I've been watching cricket for 60 years. Australia and the West Indies had very good sides in the 70s & 80s. Whenever Viv dealt with thunderballs from the fearsome Lillee and Thomson the atmosphere was electric / super-charged. You just never knew what could happen. Four! Six! Six! Four! Six! Bowled! Easily the most exciting cricket I've ever seen.
I could feel his 1983 pain..180 odd off 60 overs with that WI line up..it'd have been chased 99/100 times but i dont mind it because the team which won is India.
