    Thank you for this video! I had no idea where the blower was because so many people told me it was on the driver side and I had to remove the gas and brake pedal to get to it. Maybe that was on the European model, but here in the USA it is on the passenger side and it was super quick to remove and inspect. I'll be replacing mine in the next day or so without paying labor. For the moment I added some oil to extend the motor a couple of days till the replacement gets here.

    I just fixed my blower motor on my 2006 titan. Before the fix it seldomly worked at all. I removed the blower, unscrewed the torx head from the blower motor bracket and removed the motor with the fan still attached. I used snips to cut a access hole by snipping out the air vent on the side of the motor. I attached sandpaper to a screw driver, inserted it inside the motor and turned the fan while I scuffed the spot where the brushes make their contact. Once that contact zone was as shiny as a new penny and I blew the dust out and I reassembled the motor into the bracket . I reinstalled the blower motor and it worked near perfect. I am in hawaii so I saved a few bucks and a long wait time

    You are officially my hero! 2011 Nissan Cube glovebox actually had 4 top screws, 3 bottom screws, and 2 inside screws. Once the glovebox was out, a few taps on the blower fan (I recognized it from your video) and the fan started to blow! Yahoo! You are magical!

    Thanks for showing us this. I wish you'd shown at the first how it wasn't working or was making noise or whatever. I have a Nissan Armada and it is making loud noise, so I am thinking that there could be debris in it (maybe). Then, if not, it looks like I will have to replace it. Thanks for all you did with this video. Makes me realize that I can do it too.

    My fan motor in my 2009 Nissan Cube stopped working yesterday. I've already taken out my glove compartment before to change the interior air filter, so that was a snap to do. I found the blower motor. Tried hitting it (ninja repair trick) but I didn't hear anything so I assumed that didn't do the trick. Unplugged it and using a tester I saw that power was going to the motor. Motor came out super easy (no bracket to move like in your video). Did the test on the battery and sure enough blower motor roared to life. I was actually bummed out as I assumed I had a dead blower motor and therefore I'd have to keep troubleshooting and maybe change the fan resistor. I put the motor back in and plugged in the power wire. I noticed I was feeling some air being blown out of the vents. Sure enough, when I cranked it up to 4, it was working perfectly fine! Reinstalled the glove box and I'm good to go!
    Maybe hitting it worked and I just didn't hear the motor (it was still installed at the time). Who knows.... all I know is I'm glad to have it running again and I didn't have to pay my local Nissan dealer $170 just to diagnose the problem (That's what they wanted when I checked with them yesterday).
    Thanks for the vid.

    Try this first though.

    For almost a year my 2009 Titan, fan would only work on "high" no matter what position I set Fan speed dial, it's on "high" except "off" is still "off"... but this morning, our fist winter freeze in central TX, I just hear a relay click - but no fan. Hope it's not a Nissan electricalproblrm again...at 181,000 already have no cruise control, problems with trailer light on built in harness, fast blink on right signal though all bulbs are good, etc... Happy this looks easy enough - reminds me of putting a salvage fan into a Ford Escort years ago: also through glove box, which worked well. . Hope this is my only problem & I won't have to hot-wire the fan (& add a toggle switch, from the lighter socket or something ignorant), -- like I've had to jump off the vehicle's tail lights to make trailer socket work again! I'll Ck fuses first, but I bet if it's some computer module or something it'll be $350 like it was when headlights failed on my cop car crown Vic: had to hot wire from the spotlight switch on the window post that time, or pend $350! Only got the recall notice on that one AFTER I sold the Vic! Thanks for posting. I hate to spend money & I think I can handle this repair !

    • @E3Racer1
      @E3Racer1 Před 5 lety +1

      That should be a bad resistor. Search YT for some videos, if you haven't already found this out - being that it's been three months since you posted this.... My problem is shittier. A mouse, or mice, decided to "move into" my duct system "somewhere". Everything seems to work, but the motor has a vibration, as if there's resistance, or a slight blockage in the duct(s). think he motor is fine, and would run perfectly outside the duct work. I'm going to have to remove the motor and use a fish tape to see if I can unblock it.... or whatever... REAL PAIN-IN-THE-ASS! My car only sat in the garage for a few days! Also, it's early March and we're having below freezing temps right now!

After watching about 15 videos and replacing my blower motor resistor due to a the fan suddenly shutting off, then coming back on, and then off at random times--NO ONE ELSE SUGGESTED TAPPING THE BLOWER MOTOR... Went out to my Frontier, couple easy taps on bottom of blower motor and BOOM! it is working. If it starts to fail again, at least now I know that it is the blower motor and not the resistor and not the switch. Thanks Ninja Master!
