"It's just not safe" - Baltimore shop owner to close store after fighting off armed robber

- In Highlandtown, Jody Rosoff sits inside ‘Docs Smoke Shop,’ the business she’s owned for more than 40 years here in Baltimore.
Her mind is on the 23-year-old T-Mobile employee, identified as Fabin Sanchez-Gonzalez, who investigators say died of his injuries after he was shot during an armed robbery at the cell phone store in Canton this past Sunday.
“I’m sad for him. I'm sad for his family,” said Rosoff, her eyes filled with tears. “The PTSD that it's bringing back to me. It's crazy.”
Back in March Rosoff’s shop was robbed at gunpoint. She says it was the second time in six months.

I’m one who believes that the parole board , governors, and any one responsible for letting these repeat criminals out, should be held accountable, and possibly fined or jailed for letting them out, and putting the public in danger.

I think there should be a database on how judges sentence so the public can see their records and then vote out the ones not doing their job.

This has been going on for years and years and shop owners who DO arm themselves at least have a veil of protection of sorts. This guy was shot 2 times by her and he STILL got away. I agree with one of the other posters, bring back prison camps prison farms. The career criminal needs to stay in a protective place, but working to earn their keep, yet put away for good. Had she not armed herself we would be talking another death of a shop owner by a career criminal that will just keep doing it. I have worked in a shop downtown for more than 5 years, and the amount of times the owner watching customers had his hand on gun and at the ready, blew me away the first year. Watching him confront a robbery suspect, and standing his ground with his own gun, then have the potential thief turn tail and run. No capture, and if there was no real punishment by the system. Losing time from work to testify, and the thug gets bail and is out on the street in days. Why do WE ARM OURSELVES????? Because it is better than becoming a murder victim over the cash in your register.
