- For today’s How-To-Tuesday we have one of the more popular tricks, and the tutorial you’ve requested the most! The Pull Up Barspin, or the Pick Up Barpsin.
This trick is the predecessor to the Bunny Hop Barpsin and the Fly Out or Jump Barpsin. They’re relatively an easy, safe, and fun trick to learn, and you can get them dialed in, in about 10 minutes if you really follow the steps in this tutorial!
Ethan Corriere, Brandon Begin, Connor Keating and Johnny Raekes are all Pull Up Barpsin bosses and most of them are featured at the end of this video, showing you a couple cool variations to this trick!
Please let me know in the comments about videos you want to see, other tutorials, and any other suggestions you guys might have!
Thank you everyone :)

I'm 37 and just started riding bmx with my 10 yr. old son and all your how-to videos have helped me out alot. Thanks Moe in Florence Or.
Hellya Mo! Love to heart hat :D
Maurice Ramirez me too. im 35 and wanted to give it a try.
Alfredo Mancuso Thanks For Your Videos And John Hicks Vids Too They Help Alot
Same here, 31 sons 5 1/2, I just build a custom midschool haro. I used to ride back in the day tho as well. Crazy how light all these new bikes are no wonder everyone is so skinny. Way back when mid 90s riders looked pretty jacked, those 40lb bikes were no joke! 🙃
Whenever I think of a pull up barspin, I always think of Ethan Corriere.😂😂
fucking same hahaha pull up barspin master
No lie about the 10 minute dial in! Thanks Alfredo, I watched your video, let the bars fly, now I've got another trick and a great stepping stone for the hop bar.
Cool Tip: It really is difficult to fall if you pinch your seat with your legs/knees and keep your upper body centered over the bike when you go to throw the bars. I noticed when I would miss the catch or not throw the bars hard enough, the front wheel will roll to the right slightly (if you're right foot forward and throwing with your right hand) and you naturally step your left foot down to catch yourself. I did not fall off the bike a single time. This was an awesome confidence booster to me as soon as I figured it out.
Can't wait to try it hop.
I always read the description before I watch the video... I read just "safe" and to me it is not safe at all lol... I always fall trying those haha
And I've got a problem... actually 3... long frame rea, end, short cranks, and small feet 😣😅😂
Etweeen Films when I was learning them I started by doing an x up then throwing the bars the rest of the way and it really helps for when u don't have the cheater peg
I learnt this trick with no peg. It really is just confidence and being able to get the bars to do a full rotation!
what a coincidence, the best pull up bar tutorial on youtube is made by a guy who is also left foot forward and throws the bars to the right. lucky me 👍
Ayyy hope that it helps 🙏🏻💜
Hey thanks I finally landed it and I have been trying for so long! Thanks for the tips!!! So happy
Stoked Tyler!
Keep up the great work!!
TylerTimeTV How did it take you
I remember when I was learning it way back in the day, instead of keeping my foot on the pedal and the peg, I'd put my foot on the peg only. That really helped with getting it right at speed.
Alf, you're dope. I appreciate these how-to's. And I appreciate how you like seeing when you help us learn a trick. I was the one that sent you the weak ass table I did at my local trails on IG. You really helped with my wrist wrap.
Alf if it weren't for you and your great explanations, I wouldn't have learned these. THANKS A TON DUDEE
that's the first tutorial that explains it in very many steps so you can learn it step by step very nice thx

Rest your foot on the chain stay I don’t have pegs either
@@moneyme1327 bruh idk if that’s a good idea lmao
@@eyeop3n1ng it worked for me 🤷🏽♂️ it’s not gonna destroy your chainstay
@@moneyme1327 oh bro sorry I thought u meant the actual chain lmao
@@eyeop3n1ng oh god no 😂😭😭😭
YAY I've been waiting for this! Even though I already can do them easy lol. Also should I start learning hop barspins if I can do these every time because I want to learn hop but idk if I'm ready. Can you also answer my question I left on the last video. Great how to!!
i learned this on my 10th try, i started on last christmas and im not the fastest learner. dont be afraid to try this trick its way easier than you think.
Just learned them in 1 day, your the best Alfredo
This is an awesome trick for people wanting to step their way up to bars. To be honest I learned pull up bars on straight pedal with out using the peg... No one showed me that I could just rest me heel until after I learned them.
alf's vids always brighten the evening
I'm left foot forward and I only run 2 pegs on the left side of my bike. Any tips for my right/rear foot position without a peg? Thanks
Lisa Hatfield I use no pegs, just pinch the seat tight.
Lisa Hatfield stand on your chainstay that's what I did
Great tips, thanks.
When you are announcing the winner of the Hat giveaway?
by the way i love your videos keep it up man

DINOBLADER what did you get?
Brett Lucas starting on a mongoose L100.. im gonna beat the crap out of learning. and den get a bike off dans comp or get a
DINOBLADER honestly for being a mongoose that bike is probably gonna hold us just fine for a beginner
DINO IDEAS good luck there's a lot of pain involved.
greenjoe420 thanks. i know about the pain.. because i used to ride mtb.. its totally worth it..
love those older clips. that quad pull up bar tho?! lmao that was so sick
This really helped I can pull up bar now thanks!!!
Hey that place looked familiar at the end. That barspin off the pole is SICK.
Ayy thank you!
Video really helped me in my practice
Stoked to hear that!
The end was sick!
Thanks brother Al!!!
Got these dialed today!
Very helpful vid thanks
For me it helped a lot to lern them out of a bank or over an a-frame or something. Might be a bit scarrier at the beginning since you have to go a little faster, but in my opinion it's also a lot easier.
Ty the peg trick is what I been missing
it looks so warm and nice there in LA. where I'm at today the high was 40 :(
Thanks Alf!
I wached this vid and went out and learnt bars in 30 mins
Pretty sick vid cheers
Yes yes yes yes yes!!!!! Thanks you so much
By the way that suicide to pole bonk barspin is probably still my favorite thing you've filmed. I fucking love bmx.
your How to videos are my breakfast
Thank you sir
thanks alf now I hope ill be able to do that soon ive been trying for awhile
Thank you very helpfull video. And was that john hicks haha
Peg trick is were it's at hey best tip cheers bro
We don't do that foot in the peg over here
Andy Guzman Ok?
jenesis daza lmaooo
jenesis daza lmao
I dont have peg, is it still possible without it
It is, but it’s a lot harder
Just started learning these today. I'm still having trouble keeping my bike under me even if I pinch my seat and rest my back foot on the peg. Any tips?
thanks this helped me (watchin from Europe 🌏🌏🌏)
I just learned these a few months ago (but without pegs) and I must say they are fairly easy but sometimes I jam my fingers lol.
haha same!
Upon a Burning Baby how long it took u?
I learned bars backwards too and it made switch bars really easy
i love ur channel ((:
waiting for this forever
Alfredo mancuso what size is your bike frame
It's almost time for a new complete Alfredo
You should film the trick slow motion to show the form of it. And thank you for filming how to do bmx tricks it's helping me to learn how to do tricks on my bike
thank you:>
i learnd it putting my right foot on the pedal and the left full on the peg, so there is more clearence betwen the bars and the legs
Hi Mr I'm new CZcamsr and I support you 🙏
the key that helped me learn pull up bars was to pinch the seat as hard as possible, i learned them in less than an hour using that method
I learned pull up barspins by first trying them while standing on my back pegs and then once i got comfortable throwing the bars I moved my feet up to the pedals.
thanks
I kinda disagree, about it not being dangerous .. Alfredo I'm 27. I was learning to pull up bar after rekindling my love for bmx it took me 3 weeks. and I fell a fair few times but the worst was my fingers. I would definitely recommend peopel wear Gloves, it stops bent fingers ect ..helpfull video Alfredo, it's a pity you didn't make it 2 months ago lol keep up the great work . I watch every day
haha you always gotta let em know your about that swaguuuuuuu
So im right foot forward but i only have right side pegs and i dont want to ride four pegs so am i just gonna have to learn it without my pegs or just out my right foot on the peg and just spin it to the right anyway
More speed less doubt - BSD forever!
is it bad that I put my left foot forward & still 180 & stuff to the left? everyone says I do it wrong but it's alot more comfortable for me.
When you start doing pull up barspin did you removed your front foot off the pedal ? If yes did you have any tips ?
#alfgang love the vids keep up the good work
Hey, I can finally do pull up bars. But only when my whole foot is on the peg, otherwise my bars will just drop too soon. Any tips?
PS. I DO fully control pull up bars when my whole foot is on the peg.
What freecoaster would you recommend
Is your heel always supposed to be on the peg for grinding, manual, and like 360s or 180s
No. This is just to make learning barspins easier for the kids.
One way I learned them is that I got a bike rack to hold my back tire still and I learned them being still in a bike rack because I was so scared of falling off the back. That make it easy to learn also you can try both feet on pegs first then 1 foot on peg 1 on pedal then half on peg that is the easy way the learn them
Thek you bro
Alf with the swagoo! feel better man, Try icy hot #alfgang
Should I get better at manualing before I try pull up bars? I can keep my front wheel up for only 1-2 seconds, ahaha I'm still novice af but, Out here tryna learn!
what if im right foot forward and i dont have a left back peg?I should try it without the help of the peg?
Alfredo i got a question if i pull it up do i pinch my seat directly when im at the top of my bunny hop and then throw them? Help pls :((((
can you do a smith hard tutorial
So i can pull up bar when im standing straight on my pegs, but when i put my feet on the pedals and even on the peg halfway, my arms physically wont let go and i try to tell myself to let go but i cant. Is there something i need to work on more?
Oh my god why have i never thought of putting my heel on the peg hahahaah that's genius
what if i don't have a back foot to rest my peg on, do i pinch the seat with my elbows and use telekinesis to spin the bars ¿
I can do pull up barspin with pegs but i cannot do them without peg. Should i learn pull up bar without peg or just start practicing hop barspin?
can you do a how to reverse manual with a cassette??
since its cassette you have to pedal backwards with the hub
Dope
so does the foot-on-the-peg trick get used doing hop barspin s?
No. Use your seat.
Hey alfredo if you see this you got a recommendation for tires for me? I ride street and park.
+Victor The Creature 😂😂
Victor, don't know if troll or just troll. Don't joke about it, this kid may actually buy them thinking you were serious.
I have Lagos Crawler tyres, they're ok
Jamie Bales why the hate on mafia bikes? I keep hearing people hate on them but I still haven't heard why
Jamie Bales sorry I just thought it would be funny! My fault
how do you do a pull up bar without having your foot rest on the peg? i am having a hard time pulling my bike up with both feet on the pedals. thank you for the replies in advance.
i do pullup bar bus driver but i don't put my leg on the peg i leave on the pedals is it the same thing to hop barspin ?
Is it the same if I don't have pegs
Jair Ramirez basically, only thing is, it takes more balance. Try using your upward momentum and throw your bars as you're going upwards.
