    This is the most "bro, just like go do the thing"
    I know he explains it, but it's like "you just go do it"

    I think the pump is important, but dont forget the uper body position. If you do a left turn to do the air, the left shoulder should turn to the left before you lift your feet and knees to the left to do the air. You can practice airs under the coping to. It's not necessery to fly over the coping right away.

    As you can see at the top of the quater the ramp is almost 90 degrees to the floor. When you aproach the quater and jump off regularly, you get out of the quarter, you fly foward. The point of pumping is not to fly foward out of the ramp. Like you actually jump from the quater. If the top of the quater is 90degree and you push off from it then you wont get out: l ->
    But remember not to push off the quater to hard because then you will jump too far away and wont get back to the quater.

    U get rly big speed, use momentum the best u can use it, and do the pump the hardest u can. But remember it's for experienced skaters, and also it takes a lot of time before u gonna start trying super big airs, First learn the techinic, balance and confidence and then try SUPER HIGH ;)

  • @ZeroXBreak

    You're not supposed to jump actually, you're supposed to pump as you reach the bottom of the quarter, and the pump + the faster you reach the quarter pipe = the more air you will get
    For the example, it's like going down a slope with a big drop at the end. Even if you don't jump when reaching the end of the slope, you'll still falling down, and the faster you went the further you'll crash
    It's quite the same here, but you'll have to pump in order to "convert" the speed in air time

      OnRainyDays If you don’t jump you’re going to go flying forward out of that ramp

  • @remekbrat
    @remekbrat Před 11 lety +1

    And btw even though u will be using full power of ur legs, biggest speed etc. u still wanna be loose cus it helps ur tendons not to tighten up, so they can realese more power, when they are more loose. But the trick is in doing both things at the same time 1. Going rly hard and strong and 2> Being loose in the same time. ANd 3rd if ur rly wanna jump high STRETCH !!!!!!!!! a lot, more flexibility = higher jump, less injuries, more fun ( after u make significant progression with flexibility)

    He forget to say jump and push out before you hit the compin

    • @Aries-gn4vv
      @Aries-gn4vv Před 10 lety +1

      hitting the coping with your front wheel pops you up higher as you jump and also you have a less chance of clipping on your way back down..

    • @42kyle
      @42kyle Před 10 lety +1

      What I do when I air is going fast as fuck up the ramp and like one screw off the compin I jump and tuck in air then I don't clip the compin on the way back down :) and I can 360 air compin and grab it

    • @gnarmarmounts
      @gnarmarmounts Před 11 měsíci

      I know this was 5 years ago and perhaps its not 11 foot but I see a full 8 foot sheet of skatelite with atleast 2 feet on top... also when talking quarters people often refer to them by the diameter of the circle that they are a "quarter" of. A 7 foot transition will only be 4 feet tall...

  • @boulderdashbilly
    @boulderdashbilly Před 11 lety +3

    coz your pushing off the quarter with your feet, with your body weight too far back. you're probably leaning back a littl too much. Try not to jump, think more about the pumping action he demonstrates at the start. the more you practice that action the more air you will get!
