Phones are e-waste, retro consoles are not.
Console will never slow down due to Google's bloatware. They don't have killswitches. They are highly repairable and moddable. And they always be relevant since their purpose is to play retro ROMS which are the most stable kind of cross platform software.
You can literally use them forever and pass it to your grandchildren.

They are built using avalable parts from other devices: chipset from an old routers, repurposes blackberry screens and I am certain the same shell is used by multiple devices with slight modifications.
The fact all this stuff that would normally end up in a landfill was put together and given purpose like you said is amazing.

@@STR82DVD I heard something about that. Them releasing a new PSP would be freaking exceptional! ❤️
For the longest time, I just wrote Sony off as too dumb to tell what the market truly wanted when it came to handhelds.
I still remember them killing the Vita prematurely and then defending this decision by saying something along the lines of: "smartphone games are superior, and everybody has a smartphone".
They literally panicked themselves out of the portable handheld market a few years back. 😄

My friend, i still wish you to be at the forefront of chinretro handhelds. But this is acheiving levels of soulful plucking i cannot handle. Only because you are correct, i now have been inspired to gift my rg35xx to a friend whilst keeping my rg35xxH and miyoo mini plus for myself. I could have had 3 devices, whereas now it is a moral obligation to gift my og rg35xx to my friend who is nostalgic about their gba games, who yet doesnt understand this space enough to appreciate them, but i know he too will turn, irresistibly. I cant sit in good conscience knowing my nostalgia starved brother is need. After gifting i shall indeed use a link to purchase another handheld in due time, perhaps a rg28xx, if and when you review it. Just about when my itch gets too intense for my scratch. This is all your fault vlad, may you be supreme ruler of retro handheld entertainment/information based channels, but, damn you vlad, damn you.

Biggest problem with those devices, as far as I understand, is that pretty much all of them run on Li-Po batteries which are gonna be hella degraded in 2-3 years with normal use. I have a Redmagic 6S Pro phone, had it for 2.5 years, and its Li-Po battery is like 65-70% of its capacity these days, even though I used charge separation with heavy gaming. If those retro devices' batteries are standard, easily bought and replaced this is a non-issue though.

Out of the 33 Handhelds that Anbernic released from 2017-2024, there are 20 that can be considered outdated (eWaste?), because they have older, slower Chipsets AND smaller Batteries. The Battery drainage when turned off is the REAL problem, that you SHOULD investigate for a FOLLOW-UP Video, because no one does it, my dear friend.

I had my RGB30 lost on customs hell, so I gave up after a few months of waiting and bought the rg35xx h, but after playing with it for a month the rgb30 arrived. Now I'm torn, I love the rgb30 with all my heart, it looks and feels amazing, and the screen makes it my favorite, but it doesn't fit comfortable in my pockets, and since I mostly play while commuting to work and uni, the size and pocketability of the rg35xx h makes it perfect for my day-to-day usage. When I upgrade I always sell the old one. I remember Taki talking about seeing the waste run off at the Retroid factory from the colouring process used within the transparent shells, he said that it just went into some farmland next door. So then I decided I wouldn't buy the transparent sort, but I've still given my money to a company which practices such disregard for the environment. There are no innocent bystanders when it comes to the environment and it's care. It's fantastic that you made this video to talk about this issue, thank you.

Between my two brothers and me we share:
    - 2 Nintendo Switches
    - 4 Nintendo 3DS
    - 2 Nintendo DS
    - 1 Gameboy Color
    - 1 PlayStation Vita
    - 3 PlayStation Portable
and now got myself a RG35xxh after watching your vids as my Daily Driver... I do feel kinda guilty....
    Buuut my jsutifications are:
    - Nintendo Switches, are in frequent use with alot of docked gameplay
    - Nintendo 3DS, over the many revisions the collection has grown and it's the most "modern" console we can play as three on the go (only 2 Switches)
    - Nintendo DS, during Corona I got my hands on alot of broken ones and fixedd/modded them, now there are 2 left (one semi-broken) and they are the best way to play DS games
    - 1 Gameboy Color, my first video game console that I go on the flea market and my favorite way to play my 3 cartridges
    - 1 PlayStation Vita, got a broken one and fixed it to become my daily driver... then I got a RG35xxh
    - 3 PlayStation Portable, my first new video game console and when the prices where really low before Corona I got my brothers their own so we can play on the go
So I think It was maybe unnecessary to get the RG35xxh when I already fixed the PSV, but I caved and got the RG35xxh for around 30€...

Yep I have probably too many. Split between mine and my girlfriend's house. I use different handhelds for different games. but hep I have 12 of them. I also spend one day a month going through each of them and ensure they charge etc. I also have one I take camping :) I also gave one to my son but he now has two of them as he wanted a better one to play psp games. He loves the RP2+ for it.

Gift some of them, then buy new ones from the links in my description. This is the way of keeping everyone happy, including me. 😄

Это хлам. Иметь больше трёх таких устройств ненормально, одумайтесь

Они всё ещё несовершенны. Кривая операционная система, отсутствие своего дизайна, слабое железо, неактуальные игры. Купите съёмный геймпад

I Didn't have any of these devices a decade ago but in 19 or 20 I bought a emulator called the Pocket Go I liked it but I wanted to play Snes and PlayStation 1 game upgraded to the original RG350 then got the 351P & V fast forward to June 2024 I got 12 of these just got the 35XXSP 2 days ago I feel targeted in this video I swore after the 353M that was it I wasn't getting any more of these handhelds but here we are I just enjoy how awesome these devices are and they kinda feel like backups for my physical hardware and software collection if something happens I'm not totally screwed even if I don't play em as much after awhile it's good to know I got something to play with in waiting I only bought the 28XX cause it looks like the Pocket Go and I got all nostalgic over these thing.
