/c he made it super fast and crazy but Timbo really imprinted that in hip hop productions. now its just about out of hand.
Don't forget Premo, Dre
Ye and madlib are greats. Andre 3000 and sweatshirt too
dont forget the neptunes/pharrell as well
At 3:18 thats the epitome of early 2000's chipmunk soul hip hop. Especially when he a turn the pitch on the vocals down. Put a huge smile on my face. I could just hear Kanye or Jay going over that beat.
1 of da BEST producers n da "GAME" !! Jus witnessed him cook crack n record time!! Dis iz da "illest track" created on dis show !!! 💯🥊 ALL RESPECT DUE
My Rhythm Roulette was the last one using the old format. Unfortunately after they hooked up with Sprite, they decided to not release my roulette but they allowed me to show it on my channel if anyone wants to peep the last hoorah of the original Roulette format.
Nevertheless the beat was about to be Incredible, Blaze said he got plans for that one lol.. I ain't mad that he dipped out. Thumbs up if you agree.
This is what you call pure Talent and Creativeness. We should learn from this.
one of the best yall have ever had! I all ready have a maschine he makes me want a kontrol so bad. Dopest sample ever, and good finished product. Guru turn next!
wow. that was some amazing shit
I just noticed Young Guru at 2:47 with the hat.
saw him just as I was reading your comment lol
Best one I've heard/seen so far honestly..
all these beats people make are fire for sure! it takes time to become better each day so dont stress to much if you just started
That beat at the 0:00 mark 🔥 🔥
The Large Pro episode is still my fave but Blaze definitely did hid thing. I can hear Jay all over that.
Wow, wow, and wow. Best one hands down. The man is incredible.
Watching the audience going through it vicariously with him is really interesting.
does anyone know what is the intro song I can't find it anywhere
I'm trying to hear the full beat... I listen to the last 15 seconds about 1000 times
Maiel Deane lol 😂😂😂 me toooo
Jesus this guy is a beast... a simple break into a composition 🙌🏾💥💥💥
If u ever questioned if u have a soul u feel that feeling inside your body when u hear the beat at the end......thats your music soul💯💯💯💯💯💯
Whats the starting beat/song? Can you name the track?
Can we please have download links to the beats. PLEASE!
