I watched the documentary on Netflix called “the return of Tanya Tucker”. I grew up in Texas and continue to live here and she was my favorite country and western singer ever. Her last award was in 1994! Well-deserved ! I’m very happy for her 🎉one of the greatest of all time

Tanya Tucker's music and life story has been such a huge part of my life as I idolized her as a child. It was more than deserved. I love how Brandi Carlisle KNOWS what a big deal this is, and how excited she is for Tanya. What a special moment. It may or may not have made me tear up a bit.

And she sang that song in her best Tanya gravelly voice! Love it. One of a kind. I remember her and her first hits. We all went, wow, what a kid. She was against the grain. She had vibrato like no other when she was 14. Incredible sound.

I am so thrilled for Tanya. I used to be in the country music industry and she was always a hoot. Thanks to her I gwas ablet to go to Willy's ranch with Merle Haggard! (as a friend). It's a great song, It's a true country song and I'm shocked that the Grammys gave the award to the most deserving person ever! Congratulations Tanya and I sure wish they hadn't cut the twins off before they made their speech!

One of the best things I've seen in a long time. I don't get caught up in the world of entertainment but I found myself actually saying a little prayer for Tanya for this win these Grammies. Her CD is amazing! The first country album I've listened to in years. Love live you Tanya!!

Back around 1973 or 74, Tanya performed at the Miss Gaines County contest, in Seminole Texas. The price for tickets was $5 for back section and $10 for front. I had a $10 ticket so I was on the front row center. A lady came and sat in the seat to my left, since we were the only ones in the $10 section. The lady was Tanya’s Grandmother. She was a sweet lady and to sit next to her at the concert was fantastic. I really wish I could remember her name.
I remember that the Miss Contest was first then LaCosta was Tanya’s opening act. I had two records by LaCosta, so this was a double treat. (45s: “I Wanna Get to You" & “Get On My Love Train”) It still is a very fond memory to go to a Tanya concert, sit by her Grandmother, enjoy LaCosta, and then enjoy Tanya’s show.
It was so amazing to see and hear Tanya live. She sang all her songs I had been looping on my 8-track in my 1972 Cutlass. She even did an Elvis segment; she was such an entertaining young performer. After her concert and the final encore, I went up stage and met LaCosta and got her autograph. She was a very polite and friendly person. I asked her about a forthcoming album and she said Capital was waiting to see how well her singles did. I wish I had brought her 45 singles for her to autograph. I didn’t have anything else so I had her autograph my Miss Gaines County program.
Looking back now - this was 1974. I am now 65 years old.
I had brought the album cover of “Would You Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)” for Tanya to autograph. I wasn’t sure if she was going to do an autograph, but I had asked her Grandmother if maybe she would let me get an autograph, she said “sure Tanya will”.
After I got to meet LaCosta I then met Tanya. I was so impressed by her stage performance, she was just 15 or 16 but what a professional. I think I was 20, but Tanya was so mature you would never think she was so young, and she was a small child. She was a small child with a huge stature.
I will always remember that night - and I still have my signed Tanya Tucker album cover and my signed LaCosta program. To meet their Grandmother was just icing on the cake.

I watched this unfold on Brandi's social media. Hollywood couldn't have written a better ending. I love all of them and have for many years. Both are pure at heart and it shows. If you aren't following Brandi's new all girl group you are missing out, so get on that!

Its strange how one beautiful song can come out of nowhere and steal the top spot and take home the grammy. wow what a huge talent this woman is and has lived a life like no other. Now I would love to see a movie made about Ms Tuckers life and career through the years. Kinda like a coal miners daughters movie and I'd be the first one in line to buy my ticket. I am now a life long Fan of TT. good job !!!

I don't listen to Country, but even know who Tanya is. Can't believe it took 40 years for her to be recognized.
I Once ferried her and her manager on a Boston whaler to a treasure diving boat of the coast of ft pierce florida...they were both hitting coke lines hard the whole ferry run over.. once onboard the mother ship, she put her scuba gear on, and was rip roaring to go treasure diving, lol......wild child is right...lol
