Yeah. I feel like giving your child money isn't THAT weird compared the rest of the videos, plus they wouldn't have known his age. (Minus pearl, but she already would've known bc I headcanon them as siblings)
I think the reason people make them surprised is because before that, Grian said they didn't really want anything to do with him, which is concerning
