Thanks for the guide! It's a bit too late for me (trying to clear 300 for Wind, surprisingly cleared Flame 300 first, 287 on Thunder), but this will be useful to others climbing. I'm a low spender, mostly Travel Perks and two Legendaries, with a few grants here or there.... Was going to buy Fashion Ken and Sakura during the half anni, but I'll have to see if I still feel like spending money on this game around year 1 anni when they're likely on discount again. I bought the Summer Elena grants, and my desire to spend at all was heavily soured shortly after that by how hard they gated the Master/Infernal towers, so I lost the urge to buy Ken and Sakura when they were discounted... and am still flip-flopping on the Oni grants because of it. I just recently hit limit break 345, which let me push from Thunder 254 to 287 after being Bison-gated for a couple weeks (Flame was cleared at 340, and I cleared Wind 299 at 335). We are pretty much in full agreement on the most optimal Wind team, but I do have some things to add about my own experiences in all three towers. I think the world is entirely different for those who managed to get Vergil's EX Move versus those who didn't. I was lucky enough to clutch it out on the last day of the Vergil event. Was initially not even going to pull for it as this was deep in the "No point in pulling for collab stuff if you arent't gonna shell out a bunch of cash to raise them up" era of SFD, but saw Stupendous make a post about how busted it was and cashed in half of my saved up scrolls for it. A solid tech team for Wind is actually to swap out Abel for Chun and let Beast Zang face tank. Squishy though he is, I've been able to keep him alive with Chun and Guile both wearing War Dance on teams where I needed more meter but could sacrifice a little damage/survivability, which are usually teams with OG Cody in them. This lets me stay far ahead of the meter race, either using Chun's C3 for solid damage/massive meter or going in for the kill/major damage with Guile. That got me past floor 232 when I was still somewhere between 310-320 and became my goto anti-Cody team in the tower. It's a bit more RNG-dependent based on if Cody manages to stun someone and who, but it can pump out a ton of meter for interrupts so it can start rough but man does it snowball to finish strong. Of course, Abel was only at 2 cars at the time, so I was lacking quite a bit of shielding. The twins were also still below SS so I didn't have access to their fighting spirits yet back then, so I imagine it would be even more insane with all of those batteries working together. Flame i struggled for a bit pre-200. Deejay and Hugo were still at A+ at best, so I often had to choose face-tanking with Decapre or Fei Long as a frontline Fast Chanter since my tanks would just die anyway and I wouldn't have first strike to show for it. I've actually taken a liking to frontline Dudley with Fast Chant now that he's built, and he got me my clears for floors 297-300. His parry actually let him survive Mad Ryu's Super at 297, so he could stall a little longer for Sim and Viper to murder the enemy team. I actually am iffy on Mayor Cody as an assist for Flame Tower depending on the stage. Sometimes the target you want to focus just doesn't have high enough ATK for him to be as effective. Dudley's assist has come in clutch during some of those situations, protecting one of your DPS while also contributing to damage for the follow through. Summer Yang was singlehandedly the best thing to happen to that faction. Sometimes, him frontlining with fast chant is all the Flame Tower tanking/first striking I need, so every now and then I put him in the front and someone else in the back. Also, I am glad my suspicions about Adon are echoed here. He is probably the most "Good on paper" fighter in the game, but man is he trash. He's probably one of the most obnoxious enemies to fight on CPU teams in story/tower, but even when he's 100+ levels higher than my team I can tell how fragile he is, so I knew he couldn't be all that great on my own teams, and I hated suffering through him in Draft when he was one of the three fighters I got for the Flame team objective. Talk about a strong kit wasted on such subpar stats. Thunder Tower is brutal and way more swiss-army-knife-dependent if you don't have 6-Car Gief and/or 6-Car Blanka, but SP40 Mad Ryu and SP40 Honda (arguably a much less expensive investment) make a world of difference in that situation. Mad Ryu isn't great, I agree, but his C2 is really useful for progression, so much so that I did push him to SP40 just to give it a little more oomph. Mad Ryu is my goto choice for swatting enemy Giefs and Hondas out the way so my actual DPS can do their jobs, and his C2 trivializes enemy Abels, Deejays and Blankas as well. I don't see the point in using his assist for Zangief, though, as Gief's C2 damage scales off of DEF not ATK. Since Gief is not at 6 cars, I much prefer Honda over him except for heavy group elemental damage encounters. My usual team for progression has been Poison, Elena, Mummy Sim and Honda, where I will switch in Gief or Mad Ryu as needed.
Nice video i learn new things watching your vids everyday even tho i started the game a week or 10 days late but still am stronger then day 1 people i am struggling with the ⚡ tower rn but with the strategies you told us now i will hopefully finally be able to pass the 250 threshold i am at 300+/- on wind and flame. Anyways stay frosty or stay warmy depending on the weather.
I didn't believe people when they said thunder faction needs help until i started thunder towers or used them in trials with thunder only teams and saw how much struggle it was on even basic modes.

bison is countered by backline killers like viper akuma guy and fashion blanka ... or by bison killers like zangief oni eryu and the freeze from dante ... if bison is frozen his passive is disabled and can be killed during his immunity
Tried out your team, but I'm really struggling with thunder. By far the worst faction. Currently stuck at level 238 with Guy destroying everything while Honda protects him. There's really something missing with this faction
this is why poison is OP ... she dashes back when the enemy guy starts so he miss all his attacks on her ... we all use that strategy for guy ... we wait until he start his animation and use poison super
Need your opinion... As a F2P whos good overall in events, bosses, PVP. Between 2 fighters MH Ken or Vergil. I'm thinking MH Ken is better. I have 3 chaotic stars and MH Ken is A also vergil is A too. I'm thinking to start building one them.
there is no doubt that GMKen is superior ... he buffs debuffs interrupt and deal massive damage plus he is a trigger fighter ... so you are on point 100%

I'm blocked in thunder tower lvl 254 with Makoto, Bison, Helena and Poison. I kill Makoto easily but Bison protect Helena and Poison and i always go to the time Up. I've try all combination and can't pass this level. I'm level 367, Zangief, Blanka, Helena, Honda, Mad Ryu are 5 stars, Combat Guile 4 stars.... Poison is only 1 star.... Someone have a solution please ?
Hey Pika, so I’m stuck here in regular tower 485 against Hugo, bison and rose. The problem is bisons explosion, it nearly wipes out my team in the beginning of the fight, and if I’m lucky to get past that, the next time he explodes from death surely wipes out my team. Im level 349 and 18 mil power. Am I just too low level to with stand bisons attack? I have a full maxed out e ryu but the Hugo is in my way of the bison… so can’t really execute him either… Any tips man?
yes it took me a few tries ... i never played bison on my team on that stage ... i actually used the guile beast team and used OG Zangief as a tank since he reduce soul damage so the explosion of bison doesn't hurt as much or at all anymore ... and i used beast to stun and kill hugo 1st then when he is gone i rush bison and use OG zang c2 to kill him "having him with 6 cars ofcourse" and then i use all the ex heals i have and elena was the c1 support for heals so i can continue ... and i never miss timed or run out of combo meter since the yun and yang are my assists back then at SS rank +5 on their fs ... try and let me know please what happened!
Ok I have faced such situations before, I think of couple of solutions to tackle this scenario, 1. Use ex Virgil move when he's about to explode 2. Use Abel C1 it gives you shield 3. Use e Ryu / hugo ex move to reduce damage or get shield 4. Use toxic love ex move to switch the Hugo and get it killed by his allies 😂 and than bison is all yours to negate his passives by borrowing e Ryu Good luck let me know if that worked for you 👍

Tried toxic love and do manage to get the Hugo, however the bison explosion kills the Hugo and my middle and back unit, leaving bison and my tag left lol seriously such a pain. The crazy potato he just blasts through it like I never even used it so… yah 😅 Feels like I need about 10 more levels for more HP so I can potential survive the explosion… I’ll def have to try the Virgil ex and see, haven’t utilized that one much at all. Maybe I can get past the first explosion and is enough for me to kill the rest of the units… 🤷♂️

Now the question is you either just cleared the stage recently where your teams are on level 367/69 because there no way in hell your team will survive the first blow of bison in the begining without abel assist and you use Elena's c1?? 😂😂 like how could she even survive the blow as she comes in front in begining. I am not saying this because I have something up against you the team you mentioned As above, I have fully maxed out Guile bz og zangief and one car away for 6/6 and on elena. I wanna know how your team survived the first blow of bison in the very begining of fight as you're using both yun/yang as assists. So please enlighten me, please please pleasee. The bit on adon was great, he does suk. I remember sum1 when i 1st started was tellin me to invest in him, he becomes a beast. 😹😹😹so glad it fell on def ears. But i do have to argue lil on f2p vs p2p. Its 2different stratagys on gamestyles but both are fun imo. To be a good/great f2p u need to learn and understand the game mechanics and how to make the most out of what was given to by the game. Its more rewarding when u do beat those lvls your not supposed to and been stuck on for weeks . P2p is more brute force if a mega whale or dolphin. Theres less stratagy learned and involved in game because they bypass that part which is fine also.

it needs max poison and 6/6/ on blanka and elena and zangief they just sweep all opponents till 290 it starts getting hard and need just good timing

you need to use zangief c2 on bison and have zangief 6/6 cars this is how we kill bison so easy
