  • When you think of a classic knot, most likely you’re thinking of the Double Windsor. This knot is best paired with dress shirts with a nice wide collar. If you have ties that are a bit longer than what you usually opt for, this is a perfect knot to try as it does require a little bit of length.
The Double Windsor is considered the most iconic knot for your favorite necktie. Named after the Duke of Windsor, who liked his knots wide with thick cloth, it is the most popular of the four major knots widely used by most people today.
Check out our latest video on CZcams - Mynicetie.com’s Double Windsor Knot. The Double Windsor is one of our favorite knots to teach. It’s a quick and easy knot that is symmetrical, classic, and looks fantastic with a myriad of styles.

if you're looking for a hogwarts vibe the four in a hand OR Prince Albert knot is probably a better option. Double Windsor is alot more formal and if you look at the ties in Harry Potter most of the ties the student's have are four in a hand or Prince Albert and worn pretty loose around the collar with the top button undone. Of course its down to you at the end of the day, wear which knot you feel most comfortable in but if you're going for a more classic Hogwarts uniform vibe go for four in a hand or Prince Albert

Just now I spent an hour trying and failing while watching other videos until I finally made it to yours and nailed it on the first try. Well almost nailed it, might have to make it a bit shorter 😅 I can't even explain why I've been failing so far, my knot just always turned out a little weird. So what I was trying to say is that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like I've grown a little

Thank you SOOOOO MUCH!!! My boyfriend has fine motor skills/co-ordination issues and tying a nice and neat tie is one of the most difficult things for him to do. As a woman I never needed to, or learned to, tie a tie before and I was easily able to follow this and help him look great for his first job!!! Thanks!!! (His dad always did it before and he bought all new ties for his new job)
I looked at so many videos before this one and they were hard to follow. I was trying not to get frustrated as it was making him more frustrated.
The mirrored image really helped. The video was slow. Easily explained. The guy was articulate. Key points were mentioned. Only took me two attempts to get it right. First try the knot was a little messy. Now I can make an elegant, smooth knot and not wrinkle the tie. Still working on getting the right length for HIM. So far it seems if I put the tie-tip at my wrist, gently fold the tie to my finger tips and hold my arm straight down, I get the length about right. Again, you are a life saver!! Thank you so so so so much.

WOW! Yes, I know I am not the "target audience" but I wanted to use a couple of CHANEL ties as accessories for a juxtaposition look and first tried the "half windsor" and it seemed complicated yet not much of a pow...... a few videos and ties later and BAAAAM! This guy is AMAZING! As a professional trainer, he knows how to teach! I am working with some older ties and wearing them low but his "tightening hack" completely did the trick! This is THE video for all the single mom's of sons, boys and men who are wearing ties for the first time and GAL's who want to wear a statement piece- far better to buy a CHANEL or GUCCI vintage tie for $30-$80 than a junkie costume matchy matchy piece! The double windsor- I am not sure if that is what all of the suave "cats" are wearing but I like it!

This is great.I just recently transferred to a strict Boarding School with a strict Gray Jacket, Gray Dress Slacks ,Gray tie and black dress shoes dress code and an overcoat daily. My tie looks great which is what I need since I pretty much suit it up daily for many hours a day.

What an awesome video! I was able to nail it on the second try and did a few more practice runs for confidence! If I hadn't rushed, the very first attempt would have been perfect. If you're having issues don't forget you can slow the video.
