    Ford Full Synthetic 5-W30 is the best oil for this engine period. It's good for 18 months / 10,000 miles. The quart bottle are available at any Ford dealer and pour directly into the engine. Install the Fumoto drain plug with the valve in it and drain directly into gallon jugs with no oil catch pan needed. You can also buy a kit to drain the oil filter into tube and into a jug as well. Check for the gasket on the old filter. Fill the new filter with oil and install. Write down the milage and date. You're done. Check the moisture level in the brake fluid. Flush if it is too high.

    Hi Izzy and MJ! The adjustable Garage Boss oil pan removes the need to have to clean oil off the frame from the drain plug and oil filter. Also, a Fumoto oil drain valve with the hose extension can also help. And, creating a hole in the bottom of the oil filter with a screwdriver drains the oil out so it's less of a mess when changing the oil filter. Hopefully a couple of useful techniques for your readers.

    Due to the positioning of the oil in tack pipe,ge making the use of funnels impossible, I suggest purchasing an inexpensive, battery operated siphon pump. Just a thought. I do delight in your presentation, no wasted time or baloney. Thank You.

    Why didn’t you loosen your oil fill cap before draining your oil ? The oil will drain faster if you remove your oil filler cap ...I have changed my oil my Ford Triton V-10 many times I find that Walmart has the best prices on oil and oil filters then Pep Boys.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  Před 4 lety

      Richard Slider never loosened the oil cap filter didn’t know that would help although the oil comes out pretty quick.

    Keep in mind Amazon “Synthetic” oil is not synthetic. It is distributed by Warren Distributers and is named Supertech Dexos. It is a type 2 oil that is highly refined and hydro cracked to perform better and is LEGALLY allowed to call itself a synthetic oil. Many oil companies do this but you need to be aware that not all synthetic oil is the same or even a true synthetic base stock. True synthetic oil type 3 and 4 will out perform this oil by a long shot but will be priced higher. I would use a higher grade synthetic in a Motorhome with a gas engine just because I would put the best I could get. But the oil you picked is capable of doing the job, so all is good. Just thought you should know it’s a average at best oil and is lower in quality then you may have been aware.

    can't you just go to a Ford dealership for this? Or any private garage that I'm certain would be cheaper than a "rv" service center....? I'm asking because as a future single female rv'er, I'm not sure yet if I wanna deal with this.

      Just had my oil changed at a Ford Dealer in CA and yes, it was $250. Since this was our first oil change, I decided to have Ford do it as well as some other routine inspections. After watching this video, the next oil change will be all me!!

      We have been trying to find a Ford dealer they can fit our nearly 40 foot camper in their parking lot in order to do the oil change. We’ve been unsuccessful. So I will be doing this oil change myself at the resort.
