I hear a lot of pain in there though, it sounds as though he took a lot of shit over the years from people who were really jealous that his parents were so famous. I mean let's face it having Eddie Van Halen for a dad is a hell of a pedigree and a lot of people are really toxic and would be inclined to say some pretty shitty things to him over the years I have no doubt. Putting up with that must have been really tough for him. Finding his own voice through all of that was a remarkable feat. I have nothing but immense respect for his talent and artistry.
