- Hi everyone! Today’s we have a new Morissette Amon Reaction for Moon River - Usahay mashup which is available on her channel. Morissette Amon is the artist who started it all for me on CZcams so I keep coming back to her to revisit her catalog even after I have incorporated several other artists to the channel already. Morissette is singing in her native tongue Cebuano. Usahay means “Sometimes” in Tagalog we say “Minsan”.
"Usahay" meaning "Sometimes" in Visayan dialect, sung by our legendary national artist, Ms. Pilita Corales (dubbed Asia's Queen of Asia) many decades ago. It's a very popular Visayan song. Both of these artists are from Cebu, the queen city of Southern Philippines. Whenever Morisette sings, you'll be assured that she gives justice to the song. Amazing!🤗🎶

Usahay is a very beautiful Visayan song. A dialect of Mori, one of the dialects here in the Philippines. Cebuano dialect in which the most perfect grammar in the world much better than English language..

Usahay is a Visayan word for "Sometimes." Visayan is one of the many local languages in the Philippines. Born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines, it is actually Morissette's true native dialect (not Tagalog/Filipino). So proud of her singing this timeless, classic, Visayan song.
English translation:
"Usahay nagadamgo ako nga ikaw og ako nagkahigugmaay."
(Sometimes I dream that you & I fell in love (again).)

Good choice for using FILIPINO so technically you are correct. It's actually one of the many dialects in the Philippines, Bisaya but I can't specify which one as I don't speak it.

It is a classic love song, a serenade from 1960's. The composer (from Tagum City, Philippines) created the song for the love of his life who eventually became his wife.

The Philippines consist of 7,100 islands and has over 100 different dialects. The majority of singers there including morissette didn't start with any kind of formal training most are self taught by mimicking favorite singers later on she had coaches her father Amoy was the one who taught her once he noticed her talent at 3 yrs of age. Usahay is a Song in Bisaya (from Visayas, the 2nd of the 3 big groups of islands in d Philippines; Luzon is d upper part, then Visayas at d middle, then Mindanao is at d bottom) Bisaya actually is d one used by most of Filipinos as Mindanao also speak Bisaya) Tagalog is used by most of those in Luzon. So Morissette’s 1st Language is actually Bisaya as Cebu City is in Central Visayas.
