I met Marlo at the premiere of her movie, Jenny in 1970. I wanted to talk about her, but she turned the tables to ask me about myself. It's a trick to distance yourself from the awkwardness of a gushing fan and a good one! That girl Marlo has always stood out to me as someone special.
Regis had a kind, disarming way about him and he made all people feel relaxed and comfortable around him. I think I would feel relaxed if he was interviewing me. I always sensed that from his guests as I watched.
I love Regis! Intervening on bullies is the best advice. I would definitely watch him in a variety show, but I just don't see America ever turning in enought to keep it on the air :(
Marlo would have made a great cohost for Regis. The Regis and Marlo Show. The chemistry and respect is there. Each listens intently. It likely would have been a hit show.
I would imagine Johnny Carson/Ed McMahon had more than 10k hours on TV. Even with the guest hosts, he still appeared most nights (Ed still appeared) plus they had many years of shows that were 1.5 hours and they also appeared separately on various other shows.
I always felt for Regis that Kathie Lee Gifford constantly interrupted and talked over him. That mouth piece barely let him get a word in edgewise without Kathie Lee making herself front and center. Rest in Peace Regis.
My two favorite people, this was in 2012, just noticed Marlo say how bad the economy is & how many people are out of jobs, so it saddens me, how here in 2019, when our economy is so great & there is less unemployment than ever, that people want to make it out that our country is so awful, why cant people support America like they should & let personal feelings go & be happy, dont go with the hate that seems to be fashionable, it is really tearing our country apart for no reason, they need to be happy our country-is doing so well & could be so much better without the unnecessary hate, but back to how I started lol, I love Marlo & Regis so much, you both have made me so happy thru the years, Thank You both So Much❤
