    Tascam DR10X Audio Recorder | geni.us/WFSdr10x
There are lots of ways to capture audio at a wedding but there are drawbacks to all of them, so you need to have an easy backup audio solution to make sure you have a good clean feed. That is where the tascam dr10x audio recorder comes into play. I have been using this thing for a year now and not only is it incredibly easy to setup and use as a backup, there are times that I am actually choosing to use it as my main track. I'm very excited to offer you all this tascam dr10x review for weddings.
The tascam dr10x is much like the dr10l except instead of taking a lav mic, it has an xlr input which means you can plug it directly into the back of a sound board, speaker, or other things at a wedding. It offers auto leveling and other features that can make your job easy, and can be set up in just a minute. It is a crucial part of any wedding video audio setup and greatly assists in how to record wedding audio.
I love using the tascam dr10x for weddings because it offers me a simple backup solution that I don't have to think too much about and it still captures high quality audio. The tascam dr10x best settings that I like to use are EXT level, dual record, and a few others that guarantee I will get good clean usable audio in case my other source goes down for any reason.

So glad I implemented this backup solution last year. It's been super quick to add into my workflow and I love the peace of mind!

Can you do a video how to plug into a dj board? I know you mentioned the types cables we need but i need it dumbed down.

So if you've got all the cables and the recorder you could ask the DJ, but honestly that is a tossup...I have interacted with a lot of DJ's who don''t really know their gear well. My ranking of what I look for is as follows
      1) 1/4" to or XLR out of the back of the microphone receiver (you get the feed before it hits the DJ sound board)
      2) XLR out of the soundboard
      3) XLR out of the speaker
      4) RCA out of the sound board.
Now to be clear. That is not always the order of what's best, so like Bruno said you always need to throw on a set of headphones and make sure it's clean and good levels, but that is generally the ranking of what I find to be best, and it never hurts to have a backup! For the recorder in this video I typically plug it into the back of a speaker as a backup.

Hello. Most Sound boards have female input, so need to get an adapter right?

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  Před rokem

I don't need an adapter. Which cord specifically are you referring to?

  • @pricelessproductions1769

mine doesn't have EXT or even a menu sysyem remotely like yours.
My mic gain settings are identical to my tascam dr10L settings wit the L/M/H etc

My DUAL REC MODE has -6 and -12 options - which should I choose? Thx!

You can throw this on the back of a speaker but need to make sure to set the audio level to "ext"
