The next owner is in for quite a shock.
When I lived in south west London in the 70's & 80's there was one of these slowly rotting away outside a house not far from me.
Elderly widow wouldn't sell it as it was bought new by her deceased husband.
Same colours as this one.
In the 8-5yrs I lived there it just disintegrated away.
Was in a carport but mice had made a home in the soft top and it used to get the weather all the time..shame. .
Absolute shame.
Low budget? I guess it depends on what low budget is. Beautiful car & shows well. I wish it were mine.

Let's just hope the owner will not try to sell it as first grade restored car. Lawsuit in the near future...
Marc René Yvon On what basis can owner be sued if he does sell the car for high price? Buying a car is always a risk, and I've never heard of a law that protects buyer from things like cheap restoration.
A beautiful perfect bare metal restoration without any filler anywhere
What did they do to the chrome? My understanding is that it is very expensive to restore chrome. Like tens of thousands of dollars for all the pieces on these old Mercedes.

People did substandard restorations on the 190SL because, until recently, they weren't worth anything. Thirty years ago you couldn't give these things away.
Not true. I look at one 30 years ago, and they were expensive.
Im never gonna buy an old car. Unless I find it in the woods.

A little bit like a rolling restoration in my opinion. Reasonably affordable. It's O.K. as long it will not be offered as a fully restored car.

Bondo over rust, that is low low budget.
Give it 6 Months that Bondo is gonna crack and bleed right thru paint!!

Vorsicht! Das sieht sehr nach einer Blenderrestsurierung aus.
Es ist immer ein absoluter Warnhinweis wenn man sich die Schweller ansieht und die beiden senkrechten "Sicken" im Schweller nicht zu sehen sind.
Das ist irgendwie nur zugespachtelt worden...
Auch ist nicht zu erkennen was wirklich mit dem Motor, speziell mit der Vergaseranlage gemacht wurde.
Ich würde das Auto nicht kaufen!!
15 000 Euros is a low budget? Damn boy, I can buy my car 10 times for that money. Also I can make a proper rally car from my one for that budget.
