Wallah... I totally agree two of my fave maqam to listen to is Nahawand and Ajam. I pretty much memorized Surahs of the Qur'an by listening to Sheik Mishary Alafasy. I recite it the way he did, I didn't even know what maqamaat are at that time. Subhanallah.

@@umair1ahmed1 I dont know about that brotha, but there is a hadith, where prophet s.a.w. heard one sahabah reciting Qur'an and he stayed listening to him for a long time, when sahabah saw the prophet he said and Im paraphrasing here "if I knew you were there I would beautify my recitation / voice even more." Tajweed first in my opinion, Id agree of course we shouldnt make our recitations sound like those of the music/songs

Personally I feel its seems very unnatural and it feel wrong (Just read wikipedea entry on maqamaat its an entry on music). Regarding the hadith you mentioned it only mentioned beautifying ones voice, you have used Qiyas and made it applicable on maqamaat (I respect your opinion). My argument would be, we dont find Prophet (pbuh) or any companions using it even though it was there then. Allah knows best
@@umair1ahmed1 These two akhis are scholars and I respect them, they say its not haraam which I agree, but there are people who make maqam like important which affects the tajweed, if we are doing something that sahabahs didnt it doesnt necessarily means its haraam, I dont find anything wrong with beautifying the voice of recitations as long as it doesnt affect Tajweed.
