Begode thermal mat issue solution for Master and Master Pro

- I had a Begode Master fail on me the other day. I inspected it and discovered that the thermal sheet wasn't making contact with the mainboard tray. That tray acts as the heat drain for the board. This process with greatly increase the thermal dissipation of the main board for better reliability and life span.

I'm new to the EUC world. About 30 days in. I'm riding the V11, and I'm already saving for my next level wheel. However I no mechanical skills at all, but eager to learn. I enjoy all the content you and your crew(Marty,Dawn,etc.) Put out. Between the 3 of y'all is a Ton of intelligence and experience. Which is good to have when owning these wheels.

That thermal conduction is essential, anywhere under those FET's not serviced and the heat there would rise rapidly.

Those thermal pads are not only heat conductors but also designed to be insulators. Interesting to say the least.
No insulation necessary here.
electrically isolated, thermally transparent. Not really interesting. Lots of plastics do the same thing.
The main thing is to keep the air gaps filled - air is a thermal insulator when trapped - I like them in general for cleanliness and ease of use but if you want the ultimate thermal transfer, use the diamond based paste. One of my kids fixed a *lot* of xbox360 thermal issues just by pulling out lower quality filler and replacing it with the diamond stuff.
why don't more people talk about it? The only reason I looked it up is because I was fixing the controller recently and noticed that this begode master runs hotter than other begode master I have
An issue on more than just the master. The EX30 solution Begode put in place causes high frequency oscillations.
I need to get a lead on where to get the upgraded motor/battery/BMS for my S22 - I haven't seen it for general availability anywhere.
I am going a different route on my slider "upgrades". TLDR I'm using a "tribological" material to rebuild the parts that were made of what I think was the wrong materials.
Longer story: I guessed their goal was to simplify the mechanicals as well as make a slimmer profile on a wheel that was turning out to be super wide; I also have a hunch that adding a bunch more moving parts is ultimately going to lead to long term reliability and maintenance issues. Making the single part linear bearing out of better materials might just make the whole thing work as intended.

Anyone know if this will significantly improve/prevent overheating a master that is otherwise working fine. I will sometimes overheat when going up steep and slow inclines.
Will any thermal paste do or should I get ?
Best to use a non conductive one.... other than that, the crappy ones will do. This doesn't require NASA levels of heat transfer.
i used some fancy thermal mats i have at work instead of paste.. I figured, if the expensive mats i have at work are good for multi-thousand dollar hardware, it's good enough for my Master. 😆
The problem was how compressible the thermal Matt Begode used was. That’s the reason it created the void space in the center of the board.
@@roghaj yea.. it was a standard thermal mat material that was a bit thin to begin with.. I have that stuff at work too.. but used a much thicker mat when I replaced mine, so plenty of material to make contact 😊
Puting your fingers,adding grease on the board pieces is a no no..
