    Once I was in Adelaide I was on a man bus that blue bell stop light there. The one I was on the writing was green on a white background. From the back seat of the bus the bell sound was very loud

    Isn't 3001 the most annoying bus on the network or is that a different bus? I remember one bus is super temperamental but not sure if its that one.

    All three of the trial articulated buses are rubbish, the lack of dealer support is what killed them.

    Hi Riley 👋, this is an interesting video and it seems your excitement for this bus is contagious. I am surprised at how similar the driver's cab is to our older Sydney buses even to having the identical cash tray and no safety screen which I prefer. The driver was very enthusiastic in wanting to explain the workings of the ticket machine but unfortunately the group were talking over him. The a/c may not have worked efficiently because a roof hatch adjacent to the filters was open. This is a gas bus and could be a reason for its unreliability (I am judging it with the experience of a Sydney gas bus) but I could be totally wrong. I never understand how people can leave such a mess and not tell the driver. This bus sounds amazing and again quite different to the Sydney variety. Excellent video Riley, well done 👏

      @rileythedude  Před rokem +1

      Yeah the gasbuses over here aren’t that reliable either. They seem to have fixed the issue which was the reader or feeder or something giving the engine too much gas and it couldn’t burn to properly so it would misfire and break.

    • @aussiejohn5835
      @aussiejohn5835 Před rokem +1

      @Riley The Dude Yes, that was the problem with the early gas buses here, especially in hot weather, which would cause problems with the regulator. They also gave false readings regarding the fuel levels with them showing that the bus had more bars of gas than it actually did, which caused the bus to run out of gas often during a trip.

    Interesting how you claim its the most unreliable bus, when it has the highest milage out of the gas demonstrators... Very curious to know where you get your facts from 🙄

    • @rileythedude
      @rileythedude  Před rokem

      Well it’s one of the most reliable with it going out of service but out of the demo’s it’s probably the best. I wasn’t as knowledgeable as I was now back then and said a lot of silly things. 3000 & 3002 are less reliable especially with the mis firing issue on this one completely ironed out now.

    • @misterrocks3035
      @misterrocks3035 Před rokem

      @@rileythedude Calling 3000 "unreliable" also shows a lack of knowledge of what's transpired over the past few years. It's more of an unfortunate alignment of several different factors, that are hindering that bus; it was running quite well in late-2019/early-2020. There are couple of videos online that show that (the commenter above having posted one of those, which documented it on a late nightshift).

    • @rileythedude
      @rileythedude  Před rokem

      @@misterrocks3035 I do know quite a lot you would be surprised, my “lack of knowledge” is on these few buses as I am yet to ride 3000 & 3002 though I do know quite a bit about them more then most enthusiasts my age. Compared to most buses of the same age or slightly newer these are objectively not as ‘reliable’ due to their rarity in large part especially on the one of a kind Scania L94UA (3000) since there is a difficultly sourcing parts. The MAN NG313 (3001) would be the easiest to source parts for as they have I believe 29 or 30 in Brisbane. Also the fact that these are all CNG unlike the B12BLEA’s that were eventually makes them inherently ‘worse’ and less reliable

    • @misterrocks3035
      @misterrocks3035 Před rokem

      Parts have nothing to do with 3000's lengthy time off traffic, nor unreliability (whether perceived or real). The L94UA could be found with many operators across Australia, and CNG L94UBs operated in large numbets both in Brisbane, and (still) in Canberra. It is the same basic chassis engine, and very basic carburettor-style Impco gas system for most, if not all L94 CNGs. Nothing particularly special about it, really.
