- In this final episode, the recruits met their new training officers and receive their first FTO assignments. Next, at Family Night, spouses, parents, and friends learn about their recruits' next phase of training. Then, one last inspection remains before the class can receive their badges, and our cameras are there. We conclude with the big event - Class 16's Academy graduation!

Are people seriously freaking out because of the mention of 'God' in the code of ethics? Seriously relax. No one is forcing you or the recruits to believe in God and I bet they would say near anything just to get their badge.
On a lighter note, Thank you SJPD for treating us with a look into your academy. I felt proud of all of the recruits when they graduated even though I don't know them. I hope and pray they are continuing in their careers with that same zeal they had to complete training!

I never said we can't have them I am suggesting that if you are that opposed to it then don't be a cop. You won't have to say it, problem solved. Good luck getting hired if you put up a fit about that to a department.

I am not saying it's right. But that's they way it is. There are plenty of career's out there where you don't have to praise any god. Don't be a cop if your that opposed to saying it.
If they are atheist than saying "before god" should mean nothing and be simply words, they can even say "before man". If they are of another faith put the name of their god in place of just god, people do it all the time when they take vows. I've noticed bag pipes appear alot around law enforcement, why is that? They play at funerals in Walker Texas Ranger several times, they play at ceremonies and graduations like this ect.
