Haven’t touched my guitar in three years. Used to play 3 to 5 hours a day. Was a working singing guitarist for 25 years. A heartbreaking divorce took the wind out of my sails and has yet to return. Listening to Molly sing and play has stirred a crosswind. Maybe my passion will return soon. It’s been lonesome. 🎶

Yeah, me too, Chuck. I've played acoustic for almost 46 years and I've been in a rut for quite some time. Even quit playing a week or so ago. But watching Molly has inspired me like crazy. I am now officially hyped. Oh, my fingers are sore. Ignore your callouses and they will flee! 🤔

Same thing.....years ago after a divorce, my guitars held no interest from my depression. But I feel the universe sends inspiration to us when the time is right. It happened to me, and I'm happy it has happened to you.

If you play acoustic music of any kind the world needs your music. Everything in modern times is conspiring to tell you differently. Give yourself a reason: go to a hospital or nursing home- they're desperate for people. Get out of your own head- if you played for that long you've got talent- maybe even a gift. Don't let any more time go by. The passion comes back AFTER the fact of picking up the guitar- not before. All the best, let me know how it goes.

Molly is a wonderful teacher. I love the crosspicking explanations and the comparison to the melody/chord way of playing the song. It’s a real bonus when she sings as part of her lesson; that in itself is a great experience.

Teenage Mollie helped many of us all over the county at local guitar shops learn how to listen to a guitar and how to differentiate between guitars, how to sell a guitar, and buy a guitar with her demonstration videos. She is a role model for how to build talent and a career with family, non stop working at it, and relentless you-tube style videos throughout the music industry. Even if she did that and nothing but that she is a gift. And to hear her play and then to hear her sing her new collection of songs . . . and now she is teaching us how to play acoustic guitar in fluid detail. She is so freakin grown up now and teaching us a masters class. And maybe pioneering something between bluegrass and country pop. A sneaky banjo has found a way to morph through social media.

She makes this look like it's nothing. This is hard! Yea, I can hit all the notes, but she makes them sound like music, even when she's just demonstrating how to do things. And I really appreciate that this video was not another zoom in on the left hand video like so many others. Molly is doing this the correct way. Without a well disciplined right hand, the fretting hand is no more than an unfulfilled promise.

"Take the Journey" ... I love that song. So much that I looked up Live On My Green FM Music Festival: Molly Tuttle - CZcams and put it on my queue. There's a couple of bonus songs, there, too. I also looked upt the "official" version. It's one of the few times that company has done the song justice, they were with it and enhanced it. All this is cutting into my busking time, but the temptation is too great.

But hey, I thought her main genre is even older than that, so I’m really glad punk and rock were somewhere in there in her youth too! On a more serious note, I recently picked up a 1985 lawsuit copy of a Martin d18 by Takamine. The inside smells really old and the wood on top, like the one Molly is playing in this video, is yellowed. £250 and I love it to bits. By the way, Molly's recent Leeds, England gig got me back to practising. What an inspiration.

Love the way you play. I kind of play like that but not as perfect as you. I have trouble getting past the 3rd fret but thats ok with me. I wanted to learn banjo and attempted it many times until finally I said no more guitar until I learn Banjo. That took 3 months and then I could play average. When I picked up my guitar I keep doing the stupid picking sequence but I modified it to make it sound good. At this point I have no clue what I do but it sounds so much better than the boring strum strum strum.

The content is phenomenal, Mollie is an incredible creative player and teacher to be able to combine banjo and guitar style to come up with her unique hybrid sound. Sadly, Acoustic Guitar really dropped the ball here when they had their chance to make an incredible video as the sound is hugely distorted, editing is horrible and the video photographer should have come in close so people could really see what she is doing. This deserves to be redone with more professional production work. Split scene would compliment this tremendously as there is a lot going on with both left and right hands that creates her sound. I would love to see this redone and would buy some lessons from Mollie if they were done professionally and I hope Mollie will pursue this in the future. Sorry to be critical and my comments do not reflect on Mollie's wonderful talent, my criticism is entirely with the poor production work as her amazing talent deserves better.

If I had the ability to be a cartoonist, I can imagine one where Molly is singing and playing, with little thought bubbles coming up from her, depicting the lyrics and music, various cross-picking patterns, flat-picking, hammer-on's, rest strokes, strumming patterns, modal tuning with different chord shapes to standard, clawhammer angles of attack, finger strumming, etc., etc., etc.! Then I'd be sitting there smiling, enjoying the performance, with one thought bubble, containing a Play button....
