- On the outskirt of Eugene (Oregon) lives Endo, an Appaloosa gelding who has inspired the hearts of many after losing his sight to a widespread eye disorder. However, this hasn't stopped him from going on to achieve great things. We have visited Endo to watch him playing and running, even though he is blind, and talked to his owner Morgan Wagner, to find out more about Endo's life and his incredible story.

What I find fascinating is how the muscles around his eyes still twitch to blink
yea its phantom feeling i believe i dunno im dumb lol but its where you think the limb is still there humans experience it too when they lose a limb ^^
Yeah! I volunteer with 14 horses one of them only has one eye. The other was removed surgically. He still blinks with both eyes as if there was no difference. He's not really different from the other horses I volunteer with. Other than the fact that he relies on handlers a little more. But it's still amazing to see a horse with no eyes at all. Caspian, the horse I was just talking about, he can still see. Endo can't see anything, but he can still have fun like the other horses he lives with. It's honestly adorable and fascinating.
I’m with you Sophie on that! My gelding had his eye removed in May and it was surprising/super cool to see he still had the blink reflex in the empty socket!
Of course even tho someone loses a eye the nerves and reflexes don't go anywhere
@@proudlesbiancat3577 yes u are correct it's the nerves ect humans allso do it the only difference is no eye nothing else changes
Imagine the trust this horse has for his owner! It’s so inspiring and amazing!!
...exactly what my reaction was too...and the woman's ability to create that trust is admirable!
Endo has been an inspiration for me. Been following his story for a couple of years now.
He shows that just because a horse maybe banged up a little, doesn’t mean their life should be thrown away.
Endo is such a sweetheart. I live in Oregon, and I see him at the Linn County Horse Fair & Expo almost every year. I've gotten to feed him treats, give him kisses, pet him, etc. He's absolutely amazing and he's such a sweetheart. I look forward to seeing him every year ❤
Keeli Cummings See I hear this. I go every year as I live in Linn county, and when I saw him and her preform it was terrible. I’m sad to say. My family and I were very excited but she wasn’t dressed to preform, (which okay whatever this is Linn county who cares) but then she snapped at the announcer, was rude to the audience, and only rode for 5 or 6 minutes, when she was scheduled for 15 or 20. She had an attitude the entire time and seemed like she was bothered she even had to preform in front of people who were there to support her. Maybe an off day, but either way it was horrible and many people there said that’s how it was previously. Hate to talk bad but it was honestly really bad. I’m glad other people in Linn county have had pleasant experiences.
Wow your blind horse behaves better than my horse with two eyes!
It's all in the horsemanship...
Ariel Mizrachi Not always. Sometimes some horses are just cheeky!
Lol
He can't see meaning he can't be spooked
I’m sure it is mostly thanks to the owner’s work and the horse’s character, but having a disability like that might play a role into bonding and trusting one another on a whole new level. We used to have a lovely horse that was hjust recently dismissed from his racing career after completely ruining his legs from racing his whole life. Because his legs were so damaged he couldn’t flee or defend himself but just strengthened the trust between us more
Blind or not, he’s a stunning horse. The partnership that you have with each other is amazing, you’re so lucky. A lot of people can only dream about being so close to their horse xx
He is a fantastick horse, He trustes his owner., Hes a hero.
And his owner is a hero to.
I can't imagine how much time she must have invested to build up this deep trust and connection they have.
(Sorry for my English)
As a retired horse trainer I have to say that not only is this an extraordinary animal but his trainer/rider is extremely talented and dedicated ! My hat is off to both of you!
THE HORSE KNOWS 50-60 WORDS!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT HE IS!!!
HIS HANDLER IS AN ANGEL AND A TRUE HERO!!
THIS ALMOST MADE ME CRY.
Such a great trained horse, not only of his liberty but his muscels!!! All the best for you!!!
I noticed too! He looks so fit and athletic. Beautiful creature!
I'm glad they didn't give up on him.
Beautiful. We always raised our horses to react to verbal and visual signs and I'm great they managed to teach verbal commands to him. One of the stables where I occasionally rode had an old mare who was blind as well. She was almost twenty years of age and a total sweetheart. She had been blind for over ten years and knew how where the end of the arena and the fields were. Small kids could sit on her back and ride her without a problem, because she was just so well adjusted to her blindness. I'm glad that Endo's owners haven't taken the "easy way out" and put him down but instead cherished him. Great video!
I saw endo at a local horse show and the connection between him and his rider is amazing. Such a well trained beautiful horse.
This shows trust, and the intelligence a horse has
It is a late answer but at least it is a answer
If you look closely before the zoom in on the jump you can see how she is moving her lips! So i guess he learned to jump due to a voice command like he learned to bow with the word "bow"
i met this horse a few years ago. He's so kind
He owns an amazing human, she's INCREDIBLE how she is his eyes and knows exactly what he needs he chose an amazing lady, hes such a beauty💗
Poor poor horse. He deserves the best. Thank you for taking care of him and loving him.

God bless you for taking such good care of him! There is still good in this world! He is amazing in what he can do!
He does look a little odd without his eyes, but other than that he looks like a really great horse to have!
I agree!and may look a bit different then other horses but he seems so sweet
@@blossom9876 Exactly, sweetness counts for a lot in my book.

Your horse is soooo beautiful♥️🥰😳😍 you are so strong 💪🏻
He's not the only blind horse. There's a beautiful dressage horse that's amazing
This stands as a testament to the sheer power of trust!
It amazing how a horse who is special and do the amazing things . He a very special horse 🐎
He is absolutely amazing!
I saw him in person and got to pet him at Breyer west! The show was amazing! They even jumped!
Ok, I have to say that Endo is just so beautiful, and I am so grateful to his owner for giving him such a productive and beautiful life! He doesn't have to be perfect to have value!
Sensational! Taking the jump blew me away!
The level of trust. This horse walks, trots, and canters in any direction this humans points his nose into. She could run in right into a wall or a fence a hole anything! And yet he continues to believe in her and trust her completely, trust that she will tell him when to jump and stop him before he gets hurt. This level of trust and bond cannot be faked in any way shape or form. Incredible absolutely incredible.
I used to follow Endo on FB then I stopped using FB & have often wondered about him, he is incredible & so is Morgan...awesome pair. ❤️❤️❤️
I met this horse last year and he is such a sweet guy! So intelligent and calm. He's such an inspiration!

Beautiful horse and beautiful trainer. So much inspiration. Nothing can stop one when one wants to achieve. Amazing!
i remember i rode a horse with one blind eye, and then she went blind in the other. they put her down :( Rip freckles
Same, I used to have my Appy colt named Sarape and he accidentally blinded himself. They sold him to slaughter.
@@ix3755 Who sold him to slaughter?
@@debbiepeter112 The trainers
@@ix3755 Discusting!! Trainers who shouldnt be working with animals
@@ix3755 Thats terrible! Those trainers shouldn't be with the animals! If my riding school did that (even though they wouldn't) I'd get my mother to sue them and I wouldn't be going back again. I know they wouldn't do that though cause they're amazing
This horse is truly an amazing animal! Horses are soo strong and I love his story. Poor endo. But he’s gorgeous! His story is sooo inspiring. He runs like a normal horse and I hope he has an amazing life!
Amazing Endo and Mom. Relationships are the most important part.
When I first saw Endo a couple years ago I found him creepy but know I’m amazed and he has inspired me to rescue horses when I’m older
how beautiful to have a loving owner like you! precious boy!
I observe Endo on facebook and he's awesome. I knew a horse which didn't have one eye but still he was so calm, beautiful and loving. His name was Minus.
Gosh, he is just so handsome 😍 love him and their story! So amazing that she’s put so much time and work into him to live a happy life. He’s amazing!
Wow, that is inspiring! The fact that he learned 60 words is expanding my mind to what’s possible.
What a beautiful horses and wonderful owner.
Me** watches this **
Me a few seconds later: **hugging my horse plushies because I dont have a horse **
I follow their story for years and it has inspired me to become a better partner and human fellow for my animal family. Thank you for everything Morgan and Endo
He mite not have eyes but he acts like it’s nothing he’s still a beautiful horse even with no eyes the trust he has for his owner is amazing
That horse is built beautifully
My horse has lost his eye and endo is my biggest inspiration to keep going with my horse💜
I’m so happy they didn’t give upon the horse, Thank you! He’s so cute.
I have taken care of an appy mini horse that is going blind, about 90% blind now, I would welcome any feed back from experience. I have had horses all my life and this is a new challenge for us. "Little Big" is very responsive our verbal communication, but at this point she is alone in her paddock. I am seeking another mini to be her companion. Any feedback is welcome to help us in this journey to make her have a fulfilling life.
Absolutely amazing ❤️ he's such a beautiful horse. So impressive to watch him move. His trust for his owner is so powerful.
Was very blessed to see this beautiful boy in person! Such a touching story. You can achieve anything that you put your mind to. 💕
He is so beautiful! Most disabled horses would be put down, but he is a lucky one
This Bond between horse and human Are fantastic endo is sooooo cute or beauty 🤩❤
What a beautiful boy
He is such a precious baby. I'm happy he's now able to still live his best life and be a horse.
Bless his heart!! Poor horse.❤
So glad I had the chance to meet him 😁
He looks very fit , what a moving story
Its crazy to think that a horse that is blind can jump so well this is so inspiring xx
He didn't jump well. but he did jump! and for a completely blind horse with no light perception, that is pretty amazing.
What an amazing duo. This is the true definition of horsemanship, not giving up on her horse despite his disability
Real nice to watch and see he is listening to your body and voice commands ! Lovely 😇
he’s so beautiful too!
I noticed he still winces and blinks. Wow!!!
♥ Qu'il est beau, ce cheval ! C'est magnifique ce qu'ils arrivent à faire tous les deux ♥. Merci
He owns my heart 🥺💞💞💞
Beautiful story of an amazing 🐎.
This is eye opening and inspiring and reminds you how blessed you are this truly a rockstar
Fabulous owner and horse partner!
Omg the trust of the horse😍
And he's pretty💗
I know endo personally, Senergy stables is where he used to board, I was going to have lessons and ride him, but thay had to leave due to personal surcumstances, He was the sweetest boy! His little wife Cinnamon was the cutest little thing!! Anyways yeah.
What an amazing horse.
Watching him take that jump was amazing! I always love to see owners putting in the work to make sure their horses are confident and well behaved. Endo has a great life. I assume he requires a pretty level surface so he doesn't stumble?
been following Endo for a long time... so amazing to see him & his loving human here!
Que cavalo maravilhoso❤🐴
Admiro muito a atitude dessa jovem de cuidar de um cavalo com deficiência. Eu faria o mesmo😍😊
