YEEEESSS!! I WAITED THIS VIDEO! Thanks you
Top video! Can you make please a playlist? Thank you!!
This tutorial is awesome! I wonder if we could technically extend this to adding NPCs on the map, adding whole buildings, adding dialogue... man, the possibilities are endless with this potential that I see. A full editor - how convenient!
then it will turn it into a gamemaker inside of a gamemaker haha
@@Gretham Haha, I was thinking of it as like a full world editor, something like what Arma 3 has.
This is very helpful! Are more episodes coming out soon?
Hey there. 💯 Percent there are more coming. I started teaching at the college so needed to make sure I was ready this week :)
Would making a parent object and having all the objects be children of that parent be useful? I'd imagine by then you'd have a scrolling menu on the left to select whichever object you'd like. What about the selection index? Surely someone would have like hundreds of objects in their game, how would we handle that? Surely we aren't gonna type every single object there is in that array? Would we add every object to a ds_list of some sort, then look for the name of that object instead?
Sorry, just really enthusiastic about this, haha! I think it'd be worth covering an advanced version of this, there's so much potential.
To be honest the more advance version would be using an array to cycle the objects with a mouse wheel or something. This is actually similar to what I will be covering in the tile editor part which is coming down the road (lighting is next)
@@GameMakerCasts Awesome, I can't wait!
