  • Not every reality show format would work with kids as the contestants, but there are plenty of kids who love to cook, so it’s no surprise that MasterChef Junior has become such a hit. Gordon Ramsay is famous for yelling at contestants on other shows, but he is quite gentle with the MasterChef kids, and he’s not afraid to comfort them when they cry. There are a few controversies that have arisen about the show, including the fact that kids may know what the challenges are in advance, but they haven’t hurt its reputation too much. Let’s take a look at what the biggest fans don’t know about MasterChef Junior.

I have watched both the child and adult version of this show. Its interesting....I have noticed more accidents and injuries with the adults than I have with the children. During one of the challenges in the adult show, they were tasked with cutting onions. 4 people cut their hands in the first 10 minutes. I have watched 2 seasons of the Junior show and haven't seen any injuries.

It surprised me a little that the kids were told as much as weeks before what they'd be cooking, but I guess it makes sense. It's still absolutely amazing what they come up with on their own. I mean let's face it, how many kids in this age range, especially the 8-10 year olds are even exposed to these kinds of foods? So far as what's going on with Gordan and the kids, I'm not surprised at all. It helps the kids not be afraid of the judges to see that vulnerability with all the dunking and so forth. Personally, I sometimes do question the wisdom of letting kids as young as 8 compete. On the other hand, maybe it does help them to be more confident.

Get your mind out of the gutter. The requirements to appear on the show, like being between the age of 8 and 14 by a certain date. Maybe they send in a video of them cooking.

The bias shows when they have a special second chance competition only during the season that they have to eliminate their favorite. They had one to be able to bring back Jasmine then picked her for the winner.

No, they’re correct. Maybe casting the show was a little different for the season your friend was in, but for me everything they said was correct except the audition process. The process was longer than said in the video and there were about 5 auditions that you had take part in.

I assumed they at-least gave them directions & recipes either during cooking the dish or before lol. It’s only common sense they don’t all know how to cook every single dish nor put it together nobody really does but especially that young. I also expected grown yet immature adults to try & divide a kids show with the racism remarks as well. Its even worse today then it was then! It’s about the kids having fun, following their dreams & getting the chance to have the $ for school or whatever they need. Look how innocent & happy they were for each other & so supportive. You will always have sour adults trying to ruin that. I’m sort of shocked they don’t get it until 18 but it’s smarter for those who’s parents would blow it sadly.

A basic analysis of the readily available information about curriculum will tell you people really aren't trying that hard to educate children, so the bit about school time is probably a lie.
