- Hi guys. On this video I'll be showing you how to fit a new uv sterilizer to my koi pond as the old one died! Also a look at the nexus 220 filter.

The pond would look fantastic if you added a couple of potted water lilies for the lily pads and the flowers! All you'd have to do once potted is add root tab fertilizers to the pots every month or so during growing season, and to move the pots into the shed covered end of the pond for winter and to move them back outside for the warmer months.
wouldnt even have to move them .. he covers his pond so they would be ok .. not sure if they would get enough sun though he said its mostly shaded too .. think lilies need more sun .. but would be a nice touch :) love the pond though

I bought and installed the evolution aqua 25 and within 5 days my pond was crystal clear. I also put sponges round my pond pump which filtered a lot out too. Fab product
Looking good well done all I do is to my pond is when I'm putting the water back in i made it run a little bit slower but very well done good video lot to learn for people out there Keep up the good work

the koi are looking really good.. that little uv sterilizer heater looking one is cool never seen those b4 and that would be so easy to add to my filter i made.. going to see if i can find them.

Mine packs up every year. I just change the ballast. I buy one off ebay for about £20. Works perfectly after.

Spot on Mark. Very neat UV unit. Much better than the old one. I really like that pond of yours. Looking forward to some summer footage. It's getting to winter here in South Africa so anything green will be welcome lol. Any plans to extend the shed in future?
There will be lots of summer footage of the pond. and I would love to extend the shed but sadly have no more room. ☹

Hi guys, just come across this video, thankyou for the instructions. Is there an updated version of this model now that we're in 2022 or is this model still as good? I'm currently looking to add a uv to my set up and these clarifiers look nice and tidy but I've seen models that look a bit different 🤗

Could the koi be rushing the waterfall and the hose not out of play but for some other reason? For example, is there any chance they are desperate for more oxygen or some other resource?
Brilliant video , if anyone wonders why with the antidote for the potassium permanganate dramatic aquatics has a quite distressing video on their channel where one of their customers ? did not have it to hand ! I believe its called when koi treatment goes wrong .
I have fitted a few of the larger versions of the EA filters over the years and I reckon they are very good.
Why EA still send the Nexus out with standard K1 is beyond me.
Keep an eye out for a delivery tomorrow.....
Pondguru Hi mate. Yes there great little uv's. The nexus would run better with k1 Micro for mechanical filtration would work better.Home all day 😀🖒 Thank you.
None of the EA filters are capable of taking micro media due to the size of the screens as far as I know. That's crazy they are are knowingly sending out filters which could be made to have 40% more filtering capacity (biological) if they only changed the media to Hel-x or K1 micro. It's a strange one for sure....almost like they have a huge warehouse full of old K1 they need to use up before they get round to altering their filters, lol
I'm going to make a sleve of fine stainless steel mesh to go inside mine then fill it with k1 Micro. That should work well along side the bakki shower that's on my list of things to build.
Don't rush into making a sieve to enable the filter to take micro, man. I sending you some hel-x out, lol
However, you can mix all the media types no worries.

Hi, Great video. I just bought one for my pond. The same 25w version. Can the inlet and outlet be either side of the UV. I have my water going in on the right.

Do you have to stop water flow to change the bulb?
Hi Neil. The bulb is housed in a waterproof quartz tube so the bulb never comes in contact with the water. But its best to switch off water pump when doing maintenance. 😀👍
