Absolutely one of my all-time favorite Jon Anderson songs. Beautiful and yet haunting. So happy that Jon is releasing all of these songs with visuals. As a lifelong fan this is really great for me. It was nice to see that this timeless wonderful song was put up for viewing and listening today.
I love seeing Jon’s music put together with Ballet. I’ve been saying for years the 2 go together and could boost ballet to an audience of younger and different people. As well as get Yes/Jon music out to Ballet audiences. I am in my early 50s now but took ballet early on. When I became a “Yes” fan I saw ballet dances in my head. I’m no choreographer but I would make up dances while listening to Yes & Jon’s solos in my living room. This video to the music is just a dream come true. I hope this trend continues.
Not long ago - maybe a year ago (which I guess is a long time ago... which is I guess the point of the song) I was sitting in a cafe in Shanghai, and this song came on my playlist... perhaps it was the setting or the chill in the air or all the to and fro going on in the background of my life at the time, but in that moment I was totally overcome with how beautiful this piece of music is. I wrote the outline to a story and shared it almost immediately with a friend who is a videographer and director of short movies; she insisted that I finish writing it and try to turn it into something. But I associated the writing with the beauty of the song and couldn’t give it up. I’ve said this in comments to Jon’s other postings (assuming that it is in fact him behind this nostalgic deluge): everyone in the muso-blogosphere wants him to get back together with the group he lead from 68-80, 83-88, 91-2008... frankly (and realistically) knowing that there are not too many more times to ‘let the weary come one more time around’ I’d rather see Jon revisit Jon and Vangelis. My bet is that a tour of Jon and Vangelis could be as big as an ABBA tour... and it would give all of his fans (hint - you are reading these comments to make sure that there are other people who feel the same way you do) a precious, precious gift. And if I could have that one thing, I’d ask and want for nothing more from the entire musical industry.
This song is one of my all-time favorites. That said, I highly recommend listening to it in context--that being the Vangelis album "Heaven and Hell." While the work can be somewhat challenging to hear, perhaps even a stressful listen, "So Long Ago, So Clear" becomes an exquisite release of tension culminating the journey through "Heaven and Hell."
Vangelis for ever.
Once, we did run How we chased a million stars And touched as only one can Once, we did play How the past delivered you Amidst our youth we'd dream away, away As if I knew the words I'm sure you'll hear Of how we met as you recall so clear Once, we did love Long ago how did I forget Holding you so closely Look, how I move Chance would have me glance at you To know how you move me, me All barriers fall around us as we hear Of memories known and matters so long ago, so clear Once, we did run How we chased a million stars And touched as only one can

One of Jon's most evocative vocal performances I think. I've loved it since Heaven and Hell was released.
So heartbreakingly beautiful...
Sweetie! I think of you every day.
I am a wretched man
I miss you
😟
Still my all time favourite song that you done with vangelis. The most underrated and overlooked duo whom for me has had a huge impact
Oh thank you Jon
It's just what I needed, after hearing what Borris Johnson has said on this evenings news.
Things don't seem so bad now.

Thanx Jon & Vangelis! It is so beautiful!
Bello
So beautiful
One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. Off my LP heaven and hell 1975, I think it was.

This was the song that made me get over being dumped by a girl. R.I.P. Vangelis.
Damn 😢 so sorry

Thank you. It was so long ago, so clear. Married another, fathered two children and now divorced. That’s life.
This makes me think of my late wife, RIP baby.
This is original song and this is so beautiful, that breathtaking!

Heavenly bodies move at incredible speeds, but due to there distance seem stable.
Love is a lot like that.
It was the first time I've listened Jon voice.
The word "unique" is oft bandied about recklessly. Not so when applied to Jon's voice.
Thank you for these uploads they are beautiful.
Simplemente maravilloso.¡¡¡
True gentle love. Heavenly...
Harmony in ballet, peaceful appearance, there is nothing to add.,

Yes!! I love this song!
Muito lindo
Chorando muito aqui. 😭💓
Once, we did run
How we chased a million stars
And touched as only one can
Once, we did play
How the past delivered you
Amidst our youth we'd dream away, away
As if I knew the words I'm sure you'll hear
Of how we met as you recall so clear
Once, we did love
Long ago how did I forget
Holding you so closely
Look, how I move
Chance would have me glance at you
To know how you move me, me
All barriers fall around us as we hear
Of memories known and matters so long ago, so clear
Once, we did run
How we chased a million stars
And touched as only one can
cool...
Reminiscent of "Loved by the Sun".
Belíssimo!!!
So Long Ago,So Clear maybe it's time to continue with a friend because time is running out ...
Poetry is a now a thing of the past
Felizzzz ani,versariii
RIP Vangelis
😂fabulso de los ángeles
How you guys didn't win 100 Grammies for your work is a real mystery.
Vangelis for ever.😞
Looking for the song with the same ballet couple...
Jon! Que de souvenirs!
RIP Jon Anderson. Gone too soon.💔💔💔
Shut up! He is still alive...
The song and the background are great but the guy in the codpiece and tights is spoiling the ambience for me.
Linda….
