I remember back in 1995-96 i was going through some hard times while stationed at Ft Bragg, NC as a trooper in the duece, and this song was popular, I was depressed, oppressed going through a separation, confused and knowing it was not the will of God that I stayed in the military. When i hear this song It reminds me of how Jesus was there with me, 20 years later and I still remember those times like it was yesterday, this song always lifts me up

This is an official Classic. Jars of Clay to this day is one of my favorite bands. This song is a prayer, if much people didn't realize, asking God to lift us up and keep us from drowning.

This was one of the songs that has helped me through the sudden loss of my son in 2009 from a car crash. Nothing before or since has so thoroughly crushed me.
I have since grown closer to God, and have accepted Christ as my savior. Though the struggle continues.

She was a wiccan and really got upset at the thought of liking this song. We parted soon after that. I love this song and I'm not a christian. In fact, I'm going to learn this song with my grandson for us to play together.

Love this song. Has gotten me through so many rough days. One day I was absolutely frustrated with being in private school and I was struggling to the max with homework, had this song play on loop and didn't turn it off until I got the work done. Being in private Christian school from grades 7-10 were the absolute TOUGHEST years of my life. You'd think I was happy attending private Christian school being a follower of Christ and all, but I was actually MISERABLE. I listened to songs like this when I was feeling down but now I know that I don't even have to be sad when I want to hear this. I can listen to this and be happy knowing that while I felt lonely and hurt during those years, the Lord was holding me the whole time even when I thought otherwise. I am happy to know that this song and many others like it has touched the hearts of many people whether they believe or not. 💜

+Mimi oka Because the world has become Godless, the world loves filth. I'm Christian and love all people. I'm glad you like the song,I remember listening to it as a kid also. I don't mean to offend you or try to convert you but just want to say God Bless. This world needs more stuff like this and less Satanic crap like Lady Gaga and JayZ ect.

Wow do I ever love this song. Such memories. I miss the artistric integrity and beautiful introspective vibe of 90s music like this. I recommend "Sleeping Satellite" by Tasmin Archer if you like this song. It's a little more on that Natalie Merchant female singer/songwriter vibe but I get the same kind of chills listening to that as I do this.

I haven't heard this in a while. Always liked it. Music is one of very few things that has the power to bring all different people together in it's enjoyment. Truely has the power to calm the savage beast. Don't you think? No matter who you are or what you believe it is universal. Enjoy

I like their music because of their talent. I'm not religious. Their songs are inspirational on a level that doesn't hit you over the head with their views. I think all people can relate to their "message". I wasn't even aware they were a Christian band till well after I owned some of their discs.

That is so awesome!! This song is rather old, and it's great that it is still ministering to people these days. In fact, this song is exactly what I needed to hear in my time of sorrow. God bless you and see you in our Father's House (great Audio Adrenaline song, btw, Big Big House..check it out!)

I was a Christian in the 90s. Atheist now. I heard this song on Christian radio and had no idea it was so popular!
