    If you're into any kind of sound design, synthesis or just want to push your productions in ways that other DAWs can't then Bitwig is the cats nuts.
    It's also cross platform too.

      Nice. I’m at that point where I want to push myself more. I know how to produce because I been doing it for 20 plus years. But I always wanted to work on my sound design and synthesis. I can do some pretty ok sound designing for my music and some ok synthesis. But I feel like Bitwig makes it very initiative to go super deep and push the limits. Very forward thinking program.

    The best thing for me is the automation section! So intuitiv and smooth fast. Just click any parameter and the automation lane shows up under the track. But not activated yet. One more click and you can go. Amazing.
    And all the other tools are so musical.
    I miss the chain mixer view too but on the other hand it prevents me from mixing to early. I’m using way less plugins also! I’m in love

    You did a great job summarizing some of what makes Bitwig Studio so GREAT! After 20+ years of Cubase, I switched to Ableton Live and it just never felt right. After 5 years of trying to force myself to love Ableton, I decided to give Bitwig Studio a try. Bitwig is like a gift from God and I can't sing its praises enough! It is the perfect marriage of Ableton Live and traditional DAWS like Cubase, Logic, Studio One, etc. IMO, Bigwig Studio is the best DAW on the market. Especially when considering it's deep integration with VST, hardware synths and modular. Coming from Ableton, it is VERY easy to get to grips with the basics of Bitwig. I've only scratched the surface of what Bitwig can do, but I have the rest of my life to get to know it better! Til death do us part!
    Edit: One of Bitwig's best features is the ? icon in the Menu bar. Select a device in your rack and click this button. It will bring up a full screen dialog with a brief explanation of every control on the device, and the device preview is realtime. Super handy for beginners and seasoned users alike.

    I notice on CZcams that the insanely knowledgeable, technical producers and sound designers are using Bitwig. It's like the geeks DAW for extremely skilled people. I don't seem to learn much from them as they teach and talk on a completely different level of understanding. Studio One is also a very pretty DAW. There is so much I still don't know in Logic and the plugins I have bought, learning a new DAW is not relevant to me. You have many years learning and training than I have so learning how to use synths and plugins is maybe not your main focus now. There is always something to learn and improve on with music production and changing a DAW is daunting and you'll feel out of place for a while but overall it will benefit you and you'll be even better. The best producers are good in any DAW.

    Almost two years ago I got myself the Bitwig Studio trial. That was when it wasn't a real trial, you couldn't save. Left my Mac powered on over night. Like you, three days later I bought it switching from Studio One which is an amazing DAW by itself. But Bitwig Studio makes you feel like living under a rock, as you put it.
    By the way, the Sampler device can do even more. When you open it in full view (window icon in the device bar) you can even work with multisamples and round robins. For release samples just insert another Sampler device in the first one's Release chain. This thing is serious.

      I can relate to that. When I tried to trial version I was expecting much. I was a bit arrogant I will admit. But I was quickly brought back to earth when I realize how insane this thing is. I haven't even touched the Bitwig 5 Beta yet. lol And you are right. Studio one is a beast of a DAW. So is Ableton and Logic. @@Jamusictv Tip: put a reference WAV on a track, set its output routing to "None". Yes. None. On the Master bus as last device (even after the limiter) pull in an Audio Receiver device, set its input routing to the output of your reference track, ideally post fader, mix to 100%. When you now turn on/off the Audio Receiver device in the mixer panel (yellow dot to the left of the device name in the mix channel) you can switch between your reference track and your mix. Use the reference track fader to level-match. Now you have a proper reference track feature in Bitwig Studio without any 3rd-party plugin needed or messing with the solo buttons.

Then, I decided to give Bitwig a go and… I was blown away! It almost clicked instantly for me. • @Jamusictv
      @Jamusictv  Před rokem +1

      How long have you been using Logic before you discovered Bitwig ? Also, I think when "we" as producers use a DAW like Logic for such a long time . We tend to get stuck in that realm. Logic is fast, easy and pretty to work in. But Apple is slow with updates and do what they want, because they are Apple. lol But as producers/mixers this can keep us in a box and stunt our growth. So when a program like Bitwig comes a long and you realize " a team has programmed all the stuff in a DAW I ever wanted." Well that kind of is mind blowing. I know for me it was. I went searching into Ableton for that reason. And I was like this is cool. But when I touched Bitwig I was beyond on impress. Especially as an old dog in music production. Its hard to get super impress anymore by software, until you meet something like Bitwig. I will probably always use Logic for mixing just because I'm so use to it and really think for mixing its definitely top 3. But for production and really leaning into sound design for music production I will learn Bitwig to step up my game and see if this old dog can learn some new tricks.

      @@Jamusictv I used Logic for 5 years, maybe. Also I totally agree with you about Logic being fast and easy. That’s also the reason why it took me such a long time to settle down with another DAW. I think that all DAW’s have their PRO’s and CON’s, so it really depends what a user is looking for. Dig into Bitwig and, probably like me, you’ll come to a point where even when mixing and mastering will find yourself going back to its stock plugins. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars in plugins through the years, and in my last projects I have used none of them. Bitwig really is the next big thing in music production, imo.
