  • Red Rocket have worked alongside SWR to create an informative safety video for staff.
    The keep it out of the cab video is to make drivers aware of the risks of going into holiday mode whilst in the drivers cab. But using recognised techniques like risk triggered commentary can help keep their mind on the job.
    This corporate video incorporated humorous scenes along side serious safety messages to make it engaging and memorable during safety deliver days.

    I saw a shocking (to me) video of first Eurostar to Amsterdam, the driver was chatting and laughing all the way at 100+ mph with press, management etc in the cab. I would rather have seen a serious concentration on the driver's task but nobody else seemed worried! Maybe I am just old fashioned.

    • @AnubhabKundu
      @AnubhabKundu Před 2 lety +8

      You arent old fashioned. While a light chit chat keeps sleepiness away but too much of it can be very dangerous. It seriously hampers concentration of the LP.

    • @briannem.6787
      @briannem.6787 Před 2 lety +4

      Talking is good, driving can be difficult when there is too little to pay attention to. Hell, most trains in New South Wales come standard with a CD player or radio. But, there's a tipping point where it stops helping concentration and starts distracting!
      From the way you say it, it seems they are paying more attention to talking and too little to driving. A bit of talking is good, but trying to play PR games while driving's no good. Management should've had the filming happen quietly and talk to the driver on the platform afterwards. Modern TV studios can mix audio and video well enough to make it work!

    Ok that was humerous, but as a driver the one thing health and safety don't seem to understand is that wearing a hi Vis jacket while driving is dangerous as when any light shines in the cab the orange shows on the windscreen and can literally block your view, I NEVER drive with mine on, but H and S expect you too, there good at therea and bullshit at least most of them are. Thank you for posting.

    • @JimLem
      @JimLem Před 2 lety +5

      I actually thought that was probably why train companies (the ones I travel with at least) issued their drivers with dark or neutral coloured clothing. If you're in the cab, why would you need to wear hi-vis in the first place? H&S these days is a joke.

    • @connectorxp
      @connectorxp Před 2 lety

      Yes, that is not bright to wear hi-vis equipment inside, as in our line of job and the company uniform is completely bright Hi-vis yellow-green and it reflects while driving the car. Also he is wearing safety boots? This is how they look from the video. Only the DB Cargo crews wear such equipment.
