- This man needs no introduction! Also known as a DO-OR-Dier, Rob Dyrdek's relentless pursuit of his childhood dreams made him a professional athlete at 16 years old and propelled him into the world of business before most people entered college.
Surrounded by entrepreneurs in his youth, Dyrdek quickly learned the power of building brands which he used to create his first company by the age of 18.
By leveraging his influence and designing new concepts and ideas, he helped turn a rising footwear and apparel brand into a $500 million international company.
With a successful production company, several hit shows created on MTV including "Ridiculousness" and "Rob & Big" his unquenchable desire to live life to the fullest has pushed him to develop a strategy for success.
It is really a privilege to bring you my friend and business partner with @outstandingfoods, Rob Dyrdek, as we deeply examine his life plan for happiness, balance, and love while still achieving greatness in his career.
This interview will rejuvenate and inspire you to embark on your own relentless pursuit. #maxout! WATCH/LISTEN NOW!
What's the biggest problem you would
like me to talk about in my next video?
Comment below, and i'll do my best to make one!
The G.E.D. is a diploma outside of high school, to have a High school equivalent diploma. For jobs to know we at least got it.
First time watching interviews but not my last. Good questions you asked and cool to know a bit more about you. Prayers for many more doors to open for you and your family.
Not so much about a problem. But how to know when to play offense and defense within certain businesses. And how you attract clients into long term vehicle investments. On a side note.
Your show is powerful. I have gained a lot of insight about life and being successful from you and your guests. Thank you for all you do Ed! 👊
a comeback story...someone who has failed big, or was living small, and turned life around to be a big success.....I guess maybe a 2nd chapter story.
Finding a champion to help bring my many ideas for life. Walt Disney had his brother Roy.. Einstein had Max Talmund.. McCartnry & Lennon had Gerorge Martin.. I'm Shane Heron, still networking renlentlessly to find my champion, where all parties can and will mutually benefit in the end.
I would love to see a vid on how anyone can go from zero to their first million. Even if you just show how you can do it with WFG and shamelessly promote your organization. I think it would be awesome. 😀👍
"The more you begin to master you, the more that ideal version of you begins to evolve too. That I think at some point it becomes fully optimized. The fully optimized version of yourself is who you will catch up with." - Rob Dyrdek
Love this quote and was going to share, but glad I checked the comments first! So powerful to ponder on.
Be a master of your own domain.
It's amazing how well Ed is prepared for this interview.
The caliber of people you interview Ed is a testament of who you are not only as a an entrepreneur but as a person - bravo brother!
Appreciate that brother. There's more to come!
@@EdMylettShow YES!
@Horea Alexandru damn brother, show some love and stop all the negativity, won't help you get anywhere
Rob has my respect. My Son about 4 years back ran into him at a Disneyland Hotel we were staying at and he asked Rob if he could ask him some questions and get a pic taken with him and Rob Complied. He was so excited when he came to the room and told us of Robs Kindness to him we my husband and I have much love for Rob! Great Man!
AMEN THAT'S AWESOME!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT STORY 😁💯👍🏽🙏🏼😀😇; APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH! 👍🏽
😎😎 wish I could see the picture! Lol!
Sometimes we see people like Rob and don’t understand how strategic and intelligent they are, but once we see them on your show we get a chance to see how powerfully incredible these individuals are. We have seen the glory but you allow us to see the story!! Thanks Ed #WFG
Hell yes! Rob is one the most awesome visionaries there is and has been a long time mentor to me. Weird little fact is, years after my dyrdek binge watching craze, when my dad passed, he happened to be buried right by Christopher Big Black Boykins himself. Small world. It gave me an automatic reconnection to rob in a way and I rewatched all of his shows again. I hope to be able to meet him so badly one day and just let him know how much of an inspiration he is. Good convo max!
Horea Alexandru sometimes I value the experiences robs shared over what any of my teachers tried to do for me (which is close to nothing. I'm actually a HS dropout). Rob has the intention of achieving things and inspiring people simply for the joy of it, while the teachers do it out of obligation so they don't lose their jobs lol. Big difference in the quality of mentorship there. However I still see your point for sure, I just disagree. I always received a lack of respect from authority at my schools and wish I would've left sooner. I am my own best teacher and Rob is an advocate of that as well. Credit goes where credits due, and unfortunately the public school system didn't do anything positive for my growth and well being until after I withdrew and started listening to visionaries and leaders who thought similarly (much like rob)
Ed thanks for interviewing Rob, people think he is just a tv personality. He is so much more
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Great on great right here, excited to hear this one!🙌
Another brilliant interview much needed wisdom from Rob Dyrdek I'm amazed by this man's pursuance to his dreams and all of his accomplishments and how Ed brought this to life this is my second time going through it I went through Ed's interview with Cesar millan incredible incredible incredible especially when he talks about mastering poverty and how to connect with animals by being connected inside of ourselves. Mylett, this was one of your dopest interviews!!! I religiously watch your vids and guests as I gain more perspective and stories of guts and glory. Im a pilot, and im launching a SUPER DOPE private air transport service using low operating cost, but luxurious piper Saratoga, Malibu and Navajo. Designed to be affordable vacations for couples and families. Learning about real estate. Want to purchase apartments and condos, renovate to beautiful love destinations for dates and anniversaries.
ROB DYRDEK is the deffenition of an amazing life
There are so many gold nuggets of not only success but life in this video. Time management and never saying "I can't" to anything we want because it something else. This is entrepreneur 101.
That was priceless! "What gives me the most energy?" thank you Rob! 😊
Wow, Rod is a Legend. One of the best! The best show for motivation & maxing out your life

Yo Rob! Come out with a book?!! that would be legit
100% agree! Would easily be a bestseller for sure!!
100% agree! Would easily be a bestseller for sure!!
Ed Mylett. I'm glad I found your videos. You are a living proof that a strong and intimidating man can still be likeable, pleasing and amiable.
You guys went on about the importance of self-belief. So here's how I view it. There's essentially two ways to build self-belief: 1) the realistic way, which is a result of continuous real life achievements, and 2) the solipsistic way, which is a result of a lot of mindset work and ultimately boils down to rationalization. These are not mutually exclusive ways to build self-belief, and the most confident man will in fact use both.
On the extreme point of the first kind of self-belief, you have all the biggest conquerors of our history, like an Alexander the Great or an Attila, or to a lesser, more relatable degree, modern men like the Mikey Garcia you interviewed the other day: these are men who build their insane level of self-belief piece by piece, accomplishment by accomplishment. Experts on every subject, from the most physical to the most spiritual, ACQUIRE their self-belief, with real life-long, continuous accomplishments. Another modern example could be a man like Elon Musk.
On the extreme point of the second kind of self-belief, you have all the biggest religious prophets of our history, like a Buddha, or even a Jeanne d'Arc, who out of sheer "inspiration" (i.e. self-belief) manage to attract and then lead people.
The legend of the meeting of Diogenes and Alexander expresses these different kinds of self-belief perfectly. One was a a hobo living in the streets with no possessions, while the other was the emperor of practically all civilized world. Both were extremely confident. Both are remembered 2 millennia afterwards. And I, too, want you to be remembered 2 millennia from now, Ed Mylett. This is why I will dedicate an aphorism to you in my coming philosophical book.
Ahahahah. How's THAT for self-belief, Ed?
Thoroughly enjoyed the dialect between these two outstanding gentlemen! Very Nicely Done
I'm from Dayton, I am 7 years younger than Rob. I appreciate everything he has done for the community of Kettering. The skate park he built is there for the community and thats what hes about. Thanks Rob!
What a unique guest this time round. Rob has achieved unbelievably diverse success that is just inspiring. A mean 😧 scoring 'A's in school, dropping out then pro-athlete, rocking MTV, business, stunts, and still being wholely available for family 🥺🙆🏿♂️ hands down a legend
Rob is my Hero
16:54 I have the EXACT same characteristic! And I find myself doing exactly what Rob said he does during an experience he wants to remember, "telling myself" to remember this and soak this moment in. I did it at my wedding in Malibu as I sat there in paradise with all my friends and family around and told myself to look around, lock these images into my memory, lock the joy and happiness into my memory, lock the feel of the dry cool air on my skin into my memory (I live in Georgia so dry air is so pleasurable to me). This method works for me. Its the only way to "bookmark" my memories. Without this conscious effort to remember a moment I will without a doubt forget the majority of the experience/story/event. I would love to hear what a psychologist or expert in the field of memory has to say about this. I agree - total blessing in that forgiveness is fairly easy - I don't remember when/how I got screwed over very well so I overlook people's shortcomings very easily. Curse in the sense that sometimes I have to be reminded of things I already know.
(47:56) I have been searching for a way to do this with my children. I tell them their amazing and they can do anything, but I could not figure out a good way to make them believe in themselves! Amazing!! Thank you from the bottom of this father's heart!!
You have to fail in order to learn how to win. Remember.. Failure is the Angel that brings you home
Relentless Pursuit.
let's get it!
ROBBBBBB ONE OF THE FIRST TO INSPIRE ME, thank you so much he hasn’t really done this before
Check out his interview with Tom Bilyeu if you want more ;)
Bet
@Jf Leduc I recommend the Gerard Adams episode
JF Leduc ^
DC was and still the best brand my son had caps and t-shirts, loved it 🙏🇿🇦❤..
Omg two guys I love listening to and watching. Rob and Ed!! This is going to be dynamically amazing as you both embark in this new business together woohoo 🎉 You both are very inspirational and thank you 🙏
For a show idea, Ive always been super aware of being offended or Burt hurt if you will when talking to certain people and it’s affecting my relationships, and makes conversations very awkward. I’ve been improving my self overall for the last 4 years and can’t get over this one thing because it snowballing in other aspects of my life.
At 57 Rediculousness is still my fav show. Love you both. Thxs
Stoked on macho man savage realizing and reckognzing robs trip on life he has always been on a heavy one
Pure gold and greatness
This is one of my favorite interviews.
People always want to limit their beliefs in what we can do
Just an incredible hour of real, honest, and powerful conversation. Always admired Rob for his entrepreneurial spirit and lust for living life on his terms. Great interview.
Couldn't agree with you more brother!
Was there something in particular you learned about him, that you didn't know before the interview?
Great question. There were numerous learning moments throughout but for me it was witnessing his poise and demeanor. His commitment to finding his wife and emphasis on family values was refreshing to hear. His ability to engage in multiple ventures while continuing to produce at a high level is impressive and admirable. You don’t normally hear people break down thought processes so clearly.
I needed this episode. I am very grateful for you interviewing Rob. I have never seen MTV, I didn’t know who he was when I tuned in. His endless drive throughout such a tumultuous schedule and balancing so many aspects of life is what I’m dealing with right now. So inspirational...thank you.
I am so glad this spoke to you! Rob is such an inspiration with so much wisdom to offer! I'll keep the amazing guests coming!
It really did! Thank you so much for all you do! I discovered you at Relentless in Anaheim in 2018, you were electric! I hope you are there in 2019!
Wow!!! Just wow!!! Amazing man!!!
Amazing in every way possible! 🔥🔥🔥
By far my most favorite interview. Keeps getting better and better. This is absolutely amazing. Rob is seriously a long lasting icon.
Wow! Thank you Ed for always #MaxOut with Ed Mylett. Thank you for inviting #robdyrdek an inspiring person who is maxing out so many areas of his live. I took a lot of notes of great nuggets & values I caught today.
Unreal story!!! Thank you Ed!
Epic Interview. Thank you Ed! I appreciate you. Rob Drydek is a G!
Learning from Rob is cool I remember watching his shows growing up
Rob was one the entrepreneurs I studied when I was young. Rob showed me that you can live the life you want. I am sure that he does stuff he doesn't want to do sometimes, but overall he has created his life in a positive way.
I'm riding with you Rob.
He is amazing! I first saw him on Impact Theory and was blown away. I used to try to not have my son look to skaters and/or rude attitude people because I wanted him to use his brains to succeed and find "assery" funny. I only knew what I saw on Rob and Big. I had to admit I was so wrong (I made assumptions and didn't look at the big picture). That day I realized he was brilliant. He reminds me of Lucille Ball - she showed the world what they wanted to see but she was so much more - very wise/intelligent. Same with Rob - he is an amazing genius not only in business but in life. Thank you for getting him on your show. I try to follow him but he is very conscious of his time and who he shares it with so what an honor he bestowed on your followers.
Its my pleasure to bring you world-class guests. Ill keep them coming!
I have been saying "People Matter Things Don't" for years and hearing it here means a great deal for me. Thank you Ed for your spirit and your heart. You bless me beyond words ...
Rob is a straight up inspiration
Belief is everything 💪
Another incredible interview! Rob truly is the epitome of 'you can do anything you set your mind to'.
In the sheer diversity of what Rob does to know that there is a clear strategy, foundation and goal is amazing.
I think the last question really provided the key summary of what it takes to reach the highest level- The ability to have such a relentless self-belief in yourself that you will achieve your end goal no matter what. And if your belief is aligned with hard work 'luck' starts to show.
My dad made me watch this because I play a lot of games, and he wants me to put the same amount of time on games on “good videos”. but wow you’ve actually shifted my way of thinking and inspired me to become successful, I’ve just been binge watching you’re videos and I’m so glad I’ve found this channel.
You guys are awesome! Thank you for bringing this. WOW...so much good in here!!!
Thanks for having Rob on, have followed since the early days this dude is special. Great conversation. MAXOUT!!!
I look forward to meeting you one day so that I can thank you in person and I can tell you my story! You both speak about your memory loss as a curse and a gift....well I cant seem to forget, so instead of dwelling and wishing i can forget, I am using it to tell my story and show folks that no matter where they've come from, what they've gone thru...You can change your life by changing your mind! I've started the first of 13 episodes that I've begun teaching the 13 Principles of Success by Napoleon Hill! You motivate me so much brother! Thank you and I'll see you soon!
Such an amazing interview. Much respect, Ed.
Ed’s face at 44:47 summaries exactly how I felt about Rob finding his girl! I know that’ll be my reaction when I find mine ! 🙏🏼😊
haha it was a great moment for sure!
What's 1 thing you would have asked him if you could?
One of my favorite videos by far!! Thank you so much!
Thank's Ed for pointing out knowing Rob as more than just the TV guy that I used to only know him as!
"There is people in this world that use the complexities of their lives as an excuse to not succed in any one of them"
I been guilty of this at times. Thank you Ed for shedding light into my mental handicaps
Yeah you had a super strong upbringing around family & young entrepreneur friends that were building companies in front of you that allowed you to develop into what you are.
So awesome! Love both of yall!
OMG! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE @Rob Dyrdek! You are on fire, @Ed Mylett. You are definitely maxing out with your interviews lately! #MaxOut with Ed Mylett
I'll keep the world class guests coming!
15:14 was super eye opening for me. When I first heard Ed Mylett say (loosely paraphrased) that we should always try to pursue the goal of becoming who we were destined to be, I got it! To combine those powerful words with the insight that Rob provides at 15:14 was so enlightening! This then to me explains the concept of “blissful dissatisfaction”. Is that right Ed?
One of the best yet. My favorite one so far
Amazing interview! Thank you Ed Mylett for always bringing the BEST!!!
Amazing mornings when #maxout is there! Wonderful words of wisdom at the 47 minute moment! So important to provide that to your kids.
Regarding below, I did! Huge fan and inspiration!! Love how he’s so diverse
WOW WOW WOW! God bless you both ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome, didn't know Rob had done so much. Love how he is with his kids and first time I heard Ed about how he is with his kids. Loved it!
I really hope this interview shows Rob in a different way, then most people really don't get to see or hear about. Was an absolute pleasure sitting down with him.
My life changing one video at a time many thanks many blessings Ed!
This was amazing.....never kew Rob has done so much and how deep he is. Thanks.
Awesome interview, I have always admired Robs relentless drive! The content in your interviews always adds value to my life! Thanks Ed!
Ed I wanna say thank you your literally changing my life 1 show at a time every person has a piece of the puzzle and is credible. and you have a way of bringing out the info that people especially me that need to hear thank you so much
What an inspiring interview. Thanks Ed Rob 🤛🤛
The podcast with Rob was so good which I listened to yesterday that I’m listening to this old podcast today! Excited to see the consistency and evolution in this 1 on 1.
Love the part where Ed says He feels like Rob is the most similar person to him and they struggle with memory. That it’s a gift and a curse. I feel the exact same way. It’s nice not to remember my failures and live in regret. My goal is that one day we will sit in a room together and look back at this comment today!
Rob is a great roll model
(35:06) I don't know how you knew I was thinking that has been my life for so many years...it has been a crazy spiral of waves crashing down on me. Once you learn to change your mindset you will always reach the surface. Keep pushing, keep striving to be better no matter what the circumstances. It can only make you better! Beyond inspirational! Thank you both!
Awesome ! you both are amazing people !!!!!! #MAXOUT
Watched Rob my entire life and completely took for granted how actually insane he is. 11/10 all around.
What's 1 thing you learned about him, you previously didn't know?
There's so many, One thing I've always seen and noticed but never put together is his absolute relentlessness, The man is permanently in a state of flow, constantly creating and being the creator of his life. I admire that the most. One episode of early fantasy factory, rob scored the lowest IQ score in the room. However, regardless of that, still was the most brilliant man in the room. All i all one thing this interview taught me, is to pursue my ultimate self regardless of fear.
I've been a fan since DC in 94. I met rob twice at a MYOL product launch at brea mall and met him on Ridiculousness after the show. Belief is key. I believed I could get an issued utility patent on my new removable spinning foam roller ab wheels and I achieved it. I pioneered over 100+ new training. Stayed on it for 4-5 yrs and now I have a major brand TT therapeutics sponsored by UFC and joe Rogan having the CEO reviewing my prototypes. It's gone from an idea to an actual product by a legit brand interested in licensing. I grew so much through evolving it adding resistance bands and new double roller training and then evolving new Stetches, studying every vid/report online about foam rolling to master or re/invent every type of training. I went all in. Devoted my life to every day training in it. Then I launched my IG and got likes from Kai Greene and Keith Jardine. It went all out. Thanks Rob 🙏 I don't think I could have stayed in the right mindset without him.
Then my 1st idea was a mini 3 step fun box to allow new grind combos on alternate steps. Filmed 4-5 yrs of vids doing never before done combos. ARC which co sponsors and works with street league rebuilt my box which was in a tony hawk fundraiser and is now in a skatepark in panama. My homie dan owner of Houston skateboards worked for them and believed in my idea. Proves you can build ideas in your garage that you love doing for you .. and if it is something you can see as marketable or patentable go for it. It's a big investment so be prepared.
NOOOOOOO!! NO YOU DIDN'T!! So awesome 😱🔥🔥🔥
This is going to be fire! #MaxOut
YES WE DID!
How to fight the devil on the devil's ground.. drugs homelessness and the way to battle them you don't need to move away from your town you become a better person for yourself and choose to reach out with so many things against you and God is with you who can be against you.
Annnd exhale. That was dense with wisdom. Great interview style to give him the time to search out his answers. What strikes me most from this interview compared to the Graham Bessinger one is HOW MUCH Rob has learned the last 5+ years both about himself and his business. From learning what he needs to do to mediate (5 am in a soma pod) to bounding a path to how he wants to help create companies but not operate them. It was all just a condensed master class, as you put it. It's so gratifying seeing people who are passionate and find the path to become their optimal self. It gives all an example to follow. Also I kept hearing "systematize" ... wondering if Rob read Ray Dalio's book Principles because I heard a lot of his ideas overlapping.
Soooo glad this was on my recommend!! New subscriber! Great stuff!
This is a fantastic interview , thank you so much Ed!!
Great advice, "I believe I will be and deserve to be successful!" Thank you Ed. So much I didn't know about Rob. So much respect for both of you!
Thank you Ed.
Wow! This one has a lot of gold in it! Thanks for this #MaxOut episode, Ed! I had a couple epiphanies while listening to the interview, like when he talked about fear, in those moments you have to make sure you do your very best to not die, those moments bring out the best in ourselves, where everything we have learnt in life serves us to the max! That's why going out of our comfort zone makes us grow so much!
Love, absolutely love and appreciate reading comments like this. Exactly what I hope to help with these interviews. Amazing comment. Thank you very much!
This is great, I hadn't heard of Rob before, inspiring how he's done so many great things and his first date was even inspiring too... #maxout every area in life
