Ape Escape’s Platinum Trophy Challenge Is So Much Fun

Join me as I get the platinum trophy for 100%'ing Ape Escape On The Loose! This game was added to playstation plus's classic games somewhat recently and caught my eye.

Im not fully sure but if i remember correctly Ape Escape was the first game to actually REQUIRE the dualshock controller for the orginal PlayStation due to the gadgets only working with the control sticks. This does mean it does have infinite dorections to travel in due to the range being a circle and not a combination of up and down and left and rights. Jumping is done with the R1 or R2 buttons and pressing the R3 or L3 stick buttons makes Spike crawl and then ball up to sneak up on monkeys. Tge reason the shoulder buttons were jump and not X was because even the X was used for a gadget slot. The left shoulder buttons were use to either reset the camera or go into first person view
I really love this game and loved how advanced it was on the orginal PlayStation even if my hands were too small to jump and use a gadget at the time i first played it

The game was probably more “difficult” because it’s the PSP version which didn’t have the dual joysticks to use the gadgets. The PS1 version is so much better, just thought I’d mention this since no one else has in the comments

tbh when you first play a game it feels different than when you play it years later, like playing super smash bros brawl now after you last played it in 2017.

Everyone platinumed Ape Escape 1 (PS5) in like 5hrs and said it was easy. It took me over a year or something like that because I HATED every second of playing it.

@@RY3NO I think it’s a great concept for a game but yeah, clunky, using the stick was bananas to do. Camera sucked. It just wasn’t fun for me. And I only played it because it looked fun. Oddly enough I’m actually proud of the platinum even though it’s not difficult, I stuck it out and finished it.

This Game Is so nostalgic for me I play it growing up in the OG PSP 1 and was lucky to complete it 100% So You know I had to Get The PS5 version and The control are so different So It was A Hard Game To Complete 100% and get Platinum BUT Again was Lucky To Complete For The 2nd time (I think The Hardest Level For Me And struggle with was Specter Land With The Camera Keep Switching Constantly) But Overall Fun Game And Happy To Get Platinum (The Only Game I have Platinum Hope To Get Future Games Platinum But Most Platinum Are Hard But Gotta Love The Grind 😆) oh By The way I got the platinum in 2 days (1st Day Finish The Main Story) Day 2 (Went Back AND got The Remaining Monkeys & Specter Coins & Extra Trophy) oh yeah and catching Specter I Had A Blast 💥 With This Game So Nostalgic
