Thanks for the video. Darlington fan here. Absolutely loved Feethams and miss it badly. All our troubles started when we left there. We were embarrassed to be rattling around in the Arena. And also sad that all the tradespeople who built it hardly got anything out of it. Feethams had its issues: capacity, access, sharing with the cricket club, the proximity of the river/water table resulting in the pitch often flooding, but it felt like home and could have been developed further. Anyway, that’s history and although our troubles aren’t over, at least we still have a football club to support ⚫️⚪️⚫️

Thanks for watching. I were recently in Darlington back in January to watch them against Hereford where they got their first home win in three months.

My adopted dad always took me to these games. It was the best atmosphere ever. Even the darlington under 5s spray lads football team had a go.

As a lad, I went to most the home games for many years. I missed a few goals when changing ends at the beginning of the first half when the away team chose to change ends!

Thanks for watching. I recently did a vlog at their "newer" ground Blackwell Meadows.

I'm a Middlesbrough supporter but went with my friend and his family, who were Darlo season ticket holders at the time, play Hartlepool in 2002. The match ended up 1-1 but thoroughly enjoyed it there.
I'm enjoying the videos and would be nice to see a video of my beloved Ayresome Park. Keep up the good work mate.

I wondered when you'd get 'round to Feethams.
We once watched part of a cricket match at the adjacent ground with our striker, Martin Cameron's parents, before watching Rovers away there.
I'd heard that the body was found, following a grisly local murder, in the lane behind the open terrace and it made me shudder as that's the way we had to walk to the away section.

I was going to do Feethams eventually. I just think there was more of a demand to do the others first.

I don’t understand why the new stadium is empty. Surely it is better for the newco to use it to generate some sort of money. I hate what happened to Darlington. I hope it never happens to another club. I used to live in the North east and visited the old ground. Great pies and oxo at half time.

They did have a Rugby union team play there for awhile and some concerts have been there also. During Covid it was used as a vaccination centre.

Gigg Lane isn't a 'Forgotten Football Ground' though, is it?
Let's hope Bury return there in the not-too-distant future too.
What I don't get is why the Nevilles didn't step in to save the club with which they have family connections, rather than ploughing funds into 'The Ammies' (Salford City)?
