Many thanks. I thought I had a mains leak as my water bill doubled. It was the internal toilet overflow wasting water. After a some hours of frustration with a new unit in bits!! replaced adjusted and working again. Quite simple when you know how. I will keep my fingers crossed for a few days. There has to be a better flush invention waiting to be discovered

That's ok and glad it helped. I agree the system isnt very good and you can see water dribbling down the inside of the for quite a while after flushing.

  • @thehunterrivercompany6067

Just one quirky issue. When you push the new unit down there are flat lugs on the plastic piece just above the rubber seal that need to line up exactly with the piece screwed into the cistern. If they don't line up it is impossible to clip the new unit into place.

Loved the video, but had one of a hell time getting the top part to un-latch from the bottom. So much so that it moved the part that stays in in bottom of the cistern, now the buttons are not in the correct position.e. left and right but now at 45degrees to where there were but that saved me taking out the whole cistern to reposition everything as I could not get the base unit to go back to where it had been. again spot on video, I would have never have done it without your help thanks.

Use a thin bladed screwdiver and carefully prise the bottom bit off. You then find it is keyed onto the shaft so next time line up the keys if you know where they are. If you use the right spanner you will find that the bottom bit rotates with sufficiernt force but I have been unable to find a way of locating the keyes to make removing it easier. But just do it. It works.
