    Today, I stopped at the Isafjordur cruise terminal for merely 5 hours, I was able to walk around Isafjordur, Iceland and soak up it's amazing beauty. This place is amazing! The landscape is so dramatic!
    I tried my best to capture as many beautiful shots as possible, but time was running against me.

    What a great critique of the town. Now I know so much about it. Brilliant that there are people out there putting so much effort into finding out about the places they visit.

      - Eek, I don't know much. I was there for a short time and I walked everywhere. But, I will say that it was possibly the most expensive country I have ever been to (out of 17 or so). Be prepared to drop some serious cash.
      I always suggest planning and doing thing 'on your own' as opposed to using a 'tour guide'...the prices will be even higher.

      - I literally can't remember. It's been too long ago. My best estimate would be bad it was just starting to go into fall..
      I think shortly before or after this video, I had a Halloween party on the ship.

    Do you know if it was just a fishing village? I like the way the little houses look.

    • @Edgesofearth

      - I do know that when I entered the town from the small boat, there were massive towers of ice ready to go on top of the fish that they caught. Not sure if it is the towns primary income or not, but, it was a large part - that's for sure! :P

    • @ivarmarkusson382
      @ivarmarkusson382 Před 6 lety +1

      thats correct, the fishing industry is and has been this towns main source of income, people used to go out in the bay in rowing boats the whole year around.
      this town was amongst the countries biggest towns in the 19 and early 20 century, in the 90's it took a massive hit after the introduction of the qota system,
      i was born and raised in this town, and growing up there i thougth this was the definition of "middle of nowhere" i moved to reykjavik when i was 20 and this summer i just moved back to ísafjörður, and for the first time in my live i am stunned by the scenery,
