“You watch this and you can’t help but think: The 90’s were when we all peaked, weren’t they? It’s all been downhill ever since…” - @jimwillis9257 I think you’re right, Jim.
Although I’ve loved Going for Gold “ since it’s release , I’d never heard this song ( I am 57 in 2021 ) but when a younger workmate had a ticket for SHED7 / CAST at BOSCOMBE ACADEMY ( Bournemouth O2 ) 3 years ago , i jumped at the chance to go somewhere. As I waited at the gig bar I found myself amongst a group of chums whom must’ve been only 20 yrs old maximum . They enjoying themselves lots and sang every single word of this tune at the tops of their voices - co entertaining as SHED were on stage doing the number ! The place was packed , the vibe was fantastic SHED7 & CAST were brilliant , plus SHEDs’ singer has a great stage presence - kind of like Micheal Barrymore meets a Gallagher Brother ..Thankyou SHED7 for that night ❤️
Truly wonderful song and video. It is such a joyous celebration of music. Like a few people here, I have strangely only just chanced on it. In my case, it was thanks to Chris Moyles playing it in his excellent New Year’s Eve set. Thank you Shed 7 for making such an aspirational and uplifting piece of music. And the video - from story line, casting, dance routine and filming - is the perfect accompaniment. It adds to an already great piece of work. Very well done and thank you to all concerned.
Aguante Shed Seven!!!
Remember a gig in the 90s we were waiting on the support act who were shed seven and these fellas next to us started walking up from the crowd, little did we know it was them, bizzare entrance, great stuff though, well played lads.
Bit late in remember this absolute tune...I hate when it takes you so long to find your own little music haven...this song was so under8ed when it was released many moons ago AAAHbody loved it tho hahaha.....AND sad but true that classics like this are so quickly forgotten about.. well they are in Dundee anyway!!!
Saw these guys perform this song at "Sign Of The Times" festival earlier this year, joined by Bez and Saffron from Republica. It was EPIC! Also, the girl on the ticket desk in that club in the video is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life!
The offical opposition saw them at Isle of White Festival yesterday. I've been saying to her for years they were easily the most talented band of that genre from the 90s. She texted me at the end of the gig (never having listened to Maximum High etc) to say they were brilliant - she also said the younger Gallagher Spoon was rubbish - then he fell out of his helicopter - sums him up really.
This video is exactly what the 90s was about, cutting around like The Warriors in clubs, fighting off polo shirt wankers then line dancing the night away. Possibly the coke helped 🤧

@@Beatles.lassie To be honest, I actually believe it is the old Ziggys Nightclub on Micklegate. Spent many a night in there. Just the stairs with Rick walking down them, Fibbers never had stairs! Plus the bar where he is arguing with the "Fred Perry man" looks like the back downstairs bar? Ziggys had that Double-sided Bar where you could get served from both sides and that looked straight down the dancefloor, to the back of the club. That is the angle where the final dance scenes look like they were filmed.
We been coming to York John Smiths cup day since 1991 and I definitely recognise this club from about 94/5?? The one I'm thinking is an old sort of building that has about 8/10 steps up to the entrance, maybe an old theatre type place? Love York, beautiful!!
You watch this and you can’t help but think: The 90s were when we all peaked, weren’t they? It’s all been downhill ever since…
was a bit leftfield for them but best song they did for me

most underated 90s band

Still one of my fave Sheds tracks🧡
How are they not 100 times bigger?!
My favourite Shed Seven song..love it ❤

Great to see the video back online, such an awesome track and great to see the lads having fun!
I must have watched this video a hundred times and have only now just noticed the bouncer dancing on the far left of the second row!
Best thing to come out of York since... well, best thing to come out of York

Never saw this back in the day - cracking tune, classic video. That face Rick’s pulling on ‘yearn’... Brilliant.
Agreed. Seen these boys at Queen's Belfast circa 97 when doing me GCCE'S. LOVED YA THEN AND LUV YA NOW. PEACE XXX
Love it ♥
Best ever band from York.
We're they?
What about Thom Yorke?
The new York dolls ?
Tune
Love love love it
Brilliant laugh the video and great song of course, the instrumental bridge like a Starsky And Hutch theme that never was!
Fantastic song and video!
めっちゃかっこいい!
音楽ももちろんいいけど、踊ってるの可愛い❤️
Remember this in the office in 99/2000

Is that jack black the bouncer. Only just noticed after the millionth time watching 😂😂
First band ever seen and they were epic
Me too
Can't remember much after the show but they were fucking great so was the seahorses
Brilliant live
30% liam gallagher + 70% richard ashcroft = Rick witter
Some bands these days definitely took inspiration from this
Why has this only just been put on? Buzzing there is FINALLY a video for it 😁
Woe guys miss you

Can't help but think their name held them back. Shame, because they were/are extremely talented.
Classic
Thanks Leach
Keith Dyce raved about this band.
👌🏾👌🏾
Fab
Love this video
My dad went to school with the guitarist and lead singer
Same.
Bro?
Alan Shed Seven Leach taught me the drums. Ask him
Great pastiche 😂
Never listened to them. I am fan of Pulp but this is really good!
I hear a Tilbrook/Difford influence here.
Really? As a Squeeze fan I have to say, I can't.
I hear it
I see the Inbetweeners dancing.
Mon the sheds
Rick really tried to look like Richard Ashcroft here
Difficult not to imagine Tim Minchin sing Shed this and most of Shed Seven.
This video is exactly what the 90s was about, cutting around like The Warriors in clubs, fighting off polo shirt wankers then line dancing the night away.
Possibly the coke helped 🤧
This really made me smile! So true and the coke and E’s most definitely helped 🤣
Coca Cola or Pepsi?
All the attention went to Oasis but Shed Seven were just as good a band, if not better IMO.
I love shed seven, OCS, verve etc, but oasis had some decent song 👍
Away good not great, Mondays or rose's now then
Shed seven had such charisma, Oasis were up themselves....
Ah, they were both great. We don't know what we had.
Nahhhh, Good band but not Oasis.
2:14 Tim Burgess?
My thoughts exactly.
Peter Dinklage surely
Mystery solved: The gentleman in question is actually called Fraser Smith. Although he does look rather Tim Burgessy.
@@tcaudiobooks737🙌🏻
Is the '(Stereo)' in the title really necessary for an upload in 2019?
Better than mono 😂
@@spartacusm140i7 It's for a song from the 1990s not the 1940s ... You do realise how long stereo has been around, surely?
That Tim Burgess at 2.15?
I scrolled down to see if anyone though the same thing, had to double take. But in reality, no clue.
Love it when Rick nearly falls over at the end
Did they just rhyme together and forever lol
Good enough for Rick Astley!
Well you could be friends of mine
I see your pondering
But the pleasure will be mine
I do feel hungry even though I've had the share
I'll keep shouting out loud to convert the herd
Got to spread the word to the non believers yeah
And the drummer must try holding times together
Cos the rest of us can keep it tied forever
Feels like I've been to every single disco all around
Another night, another town
It's time to burn this disco down
A higher place on higher ground
I've heard the sounds and do you like it now
Another night another town
Its time to burn this disco down
Well you could be magnetised
I know your wondering but for you I will oblige
If you try harder to persist in what you feel
Then you could push me down
Am I making me heard
Got to spread the word to the disagreers yeah
And the plastic must keep spinning round forever
(Round round)
And the memories will flood and keep us together
Feels like I've been to every single disco all around
Another night, another town
It's time to burn this disco down
Feels like I've been to every single disco all around
Another night, another town
It's time to burn this disco down
A higher place on higher ground
I've heard the sounds and do you like it now
Another night, another town
Its time to burn this disco down
Thank you for the lyrics

I wonder where the goofy dancing guy's career path took him.
Anyone know where this was filmed ?
