Mk vs DC wasn't the best however I believe its the most important game in the franchise. This is the first game with the story mode we have today, and introduced the DC characters that would later get their own game in injustice.

I would love to see them do a mortal kombat vs injustice universe game. I feel like the injustice universe would just work better paired with mortal kombat, like they wouldn’t have to water down the Superman fatalities for example because injustice Superman doesn’t have a problem laser beaming people through the head lol.
mechanical problem; it'd either have to play like Mortal Kombat or like Injustice (back-to-block vs block button, meter-burn vs enhanced special, clash or no clash), and whichever you picked, fans of the other franchise would be upset
@@possiblymalcolmnot a real problem… fighting game fans are always dissatisfied with something. Sf6 got a fair amount of flak when the roster got leaked(like shortly after it was revealed) and it was just as small as sf5’s roster and missing many highly requested characters, yet it still broke records.
@@kujo4388 Well yeah but the roster of the game doesn't really have an effect on the actual mechanical function; the issue im talking about is that you would either have to have it be a Mortal Kombat game with Injustice characters, an Injustice game with Mortal Kombat characters, or design an entirely new fighting system just to mesh the two together, but then it wouldn't be Mortal Kombat or Injustice and that kinda defeats the purpose; your only other method would be to do what Tekken and Street Fighter tried to do with TekkenXSF and SFXTekken, and have two different games, each with their respective franchises mechanics and by that point, a major American developer like Netherrealm has already scrapped the idea altogether due to resource management and time restraints; I'm not saying the reason it won't happen is because the fans wouldn't be happy, although I'm sure some of them would no matter what as I mentioned before; but rather because it basically can't happen in a way that makes sense to do; it really doesn't need to happen anyway given the state of both franchises and how well they're doing on their own right now; at the time MKvDC released, it was a pretty rough time for both franchises and they both had something to benefit from a crossover, even if that crossover ended up being pretty rough around the edges; in 2023, Mortal Kombat and DC are both in very good places, as good or better than they've ever been; an MKvsDC sequel at this point in time would be impractical and unnecessary

Man, I was so worried you’d rag on this the whole time. Imagine my relief. I LOVED MK vs DC. Underrated IMO and set the stage for what NRS would do over the next 15 years.
The close combat wasn’t just luck my dude, it was literally a rock, paper, scissors mechanic that was a ton of fun! Some of the DBZ budokai games used the same mechanics for fusions I believe. Which was like two or three years prior to this game! So I’m surprised that mechanic didn’t catch on more or get beaten to death like QTE’s
I LOVED this game! It was my first MK, and I was so interested with the universe and the characters, especially seeing them interact with a cast of DC characters I was already a big fan of. This one sent me hard down memory lane.
People definitely need to put more respect on this game. The mini games were sooo much fun and the fact you got to play as both franchising battling it out was sooo cool as a kid. You couldn’t have described it any better!
IMO, I think Injustice 3 should be DC vs MK. Its been over 15 years since we had that crossover which I believe paved the way for the entire Injustice franchise. It would be under the Injustice name, so hardcore Mortal Kombat fans wouldn't need to complain about another T-Rated MK. It could have potentially the largest roster in the history of a Netherrealm game and would be a great game for Ed Boon to direct before he retires.
Glad to hear the love for this idea because I love it as well. We got MK guest characters in Injustice and DC guests in MK…so why not go full out?
I’ve seen people online against the idea because of this game but that doesn’t make any sense to me at all. It’s like when a beginner cook makes you a meal vs a pro chef making you the same meal. NRS are now pro chefs and Mk vs DC in this day and age of crossovers would sell like hotcakes. WB wants their multiverse to succeed like Disney? This is a good way to do it.
Please cover more fighting games! The genre deserves more love. When MK1 comes out hopefully you will cover deadly alliance, deception, Armageddon. Those games get overlooked a lot nowadays imo

I was legit just thinking about how we haven't gotten a flash game yet, it would basically be if sonic and the arkahm games had a baby, and I feel like theres a lot of potential there. The game could also have it's part of the combat that would help it stick out, maybe even add a little bit of time travel to add variety.
The overworld can be different in different time periods but still use the same map 💡

It still baffles me this is MK8 lmao. I remember at the time no brutal fatalities was a huge controversy. It was still cool though and played online a lot.

Speaking of The Flash I've always been obsessed with Flash's yellow gloves. I'm almost certain this is the only design in which he has yellow gloves to match his yellow boots.

It would be cool if there was a sequel to this game and if it had dlc that Spawn and Omni-man came back, they are both comic book characters and were already in previous Mortal Kombat games. Plus, Spawn and Batman have had several team ups in the comics and who doesn’t want to see Omni Man vs Superman?

Man, when I was 14 I wanted an xbox 360 but we couldn't afford one so I got a paper round. For months, I'd wake up everyday at 5am to deliver newspapers before school for £15 a week until I could afford to buy an xbox... I was desperately excited for this title, regardless of getting the Gears 1&2 360 bundle, this was the game that kept me fighting through the South Wales winter mornings to keep delivering my papers and keep saving for that xbox.

As a long time/die hard mk fan this was and still is my least favorite entry. Not only did it fail to deliver a good mk game but it also failed to be a good game. It has NO content. Story is bad but it was expected to be as such, no alt costumes, tiny roster, no single player content, very bland and uninspired finishers, just failed to deliver on every front. Seriously how could you like this game if you remove nostalgia? I see a lot of poor souls say this was their introduction to mk so they love it and it just feels misplaced.

I got two games for Christmas when I got my PS3 MK vs DCU and Naruto ultimate ninja storm. I played those two games to death then for my birthday I got resident evil fiveI played the ever loving shit out of all three of those games for a solid year.
They had a Flash game except it was on GBA. But they didn't even name it Flash. They named it Justice League: Heroes of The Flash. But make no mistake, it's a Flash game.

So I’m gathering from your Bamble, that this has nothing to do with DC universe online just the DC universe of comic book heroes hopefully because there is absolutely no overlap between an MMR PG, and a fighting no overlap at all. One is a button, spamming mass and the other one takes skill knowledge of your combos in your rotation.

I think Mortal Kombat should crossover with Marvel, they wouldn't have to tone down the violence because most Marvel heroes do kill people and usually get pretty banged up themselves
This game came out 15 years ago. DC are very different with their characters now and would have no issue with them being ultra violent. A MK vs Injustice game would show it.
@jsutton0010 before this game was made, DC characters had always been violent, particularly in animation and graphic novels like The Dark Knight Returns, not to mention the 90s where we got stories like Knightfall and The Death Of Superman, let's not forget Batman killed people in his first few stories, so really this game had no excuse for toneing down the violence
