OfficialBri TV yup , exact way. No sweets or candies, i had one cheat day in between these months , and that too it was a simple meal . I also go and workout 5 days a week

It's a great diet but at the same time it's hell if you love bread 😂

mixindave1 . I so miss my homemade sourdough crusty bread. I dehydrated the starter and put it in the freezer. I will be making it for special occasions. Life is short. Keto bread isn’t cutting it for me! Other then that, this is a very tasty diet if you like fat.....and I do. Love eating the skin on chicken and fat on steaks. But a side of buttered sourdough bread would be the topper for me!

Simple rule for keto products - look at macro:
Carbs:
• less then 5% net-carbs = good
• between 5% to 10% net-carbs = in moderation
• more then 10% net-carbs = bad, not keto (although You theoretically might eat small portion, but You should closely track Your macro in this situation).
Veggies are best sources of carbs. Avoid starchy ones: potates, legumes. Best choice are green veggies - lots of vitamin A, C and K. Also magnesium and calcium. Rooty vegetables might be good unless have high amounts of starches. Other than that - peppers are great.
Proteins:
Choose fattier sources of proteins. If You like chicken breast and other light meats then add 2-3 tablespoon of fat (like coconut oil) for every 100g of meat. So, one chicken breast have usually around 200g - You should add about 5 tablespoon of fat to balance macro.
Fats:
At least 60% of macro. Look for meat with that amounts of fat. Bacon is good. Every meat with skin is good. Most fat is accumulated under skin. Giblets are usually good choice - very nutritious and more fat then muscle meat.
Avocado and nuts for snacks.
Generally, most vegetable oils are rubbish. High omega 6 content, small amounts of omega 3. The best is coconut oil. Quite good is palm oil, but not hydrogenated. Rapeseed oil is kinda ok, but polyunsaturated fats easily gets spoiled. Olive oil is best choice for monounsaturated fats - consumed in cold form. Animal fats are all good. Best is butter. For frying - ghee butter because of high smoke point. Hydrogenated vegetable oils are pure evil. Margarine is no-no - stay away.
Organic is a fad trend. Organic doesn't assure high quality of end product. Organic is only method of production, not classification of product quality. You can buy worse organic products than from "standard" method of production.
No, don't look for free range eggs. Look for eggs from grass & insect fed chickens. It'll provide rich amounts of omega 3 in eggs. Chicken fed on grains have higher amounts of omega 6 (proinflammatory). Chicken might be free range, but still have grain based diet.

Hehe... My favorite keto-friendly drink is Ocean spray diet cranberry juice with New Amsterdam Peach flavored vodka. I merely "pauses" ketosis while the alcohol is in your system, but you go right back in once its worked it's way out within a few hours.

4 months on keto and I've lost 17kg (37 lbs) started at 100kg (220lbs), I was actually quite shocked at how easy it really is, especially after the cravings for crap food goes away! Half way to my target weight, when I get there I will start to get back to a more "normal" diet but will definitely steer clear of fast food and sugary drinks. Another bonus is my old clothes fit me again, it's like I got a whole new wardrobe!
Yes keto and if is the best way to go I was so addicted to sugar and processed carbs the habit was hard to break I haven't had sugar or processed carbs in a month and don't even crave them I have so much energy my appetite has decreased I can go hours without eating I have lost 15 pds in one month my goal is to get under 200 pds I just need more motivation to get there
Yolanda, Im very happy for you.. keep your eyes on the goal and Jesus, HE WILL hold your hand to get you there. I have been doing keto for 20 years.. your body gets so use to and seldom gain any weigh if I cheat from time to time with a crossant, etc.

Juicing will rev you up. We started back in April and we feel so much better. My hubby has lost weight but I never seem to be able to unless I only eat once a day PLUS walk at least two and one half miles every day.

I lost 12 pounds during my first 6 days of keto. I eat a lot of fish/steak and salad, as well as a lot of eggs, cheese and turkey bacon! I found 0 cal 0 carb 0 sugar coffee syrup at homegoods. Trader joes has a lot of keto friendly options!!! Its not as hard as people think it is. Green beans actually have about 7g of carbohydrates per cup while white mushrooms only have about 2.3g of carbs per cup! Other than that great beginner video. I’ve been doing keto for almost a year and it’s such an easy diet once you get the hang of it!

@@reidesuga Sorry - I missed this comment. Typically when people start keto, they get keto flu. Maybe you felt the symptoms of this? It usually goes away after a few days, but it's recommended to drink plenty of water and supplement electrolytes to get past this quickly.
Best to look at it not as a diet but as a lifestyle change, much like going vegan. This way you completely invest and not just for a short term weight loss fix ! There are so many delicious recipes it's not hard to make the change!

Down -98 lbs...took a month off, did maintenance by adding 1 more keto meal and increased carbs. STILL UTILIZING INTERMITTENT FASTING. I'm learning what my limits are. Hyperinsulinemia is a tough one...its doable though.

I have been on keto diet since January 2019 and here are the things that work for me:
1. Prepare yourself for the big change. I decided to go keto 2nd January 2019 and was reducing my carb intake the first two weeks. 14 January 2019 was my official keto diet start.
2. Variety, variety, variety! I designate which vegetables are considered as breakfast, lunch, or dinner to maximize nutritional value and avoid boredom.
Breakfast: avocado, rucula, spinach
Lunch:
leafy vegetables-iceberg, romaine, little gem, frisee, red/green lolo, kale, etc
Cabbage: red, green, flat
Olives: green and black
Tomatoes: different varieties and can be both fresh or sundried
Cheese: feta, parmesan, etc
I make salad out of different vegetable combination, different cheese, different protein, different dressing.
Dinner: mushrooms, zucchini, asparagus, salad
3. Know the rules so you know what to do when you're breaking a few of them.
For example: I add carrots on my lunch salad because I like the crunch and color. It amounts to 10-15 grams, so I'm still on track on my total daily carb intake.
I do the same with tomatoes.
4. Listen to your body. Dr Berg says you should only weigh once per week, but I weigh everyday. This is my way of keeping track of my progress.
I'm on constant monitoring mode after a social meal with family and friends and do intermittent fasting afterwards.
5. You can give in to cravings with an alternative. I solve my sweets craving by eating Greek yoghurt, unsweetened jam, nuts, coconut shavings, chia seed, etc.
6. You feel empowerment. Looking at rice, pasta or cake reminds me that they're just empty calories, so they're not as tempting as they used to be.
The hunger pangs are gone, and it is easier to incorporate IF on keto.
Lost 8 kgs now on my 11th week!

A gallon of water. Welp. I definitely don't hit that goal. I'd be in the bathroom all day.
I easily surpass 1 1/2 gallons per day and don't spend all day in the bathroom but it did seem like a lot at first... after awhile everything levels out.
