I recently watched a video of a helicopter pilot landing next to McDonald's for a takeaway lunch, and I was kind of jealous as an airplane pilot. Now I know that I can do it as well.
Reminds me of my early days flying. Great camera work and thanks for narrating. So many pilots here in the states cover up the aircraft noise with music, much of which is just obnoxious. Thanks for sharing
Your excitement on discovering the airstrip next to the MaccyD was fantastic! 🤣🤣🤣 Even bigger bonus to get the weather to do it! As they say, "I love it when a plan comes together" 😁🤣
Been watching your videos for a while now as I went through my PPL. Today I found out I had not yet subscribed! I have now. What a great mission. Thanks Terry
Very wise move to avoid the rotor-wash of the helicopter, Terry, something you don't want to be messing with 😬 What a beautiful flying day! A lovely happy-feel video with everything falling into place perfectly! Or as they say in my part of the world... perfik! (I've recently moved to Kent) 👌🏻
I've been watching for a while (just subbed) and in one of your U/L's you asked what made people watch. Well, I think '@thecrow3380' summation is spot-on....'innocent-enthusiasm'. I'll add to that with; devoid of ego or pretentious twaddle. Keeps me watching anyway...and I don't have my PPL.....I parapente (FF not powered), did a bit of skydiving in my youth and I did fly & glide when I was in the ATC...way back in the late fourteenth century (seems that long ago, lol). I do really enjoy seeing all these short fields that I had never really thought about.
Oh yes Mike Wimpy 'the home of the hamburger' not many of them left now, but you sir are on a mission, no junk for the time being :-) Thank you for the support as always.
Really enjoyable little video, thanks! My cousin once flew us from Coventry to Le Touquet for an omelette, and then we came straight back! We didn't have vlogs or go-pros in those days, wish we did!
Great box to tick!! A good 15 years or so ago, I flew into a farm strip with a pub next to it in my old Sports Cruiser - I'm struggling to remember where but it was in a similar area, just near the A14 too. It felt great to fly to the pub!! (Cokes drunk of course!)
Great, Terry. Many thanks for this entertaining adventure. Your usual mix of good preparation, safety awareness on the flight and the joy of aviation!!! I look forward to the day that I have my license and that MD do Gluten Free. You all stay safe. Greg.
another nice little video terry! glad youre having fun. you should take another trip to Solleys farm strip near Deal in Kent. They have just opened the new bar ;) and as you know the ice cream is top notch!
What a lovely friendly radio operator at North Weald. This was my favourite of all the great videos Terry, because it highlighted the beautiful simplicity of flying for pure enjoyment. Easy departure from NW and no-one at the destination (on the ground or in the air). Followed by a Maccies with an aviation headset on! 😄 Loved it!
Nice one Terry!! Yes going to say Tucker!! 😀 We have flown to Skegness airfield which is a nice strip, followed by a walk to the chip shop and a quick paddle!! perfect adventure.
A grand day out! Lovely weather as well. Have you tried a bucket hat for flying? All round protection and doesn't restrict your visibility upwards like a baseball cap. Use them for gliding, work like a dream :-).
Another awesome video Terry! I reckon that VRP is fun for pilots and ATC, lol! 😉😂 ATC: ‘You’re routing to where?’ Pilot: ‘Affirm’ ATC: ‘No, confirm your routing’ Pilot: ‘Ware’ ATC: ‘?! 🤔’
Lovely little video as always although I can't quite share your effervescent enthusiasm for a horrible McDonalds hamburger! Maybe it's just the fun way to get there that counts...
Interesting video, whats more interesting is that unless i am mistaken, my wife and I saw you land at Shoreham Airport yesterday. Both if us commented on how sleek your plane looks, then today youtube recommended me to watch this...perhaps using location data?
Watch out for gliders on a day like that. Especially with Husbands Bosworth airfield just up the road, although they should be high. A cap with a big brim probably not best.
Very cool... Already looking Autumnal out there isn't it! Nice dry short surface though. Good to have done your homework with a ground-based visit first! Any hesitations or pre-planning about flying into somewhere unknown, unmanned single-pilot in the event of coming to grief?
Hello, I just recently discovered you and just had to subscribe. Your content and production quality are downright serious and most of all I like you. The scenery and farm strips in your country are just beautiful and you must be fun to fly with. Best wishes from bush flying in South America, Mike. 👍🇺🇾🥂
Nice one Terry... one up on Noel Philips even though he has now moved to southern Texas. I don't think he managed that one even when he was based in Leics.
Thanks Graham, I loved Noels video in fact between him, Tucker and a few others I got my inspiration for this one. Cheers buddy for your awesome support.
Great video! If you fancy doing something similar elsewhere and can figure out what airstrip this is, there’s a farm strip located at What3Words position ‘///save.swinging.prepped’ in Shropshire near Tern Hill. There’s also a McDonald’s located in walking distance. I see a windsock and a caravan with the yellow C sign from the road, but have never been able to find record of it on flight charts
Great video! Can't wait to do similar missions when I hopefully get my PPL next year. I spotted the Fender cap right at the start and wondered if you were a fellow guitar player!
Right, that's it. I'm going to hire a 152 from Denham and fly into here for my Macc'ers. Thanks for the inspiration on a dull New Years Eve (work tomorrow at 6am)
Some of my favourite airstrips in New Zealand to fly into are ones with good food within walking distance of parking up my aircraft. There are a number of them around. I have yet to find any with the golden arches nearby.
Great video, subscribed! I think I'll try this from my local airport St Athan (EGDX). Sadly in VR as a PPL and aircraft is out of my budget right now. 😀One day though!
Hey Nick, really appreciate the sub. I love my MSFS and I just invested in a 39" widescreen monitor for it, but perhaps I should go down the VR route, what headset do you have?
@@ShortFieldOh VR is amazing for flight sims, almost made for it, you won't regret it. I've bought and sold way too many headsets; "cheaper than a real plane" I keep telling my wife. 😀 I have a HP Reverb G2 for flight simming, but it's older tech and I wouldn't recommend it now. The Quest 3 (launching in a week) is looking like it's going to be the best all round headset for the next couple of years. Looking forward to using it with MSFS.

Nice one, Terry :)
I will never lose the excitement of going flying, thank you so much, your kind comments and support make this so much fun to do..

I watched that too. We must be on the same algorithm.
And Tucker Gott with his paramotor
:-) I saw that as well that's so funny :-)

I seen that video too lol

Half that.
Love the extra visuals that you use, like the rotor wash indicator. Helps a lot. Great channel, subbed straight away! Best wishes from NL.

Banana Vince and a veggie burger :-)
