Nice! I'm buying a house that had 2.5 acres, and I'm looking into how I can mow my yard, and I like your system here. I think this will work for me too.
No, that is not a concern. Not very likely to have an issue that leaves me stranded. Just make sure have enough fuel then take a cell phone with you to call the neighbor if needed.
Ha, yes, you are missing that the mower always stays at the deck. It was only taken out to show the loading deck. Same as how that skid steer is parked there, that is where the equipment stays. When it is time to mow, I transfer onto the mower, chair stays on the deck, till I am done mowing. Park back at the deck and hopefully the chair has not blown off the deck.
I am curious how long you have been injured... I am 3 1/2 years in and still have to use a sliding board. I would love to be able to be that dependent.
@@neemafastcat My injury was August 1985. T 10-11 complete. I have abused my body and I and a big guy, always have been. 6'2" 240. My transfers aren't what they were even 10 years ago. I just bought a compact tractor and loader with Hydrostat controls. I have an overhead hoist and have been contemplating using it with slings. I've seen modified tractors, but those are thousands of dollars.
@@johnpyle8027 a quadriplegic friend of mine chopped down a hay wagon frame so that it was about 5 feet from front wheel to rear wheel and welded it back together. then they braced the axels and built a pyramid out of square tube the pyramid is about 6.5 ft tall I'd imagine. Then they built a pendulum. Pendulum was 12 to 14 foot long, made out of 4 inch, thick walled, square tube, on one end of the tube is a lawn tractor seat with armrests and a seatbelt. On the other side about 4ft in from the end of the pendulum bar is a pulley. At the base of the pyramid is a Warn Winch. The cable goes up and through the pulley on the pendulum and back down to the back of the wagon frame. It sits on 4 truck tires. And with it he can manuver it anywhere with his side by side or yard tractors and when he puts it next to his John Deere he just hits the in spool on the winch controller and it pulls him up into the air. He can get way up high enough to pressure wash the bird dung off the TOP of his tractor cab. You seem like a good ol boy by your lingo and I swear farmers with welders can do more than the engineers if we just put our heads together and share the knowledge. I hope I explained it well and painted a clear picture. Feel free to reply if you need any more clarification. I check my notifications daily.
You have to look at all new models out there. For some of them, the foot control is only a parking brake and a parking brake is commonly not needed because when the machine is not running, it does not free coast. Since you wont be getting off the machine while it is running, just remove the foot control lever.
Chair has no brakes on it. Once you get used to having brakes, you think you need them. Once you get used to not having brakes, you think you dont need them any longer
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this!
This video just solved two of my main obstacles.
Now maybe I won't have to buy a new mower.

More people need to know about this, all your accessible vehicles are great
Sweet, love the ramp idea...
Man your are brilliant. I've been struggling getting on and off my zero turn and here you figurged it out. Thanks so much.
Thank you for making this video. ❤
Super channel. I don't have the use of my legs and right arm so hoyer lift transfer is my option. But you have a great system
What happens if you have issues with the mower out on the lawn? Are you then stuck without your chair? That is a concern

Maybe I'm missing something, but who brings the mower to the deck in the first place?
He says several times that he does it... so I'm a bit confused.?

@johnpyle8027 what kind of overhead hoist were you considering using? I've considered using a gantry crane type hoist to get onto a tractor.
t4 here I welded a u shaped bar upside down to deck then I transfer to deck and use bar and seat to basically do a dip into the seat
You still weld? I was a welder before my wreck and no one wants to let me weld again. I am a T4 complete.
@@feliciamcdonald7275 Don't ever let anyone else tell you what you can do, find your own limitations.
So where do u get a mower without foot controls?

Why wouldn't he put the breaks on ..... On the chair 🤔
That made me hold my breath when he did that!
Braver than me!
