Hi Colette and Patsy, As the human of a small canine resuce with in inexhaustable capacity for bolting, I spent many thankless hours searching for her whilst waiting for the inevitable phone call from some kind soul she had finally surrendered herself to having tired of the chase. I would never say I owned her, in reality it was entirely the opposite, she definitely owned me, but she was the sweetest, funniest creature I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life. When her heart finally started to give out as she approached 17 years of age, it was the worst moment of my life, realising that I would have to make the choice to put her to sleep. I broke my heart that day as I held her and said goodbye but I like to think of her these few years later now running free, which she could never do in life without going awol and filling me with terror, without her collar, lead or harness, chasing rabbits or whatever takes her fancy. Patsy has a wonderful life with you and a beautiful place to call home. I love watching your vlogs and putting some of your practices to work in my own small garden. You are a real inspiration. Bright blessings to you and the little girl. Debs X
❤
I like floaty dresses, they are cool and comfortable in summer heat, and look graceful.
I always wear dresses . Not particularly floaty as I'm short but shift dresses. Put it on, find some shoes and off you go. I live in Greece, so being cool and comfortable is paramount. I do know that Colette is being tongue in cheek but I just thought I'd put in a good word for frocks!
I wear dresses all the time, but my gardening dresses aren't floaty, lol! I tend to set bulbs and plants in my lap while I plant, sort, transplant, etc.
I go out early morning just to 'have a look', get involved in something that needs doing and end up being completely grubby. Thank goodness for washing machines and showers!
@@linpollock54 "I'll just check the rain gauge."
Haha! It's all good stuff! We gardeners are all the same.
Good morning from Canada🇨🇦 An hour left of my 12 hour shift in Hospice. Your videos are so grounding. Thank you for all you share Collette. Blessings🌱
My sister passed away last month the Hospice staff were truly angels x
🙏💝
Bless you too!
I love my cottage core dresses and I do gardening wearing them. Just not during watering time as they get too wet. To each her own. 😌
Its a paradise that you have there ..❤❤❤
Beautiful! I'm chuckling over "no floaty dresses", because it's silly to imagine any woman swinging an axe or chopping up green waste sweating all over her ruffles and lace 😂. I've seen some of the slow living videos that portray slow life so unrealistically. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and for the reality check.
I indeed watched Hanna Lee Duggan going about her tasks in a white cotton flowing dress last week. She did admit she wasn’t dressed for the job😂
My gardening dresses are pretty sturdy and don't have ruffles or lace.
Dearest Colette and Patsy,I have been watching you for years. When I watch your videos a sense of calming comes over me,I feel so at peace.Thank you Colette and Patsy,Blessings.❤️
Good morning from my my little summer home in the Icelandic 🇮🇸countryside wher I have been growing trees and perennials for 25 years. I love your videos, they make me feel so good
She’s a miracle dog, meant to be your companion!
We have a runner too. Greyhound that was rescued and made her owners money they didn’t deserve. Now she is loved and pampered to try to make up for all those years of hard work. Fastest dog I have ever seen in my life! God bless. 😊
I have two rescue borzois & they are the laziest borzois I have ever had lol. I can let them off the lead as they are biddable & just follow on our country walks & they can't even be bothered to chase a rabbit if they see one!

Maya, my young whippet, runs like the wind.
A selfie-stick artfully deployed is truly a Magic Wand 🪄 !!! You lucked In with Patsy. She is a Sweetheart. 🥰 -V
Simple elegance..That’s how I describe your property. Not shabby, not manicured; Very well cared for and very well loved. Actually, not just your property, but your cottage and your dog! Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication!
Beautiful video.. as always. Thank you Colette, sweet and delicate inhabitant of this temporary home of ours..
Your nice living.. your gentle walking on mother Earth's heart, they are food for thought and pearls of wisdom. Blessings to you and to all the little friends of your land❤
So very peaceful and lovely. Thank you once again for sharing all of this beauty. I am so grateful.
Brilliant, I agree it's best for Mother Nature to do her thing, & help only when required. Everything looks Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful as Always! Lot's of Love & Many Blessings Colette & Patsy❤🐝🌹🐛🌻🐸
Thank you for sharing your magical woodland. It's like a piece of heaven.
I have a few rats in my garden & they don't bother me. They eat the bird seed along with the birds but tend to disappear when summer comes as I live near cornfields & countryside. They are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet, so I wouldn't hold out much hope about them not figuring a way to get that seed lol. I actually love rats & used to keep them 20 years ago & watching the wild ones got me wanting some more. I am the now proud owner of three baby girls & they are a delight, so clever!
Sweet, sweet Patsy! A miracle she survived!!!❤
Little Patsy always looks so happy, she has a lovely life. I've lived with Jack Russells for over 50 years, they are wonderful dogs with busy, strong characters.
Colette we always like walking around your woodland. Thank you for sharing. Hugs and love to Patsy and you ❤
A beautiful day at Bealtaine Cottage. Thank you for the walk-about today, Colette. It was heavenly as always. 💚
Is it that we walked out of the "garden of Eden" and into the City (to cut a long story short) thus turning away from Mother? Are some of us having the Good Grace to turn back and pick up the threads and weave ourselves back in to the Web? Out of the head and in to the heart.
Lovely dancing dapples of light in your driveway - magic.
🍀🙏🍀
Poor Patsy, I didn't know she's been through that trauma. Coming to you must have been so healing for her. Beautiful video, thank you!
Hello Colette I agree with your comment on leaving cuttings to become part of the earth once more. I do it all the time with my cuttings especially under the Bamboo and privet hedging , it takes time but I have plenty of that.
Loose strife is a particularly colourful addition to any garden, I have it growing in large pots in abundance, it's stunning. Hugs and Blessings 💚🌹
It's so peaceful. I love watching the birds and I love your idea of the deterrent made with the pots on the stump. ❤
Putting that bench along the drive is brilliant! So nice to have a place to stop and rest.
Looking fab Colette x
I love this chop and drop idea. Makes so much sense even for my small garden
I find your videos so relaxing 🌿🌛🌎
Beautiful video lesson Colette about creating your woodland paths and placing cuttings by emulating nature and leaving a habitat piles and the paying attention to kindness toward the chain of life. ❤ You with Patsy are a gracious pair sharing your precious thoughts on honoring all life and the peace, joy and creativity in your daily lives with us. Many 🙏🏼 thanks.
My view of Mother Earth has been refreshed and renewed by this video. Thank you!! ❤
Good morning Colette, I love the idea of the upturned pot to deter the rats a brilliant idea! I will have to do the same! Blessings to you and dear little Patsy ❤❤
👍👍👍
I love Donkeys. patsy is so lovely, you are just the goddess to be her mom.😊❤
Decaying vegetation on the ground is so important for the soil. I got myself a shredder and shred the hedge trimmings to give the result back to the soil. It also protects the soil from drying out.
Dear Colette every inch of the Land also the Cottage,
is yours , and yours and yours ,
you are so wise , how I absolutly love following your paths
blessed was the day for Patsy to find life at Bealtaine Cottage .
with her brave mommy Colette .

Once I was studying Hassidic Judaism and we learned that the Torah mentions to not pray over areas that humans have altered, like rivers, etc. and only to pray over lands unchanged by humans.
I love that.❤️
I would imagine by now that all land has been touched.
My rescue dog Rosie is a bolter, too. I found out the hard way 😊
Thank you for another beautiful video 🤍🪴🤍
This has been such an inspirational video for me. I have my beloved land where I am now retired and have been making my own micro cultures. My friends always comment on how wild it is. To me it’s just nature giving her beautiful abundance. ❤
"Chop and drop" - I do this as well...
Same thing with leaves in the fall. If you leave most of them (instead of bagging them up in plastic + having them picked up) not only will it allow beneficial insects to over winter, but it helps naturally suppress weeds in the spring months. Best free mulch, ever.
I just Love the bird feeder you made from the tree and pots ❤ you're so Creative and I have your Love of all living things, I also feed the birds, squirrels and insects in my Garden which is very small on an Apt patio, but I learn something from you in every video you share with Us ❤ Thank you 😊
You and your garden are amazing, Colette! Thank you for another video.
Good Morning Colette….
So glad you have the Mike…makes a difference…and I can still hear the birds and the rustling of the leaves…have a great day and hello to Patsy❤️
Hiya Colette, Thankyou for sharing Bealtaine and all its creatures who live there. Blessings Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
I LOVE the bench idea, and donkey's and horses are my favs. I wish things would grow here like they do there. We are in a terrible drought right now here in middle TN. But our soil is rock and clay, it takes A LOT of work to get things to grow.
Watching you and your gorgeous garden all the way from a sweltering Cyprus. I yearn for the lush greens of winter... In summer everything here gets a dusty cover - no rain except in the mountains.
Oh, thank you, Colette!
Your gardens are so beautiful and peaceful - thank you for sharing them with us.
Birds are appreciating the potted food holder. 🐦🌲
Hi 👋🏻
Lovely day to you.
Looks beautiful.
I have the same comfy romper!
Looks great on you.
Awwww Patsy darling I didn`t know about the accident but you are in the best home now. Oh Colette it`s just more and more beautiful in your environent. as summer goes on. You are so correct with your attitude towards helping maintain Mother Natures gifts, If only more people would follow and they too would want to be outdoors enveloped in such beauty. Big Hugs to Patsy and thank you so much for your films, they are incredibly healing for many, E x.
Todays moving day for me, so I'll be running around all day. Thanks for providing a peaceful break to prepare me for it. I'm so thankful that I can come to Bealtaine for a bit of respite. You rock, Colette!
This was such a peaceful and beautiful video. After a long hard day at work, this is just what I needed to unwind. Love seeing the birds and loves seeing your beautiful little dog. Thank you.
You and Patsy are wonderfull. If everyone on dear mother earth treated her as you do Collette. What a wonderful place it would be.Wow!You work so hard. What a beauiful havenfor
I love living there through watching your videos....how wonderful
beautiful . . . thank you for sharing your love of Nature . . . very very beautiful
It really is a wonderful life
Love the chop and drop!
I remember you getting PATSY.. My first thing I said was all Jack Russell s are escape artists..we have had servial over the years.. My sister has one called Milly she could be PATSY s sister... She had one called Bertie and he was always getting out and ever though she has 5 acres of land he went much further than that and we had a search party out for him only to find he'd been picked up buty a Neighbour miles away... My granddaughter has one called snoopy he escaped from the dog sitter on the day of her wedding OMG IT NEARLY ruined the day she was threatening not to get married,,😝,, we got through the day eventually he was found 9 o'clock that evening.. I said he wanted to be involved and be at the wedding well they carried him in to a great raw of relief the dj played the song 🎼who let 🎵the dogs out🎶...😂😂😂.... So yes we know letting jrs off the lead is not a good idea.. ❤️🙏❤️
Absolutely love the ending 😂 oh I can imagine how worried your granddaughter was, they are little rascals ❤
My Jack Russell Darby was the most infuriating little dog. He wanted everything to revolve around him. He had the greatest sense of humour - I could actually see him grinning when he had done something funny. I let him off the lead the second day after i got him from the rescue. I just knew he would not run away - he had 100% recall. It will be 4 years next month since he had to leave me. I miss him so, so much.
❤❤❤❤ from New Zealand. I Sooo miss the beautiful British wild plants and birds. A part of my soul is missing.
Ah, your beautiful "Eden", walking with Pats, the "Little Explorer". So peaceful this video was, made me happy. Take care.❣❣
I love your garden and land. The new secret garden area is a nice addition. I used to make wreaths from wisteria. Natural materials are so appropriate in a garden. The bench is a good idea, a place to sit and reflect. I dreamed of having land to play with and design. Because I can't settle on one style I would have a Japanese area, a fairy garden, a classical area, a modern sleek design area etc. all with benches and comfy seating, lighting and appropriate decor. Maybe a center hub to reach the rooms.
Colette, you always look so well presented. I love your clothes and style.
I am deeply in love with your gardens too
You have blessed yourself with much beauty. I love it so much.🤗
I’ve got 2 Dashie rescues…one is a hunter, runner so best kept on a lead at all times…love them so much. Love the wildlife too…
Your woodland is absolutely divine.
Your woodlands are so beautiful. I love it.
i had a cozy sunday and thought of you and miss patsy today. I am loving this new format; being able to see your facial expressions along with your voice just takes the emotion to a next level for me.
My Pepper is a rescue and I keep her on a lead but I am working towards a day that I have a lot of land where she can run around. One day.
Hello sweet love. Your earrings are flattering. Love your hair like that too and as always, engaging conversation in a landscape that smells Divine. Thank you Our Love for this
We used to have lots of bird song around my home. Then a pair of nesting hawks moved in about 3 years ago. They must migrate south in the winter because there’s a period of time in the spring when the birds sing again. When the hawks arrive everyone goes silent. These hawks moved in, I think, because there are rabbits, mice, squirrels and many small birds to feed on. We have very tall trees in our neighborhood. I miss hearing birdsong but it has been interesting watching the baby hawks grow and become hunters themselves. These hawks kick the babies out of the nest before they can fly. They spend about 6 weeks on the ground strengthening their flying muscles. The parents are always close by and will dive bomb anybody or any other animal that gets too close.
I had to laugh at the no floaty dresses! Dresses are wonderful for the heat, but when I'm digging in dirt, more coverage the better.
What a brilliant idea for a ratty proof bird feeder! Blessings to you and Patsy x
Sending love and blessings to two lovely souls, Colette and Patsy ❤❤
I swear to dawg I have the same jumper. I love watching your videos. You are lovely. Thank you for sharing your wonderful life with us.
Hi Colette! Such a sweet video with Patsy and the donkeys. Your property is so beautiful. I love your chop and drop method for the paths, they are perfect for our environment. You´ve got it all down to a science Colette, and you are so thoughtful and careful with everything you do. I too believe that we must learn to live in harmony with nature; you are a perfect example of how this is very possible; I learn something from every video!! Love you Colette, Blessed Be )O(
Hello Colette, little Patsy is the bee’s knee’s! I also had a little one that I had to keep on a lead. Just an idea for you- I got tired of always having one hand having to hold onto the lead so if I was in my yard, I had a rope I tied around my waist and hooked through the lead. If I was out and about hiking, I would use a leather belt around my waist or a pretty scarf or hooked it to my fanny pack. Some of the times we got in a tangle, lol but most of the time it worked brilliantly. Just thought I’d share in case you haven’t thought about it, love your videos thank you🙂🩵🌺
Emerald I am a poorly person and use equipment to get around outside. I used to do exactly what you did. My hands sre weak at times and my baby was too prescious to me to tske the risk. Plus I kept both hands free
Hello To you and Patsy I love your voice so soothing and love the walks around your garden and cottage
Totally agree with you I chop and drop thanks to you will be doing some it today. Your garden looks amazing it’s more than a garden it’s a paradise .👍☹️😀
What an inspiration you are! I’m so thankful for your videos!
Patsy is so cute! Love your videos they are very relaxing 😌
Such a beautiful environment 🤗
The donkeys are so cool. I love watching Patsy

Your garden is magical!
Great video! lovely tour and catchup! 🌸
Gorgeous! Thank you for the lessons!!
You are looking fabulous! Oh, Patsy too!😊
Always love walking around your garden with you. Every time we come to the stone circle, I wonder why you don't have a labyrinth, but that's just me, I love walking a labyrinth.
Stunning Colette
Love your garden. Love your love for the garden. If you live on the land, take care of it, and are happy doing it, your deserve respect and admiration.
Forgive me to suggest a dedicated video: would be lovely to share your labours in the garden, namely how you deal with pratical stuff, like weeding the driveway and pathways, prunning, etc. You make it seem so easy, and, as someone doing something alike (tanks for the inspiration) i known how much work it is!
Collette has made tons of videos on gardening, look back through the last 12 years of her channel, and her website!
@@radicalcartoons2766 belive to have seen dozens, since the begginning...but miss it then. Mean, actual images of the work been done, not explinations of the work after it.
My headache is squirrels they have all seeds and I have bought all different holders. Any ideas. Love the garden as always 😊😊
How amazing to find you!
Oh COLLETTE I'm not going bore everyone with my garden Rats story,,, all I'm gong to say is the mission impossible advert with the squirrel is exactly what we did to try and stop the rats eating our bird food... Ha ha... Nooooo they are so clever if you stop them with this I will be forever in your debt but I have my doubts they are super clever.. 🤣🐀
Beautiful video. Colette, you are glowing with beauty. Many thanks for sharing.
Loved this video! I learned so much - Thank you!!
Your secret garden is absolutely stunning! And thanks so much for explaing how you do the chop and drop. I would like to try that. I do have many branches and i would like to mulch them and get free mulch but I cannot afford a mulcher that would handle branches. Although most of what i cut down is weeds and diseased branches, so I don't want to use those.
Thank you for your loving words about all creatures. You are speaking the words of my heart. Blessings to you, Colette and greetings from germany 🌳🌻🌍
When I lived in Ewelme there was a donkey. Loved him, I was a child. He was called "Jack the Donkey"
I loved this.
Morning Colette
