    People don't realize the dark side of an INFP. The fascination of the simplest things. The overthinking the critical opinion about one's self. The enthusiasm for something more. The difficulty of making others understand. The trouble of fitting in the norm. The dreamy eyes and sometimes the bitter smile. The faraway look, always in danger of getting lost in the galaxy inside our mind. Full of hope but aware of how the world could be. JUST BROKEN AND LOST......................

    I feel that being an infp gives you a sort of... emotional awareness and intelligence that many people lack. Growing up in a family of big personalities, I’ve always felt a need to play it small. Playing small has given me skills of empathy and observation to see things in people that others would often overlook. I like to think of myself as a “fake extrovert” when I need to be. Feeling it is my duty to be a voice for those who are misunderstood because I know how it feels all too well.

      @canchrper Před 2 lety +10

      Same here. And few people comment on our ability to read others. It’s like we’re psychic. We’re quiet about it but we pay attention. I also speak up for others if I have to. I’m quiet but I don’t like to see others being hurt.

      Hey Nonov great to meet you! I feel you will find people in this little community to really “get you”. Obviously you don’t know at this time all the comments scattered throughout my videos, but I do and I will say yours here is completely relatable - especially for me! Not sure of your age, but for me (38) I was heavily confused like this up until I was about 30 or so. Then is when I started to work extremely hard everyday to start ignoring others (including close family and friends who sometimes are the WORST critics holding you back from your true happiness), and go my “own” route. The problem with us is that we will go to extreme lengths to avoid that criticism and judgment from others that we get “stuck”. These style of famous people videos are exactly my underlying point with chasing your passion. Sure, perhaps you and I won’t be some famous painter written in the history books, but at the same time our creative abilities can take us many places other types can’t go because they just don’t “see it”. The world is much more heavily dominated with the structured non-creative types who show up more often as successful people. This dominance shift has society idolizing people like them and also propels those close to you to grab your foot and pull you back down from the clouds when you start going on your creative hard to explain paths. INFPs don’t particularly care about money / status power which is why our type is said to be the lowest paid out of all the 16 types. Doesn’t mean we can’t be high paid etc it just says that we value other things in life that the majority doesn’t. I had my share of childhood traumas as well which I feel just gave me the ability to really dive deep early on and hone in my processing skills for who I am and what I want. The ones chasing the money etc typically are far behind us with truly knowing who they are as they just fall into line with the majority which they have it easier regarding life path criticism because they aren’t up in the clouds as much as we are. A lot of what my mission is on this channel is to try and awaken / motivate types like us who have been suppressed for a long time to where we aren’t sharing our gifts with the world. Before starting this channel a year ago you would never find me on many pictures and definitely not on video. However, I have found that it is a very creative outlet for me and the video editing part - again very creative elements can be harnessed. I still to this day get stung with my crazy CZcams venture as it being a waste of time from others. I haven’t been paid a single penny for it which there is money to be had I’m just not there yet and doing this primarily for other reasons. If the conversation arrises with another non-creative type about this path I’m chasing for myself “I make CZcams videos which takes up a BUNCH of my time and don’t make any money” what do you think their response is going to be... yes, that I’m an idiot. However, that’s the stings you just have to expect will come and just KEEP moving in “your” direction. The more I go “my route” the more happier I become. It’s not “easy” by any stretch, but it’s just something you have to do to not one day way later in life look back and realize you missed out on sharing your creative gifts with the world. The world is very gray, and types like us need to color it up a bit!

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +15

      Hey Bena - unfortunately friends and family can be the most difficult in between ourselves and happiness. On one hand they want to protect you from the scary unknown (they have good intentions in mind) that our minds can conjure up that others just “can’t see”. And the other aspect is they just have first hand access to you so they can get in your ear easier than most casual passerby’s. I have had to move many friends and family out of my circle because I just couldn’t move forward. It’s hard to think of removing a family member, but if anyone becomes a toxic person around me I will not put up with it and do what I have to do. Seems cold and mean, but a lot of times that’s just what needs to happen...

      Yeah Kurt was one I always had that really close draw to, and like you said was pretty neat to see why. I agree that the world is filled with pressures essentially everywhere we turn to get us to be something we are not. We do play the game to avoid hearing it all, but for types like us it’s really important to be true to ourselves which is where that happiness is more plentiful. However, when we start braving that road it actually seems like life gets harder because the chatter gets louder.. I have just found that the older I get I try to just enjoy the things I want to. People will always come with their opinions no matter what, but I just know that life is getting cooler and cooler as I go nowadays.... I feel my path was around the same time to where my 20’s I still was heavily trying to piece everything together, and coming into my early 30’s (38 now) I started to just accept things more and more year after year. It’s honestly liberating to just openly like the things in this life “you” like and not just what society expects you to like! When you start going down that path (your path) that your gut intuition is guiding you things can get really cool! It’s scary and surely you will incur some stings along the way but you can’t learn to path correct towards your own happiness without those leaps of faith and the failures that can come with. It’s a slow process, but I try everyday to open up a little bit more, gain new experiences, and just live life through again, liking the things “I” like. That’s where it’s at man so keep on that journey - most figure it out MUCH later in life....

      Hey girl! Yeah I feel ya on that. Honestly for me my switch happened when I turned 30. Not that I knew what I wanted specifically in life, but that all those years of processing what I wanted and didn’t want helped me to direct a different path away from what society always told me I “should” be doing. So when that began over the years things just started getting slowly better and better the more I chose my way. Obviously for me I’m on this CZcams stuff and a year prior to getting on this platform if you would have asked me about ever being a CZcamsr I would have said “NEVER in a million years”, BUT somehow it happened. Not saying you yourself are destined for CZcams as well, but I believe if you just keep paving down your own individual path separate from what those around you are saying then “something” will randomly open up for you that will make complete sense as right now you still have that “what am I supposed to do” lost feeling. I wish I could help give you a direct answer, but I honestly just believe for us we micro experience so many short lived things that ultimately all those experiences help clear up to a bigger picture later in life... So yeah, I’m not saying my destiny in life was to be a CZcamsr even though I enjoy it at the moment, but I do know that it is something that is helping me get to more experiences regarding that path direction. I have plenty of people saying I’m dumb for wasting all my free time on CZcams and not making any money from it, but I just ignore the critics staying on my like train to somewhere I still have no idea where it takes me...

      @@INFPHD Hey Sean :) Actually I am a guy :D My name is Marcin (Martin in eng). Im from Poland. Thank you for your comment. I have always felt that some day in the future I will get on track with my life and when I do I will blossom. I am still deeply confident about that thanks to inner fire I have always felt within me. And when I turned 30 I started to understand that i shouldnt give a fck about what other people say and what they know I should do... Ye, other people always know the best what is right for you, damn it's so annoying. Nevertheless, for now, I am deeply sad and frustrated, angry, scared and so on. However, I found out about a week ago that I am INFP and I have been feeling slightly better with myself since than. I feel that this is the beginning good... and something great is going to happen sooner or later.

      Yeeeeeeah I really need to stop assuming if it’s a guy or gal I’m talking too as I’ve been mistaken already a few times lol. So apologies and nice to meet you SIR 👍🏻
      That’s cool you’re from Poland! I have a colleague at work with the last name of Kosakowski who I love hanging out with. He’s actually an INTJ who is extremely smart, but so lacking in the feeling department that I give him crap for lol. No but yeah we get along really good!
      Yeah I found MBTI when I was 30 and it really opened up a huge pile of information to dive down and explore. ENNEAGRAM is also another avenue to explore that compliments MBTI however it’s a different system altogether to play with. I still have my rough chaotic INFP days don’t get me wrong, but I know that when I got that better sense of me being OK and not just some weirdo sense from MBTI it essentially empowered me to start going further and further down my own life path that society always up till then kept me from going. Now I’m 39 and I will say my excitement for my life going forward is getting better and better by the more I just stay true to myself...
      Just takes time and the hard times are an important process to go through where the rewards from those difficult periods help strengthen you honestly!

With elements of an almost childlike enchanting fairytale combined with the dark elements of adulthood mixed in at the same time.

Also just to add there is no actual measure of brilliance or creativeness so we can not clearly define what brilliance is enough to measure it and judge who is the most. • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah my work life has always somewhat forced me to be social even if I obviously would prefer not to be. Those times can be difficult to overcome, but it does help break that INFP comfort shell of staying safe in the shadows. I still try to get to those shadows as fast as I can, but when I’m doing my necessary socializing it helps ease the burden of not being able to outwardly share the craziness that’s lodged in my head that typically “I” only get to enjoy. This is where I randomly stumbled upon CZcams about a year ago (watched content for years just never created anything). It came from dabbling in work videos and my enjoyment I get from helping / training others. Peers would sometimes tell me I should be a vlogger which back then didn’t really know what that meant, but it had me look into it because why are these people telling me this? To me it was just “doing my thing”, but in the end it got me here where I actually find creative enjoyment even if it’s on this social media vulnerable platform that pretty much ALL social media I strayed away from prior. Unlike yourself I’m not a writer (well I write a ton just not books etc.) and not very musically inclined. However, the videography / editing process is more of where “my lane” is and what I want to keep exploring. I think it’s very important for types like us to find “that thing”, but then ALSO present it to the world. I have those perfectionistic tendencies and not a fan of criticism which can heavily stall a person from getting anything out, but when you can better look past those things and just “make stuff” things can get pretty cool!

    And Chris Martin.. I remember hiding away in my room as an anxious teenager. Listening to the Coldplay Parachutes album... and feeling it like a soothing blanket over me... even when I went outside.. on went the headphones... his words are like a salve to the soul of an INFP. ❤ 😢 this world is so cruel and we feel it so deeply. And all we want to do is love our way out of hell....❤

    WELL DONE.
    We are dreamers which can come across as being nieve... but we also see things and are willing to take the risks for the life we know we deserve (in every aspect) because we couldn't live with a self constitution of not knowing what could of happened if we didn't jump for the things we have overthought about. With big risk sometimes comes big reward and we are realists in knowing there is also pain in the falls... but they are never perceived to us as failures because "being all in" in our choices is never a fault... it's a virtue in a world of people who live a shallow life that don't face their fears or what society deems as foolish. Because in the end... living is a choice and so is simply existing...and that's something we could never do. And that's what makes us "weird" to the normies.

    As an INTP... I wish it was different, but if Colbert is one, I am willing to go to any camp that would have me. He is such a shallow, wretched, self congratulatory, mercenary, amoral... Few people make my skin crawl the way he does.

    George Martin is not a INFP. He is a INTP imho. Its fascinating to compare and contrast the cynical political games of Game of Thrones with the whimsical spiritual themes of Lord of the Rings. Nicely illustrates the differences between INTP's and INFPs imho. (Note I love both writers and their universes)

    • @INFPHD
      @INFPHD  Před 5 lety +4

      The plus side is that my "Mormegil list" got significantly smaller from the Volume 1 video!! lol :)
      So again, just having some fun with these and my main hope is just painting a relatable INFP message through choice content I dig up.
      My method for who makes the cut and who doesn't:
      1. If the "majority" of sites on the first Google page come up with that person being an INFP then they have a chance.
      2. I have to personally like the individual obviously.
      3. I have to find content that speaks to me (this part takes AWHILE sometimes to find clips....).
      Prior to editing this video I had no idea Mia, Tom, and Chris were INFP's they just went through the same above process. When I get to number 3 it's actually pretty fun going through all the content as even just their mannerisms are relatable when watching them in different settings. George made the above criteria and was also a recommendation from a fellow INFP so in he went. Many sites do say INTP as well, but until "I" actually sit down and have a beer with these people I just have to go off my method. *Neil made it in this one in part from above and also "your" recommendation from the last video so thank you!
      Hope it's not raining over there in England for you! I lived there for 4 years and although was a BEAUTIFUL country - the weather was indeed pretty gloomy..

      @INFPHD  Před 5 lety +1

      No worries lol!! It's expected that more opinions will follow as well. Just says that your Fi is strong which I know first hand how that works so it's fully understood!!
      I'm simply not targeting a claim to be some professional accurate celebrity typer - just the message it allows me to paint is all. I think I'm going to go "Fictional INFP's" on the next one so if you have some recommendations feel free to throw them my way and I'm sure some will make it in the selection process...

      @@INFPHD Oh yes! Well of course Game of Thrones is very much in the news right now since its ending and it has two excellent and interestingly different INFPs in it: Samwell Tarly, the main heroes ever loyal best friend, and Daenerys Targaryen, the perfect example of a INFP turned into an unstoppable fanatic.

      It’s all just subjective with how “you” see it. Everyone is going to have different opinions of famous/ characters we don’t truly know. “CZcams Sean” is not me 100% of the time by any means, it’s just a small timeframe. I commonly get people typing me as something else, but only I and those close to me know my preferences which are that of an INFP.
      I can’t throw a new character into an already posted video, but do know others would like to see a “Volume 3” video so I’m slowly compiling a list to one day make. I will dig through more of his content (specifically interviews) and see if “I” can get a majority feeling INFP vibe from him.
