I flew with BA in 2001 (FRA-BKK via Heathrow). The crew were awesome: Friendly, polite, professional and it seemed, they really loved their job. I flew BA again in 2013 and was shocked to see how much the airline changed. I am glad to have found this video on CZcams. It shows the good old days at BA with Simone and Dallas. Two great persons :-)
Wow Dallas. You got to be working in the upper deck of the Queen of the Skies. It must have been magical, working up in the upper deck, with a great view of the magical RB211 engines.
Ah, such happy memories. Glad I got to fly in those times; so sad for the way things have gone for my colleagues still flying the skies. I remember you training the "new" Club seats/service way back when, Dallas. You were such an asset to the company.
In my 25 years as crew here in the US(4 at my 1st airline, 21 with the present one), so many changes, some good, mostly bad, as with the industry in general. The company I began with is gone belly-up, my 2nd company merged with another, and now it’s just a job. Don’t know how long I’ll continue to do it, but as the industry goes, I’ll go with it until I’m ready to move in to something else.
@@brownbear1657 I was with World Airways in 1997-98. The went bankrupt in 2012, years after I left. Left to go to Northwest Airlines in 1998, which merged with Delta in 2008. Still working there
So much different nowadays 😕 these days are only 18 or 19yrs old you see , imagine when an emergency happen , they will cry themselves in a loo . These old cabin crew are more mature and professional
When the BA was still the world's favourite airline, by the way Dallas what year this was filmed? Guessing by the uniform it must be pre-2003? Where could I get more videos like this?
Great memories Dallas. Please keep this video here don’t remove it. These were the happiest times for sure. I was WW CC at Ba from 1994 to 2020, and the best times were curiously the rod eddington years (1998-2007j and also perhaps 2012-2015 …
Thanks Alex, I ended up as a CSD and resigned in 2016. I hate them now and they hate me. They banned me from flying on their fleet of toxic aircraft for 10 years 😂
Oh well you now , I followed you just 3 years later. There is a much different and new life outside . My body was saying no to any more flying anyway. Sick all the time at the end…. Glad to know you’re stil kicking and enjoying life. 😅
What career did you choose to move on to? I was a Flight Attendant (Cabin Crew) for two different Rwgional Airlines in the USA. Between the two Airlines I worked For I worked as a FA for 4 years January 1994-February 1998 then I worked for Amtrak as an Onboard Service Attendant for 20 years.after I left Amtrak I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I’ve been a CNA for little over 3 years now
I am the World’s Favourite Comms Engineer now working in the Broadcast Industry. Television production has had to adapt to the challenges of COVID-19 and social distancing. I hate flying now, I avoid it wherever possible and I’m banned from travel on BA for 10 years because they are vile facists and don’t like having their fortunes told
@Dallas McIntosh I don’t care for flying anymore either. When I worked for Amtrak (the Passenger Railroad here in the U.S.) my monthly hourly guarantee was 190 hours a month and was on the road more with Amtrak than working for an Airline. I liked Amtrak far better than the Airline industry. However, I hit a point where it was time to move on. Sorry t hear that you’ve been banned from BA
@@dallasmcintosh blimey! Do you mind sharing what happened? My friend got fired from BA because her abusive ex boyfriend made up malicious lies about her. She even warned them and showed them texts he sent threatening to do so and they still fired her without question!
Lauren H it’s a long story and I need to keep my head down a little as there is a huge surprise coming for them in the coming weeks but the story will come out 😎
Simone Fuchs, she might be half British, half German... as she has zero accent in neither language... also note that her car isn't a British model ;-) ... my assumption would be she was brought up bilingual... still impressive I agree
@@L1011Lover I was going to say the same thing, she seems to speak German very well (although I don’t speak it myself). She’s definitely a native English speaker, and her accent is predominantly Australian with a hint of English.
Totally agree. My last 4 years there, 2017 to 2020, were total hell. My body was saying STOP (excessive fatigue, sickness…) and management were really turning low-cost nasty on the pax, the entire workforce, and the crew. The crew started to feel let down, unhappy, and more and more indifferent to one another. No more drinks downroute, no more room parties, nothing. The mood had turned sour, like a day and night diff with those years on this video. I have even witnessed true nastiness of one crew against another, something I would have never seen before.

Brought back wonderful memories especially as I was one of the crew!I flew for 35 years before retirement in 2009.So many fond memories.
The 747 is truly the pinnacle of flying.
Fab video and so well made! Proud of you.
Happy days.. great video Dallas, the Compass Centre brings back memories . Hope you’re well Paul
Paul Ham thanks mate..... Oh my, how I loved working as crew back then. Hope you are well too my friend 😎

great job !!
well done on this one especially that the 747 is now retired.
4 days !!! How times have changed
Indeed, now (for long haul) it's more like 24-27 hours, if one is lucky. :)
Looks superb to work for BA before!

I think it was in 2000
I joined in 2004 to 2007 and think I got the tail ends of some good bits, but it was sooo expensive to live in London and I couldn't afford it.

These were definitely the best years tho. The Rod Eddington years. Relative peace and they left us alone. Overall.

What year was it recorded

I flew with her quite a few times whilst still at the compass centre, great fun she was…. ! but after we moved to T5 I never saw her after that.
Wonder if Dallas has the Internet?
yeowart he certainly does! In fact he’s a keyboard warrior these days 😎
