Dthao92 do striped bass have migration patterns in the cali aqueduct? In other words, would you expect more stripers closer to kettleman in dec-feb than in the summer and more toward Tracy in the summer?
That's a damn lunker of a fish. A frickin truck no less. Good job, kid. I'm a casual fisherman because I'm not really nuts about eating fish all the time. But the one that you got right there is making me hungry. Good, clean, lunker of a striper. Awesome. That crab net was clutch, for sure
I’m more of a black bass fisherman, only caught 2 stripers in my life and on accident but I never realized how spoiled I am when I hear about other peoples’ pb’s who fish them all the time. 18lbs, and 23lbs. But I just thought they were all that big.. lol
Congrats my dude. Bro what location exactly we're you fishing at the California aqueduct? Cause we want to go fishing at the aqueduct but that location you were at. Thanks bro
U are not lying. I live literally 10 minutes from it and I took a video one day of over 10 cars on that bitch plus a motor home and 2 travel trailers parked on the side. I don’t see how stripers even make it down south Lol
Now I know that is the main California Aqueduct but here's a question has anybody ever used chop order pencil poppers what's a half hour before the sun rises in the morning to catch big striped bass? I myself fish the California Aqueduct now and then I've tried various experiments with different lures and they seem not to be interested in lures or for that matter topwater plugs but it is funny that the striped bass are interested in various types of baits that I've used.
Ive been fishing in the aqueducts in Maricopa and I caught some nice fish when I was younger. I dont remember exactly where I went because it was with a friend years ago just get out there and fish aqueducts lol.
It's fresh water that the Cental Valley uses for our crops. It flows through LA, Bakersfield all the way up north in to the bay where it eventualy goes into the sea. During the process its segregated into these canals throught california. Thats where we get "aqueducts".
That is fresh water being pumped from the Sacramento River and that water is used for all the farmers in the Central Valley in California and also to some of that water also goes to Los Angeles California.
My friend I have not yet met, awesome job, awesome catch,, We get strippers out here on the East coast, I,m in Massachusetts near Plymouth, ma. where the pilgrims landed, its sport fishing at its finest, Stripped Bass, what you caught is what we catch out here, we have some restrictions now, its all good, My question, hoping you know the answer, In the aqua duct for drinking water and irrigation,, ahh,,, its like fresh water,, right????????that's not connected to the ocean?????right?????, Stripped Bass don't fly out here,, im thinking how in the world those monsters getting into a fresh water canal Inland??? out here, we get them 80 pounds, rare as can be that big,, usually netted by an ocean trawler,,, how in the world are they getting in there??? Stripped Bass out here are only caught in salt water, some times brackish water,, nice job regardless. warren
i think these are landlocked stripers coming out of the san luis reservoir. if i remember correctly state record of 65 lbs came out of the san luis reservoir
I agree. When I caught my PB striper (42 inches approx. 27 pounds) at the Aqueduct a couple years back, one of my nephews shared my catch on the fishaholics FB page and the next week, the spot was jam packed.
Look at the way all the people act on a descent striper ! Those were common 15 Year’s ago! Imagine what it will be like in another 15 Year’s, people will be saying remember when there used to be big stripers ! Catch & release, if you enjoy striper fishing!
Jakeydont Productions lol calm down ranger bob it's not like he kept a 60", 18"-30" are good eating all day. Stripers are an invasive species why else do you think Hogan lake is limit 10 per person any size lol. Good catch bro make some laap!
