We did it again! The USA taught the world about sportswear again. Now the world looks the same. Sneakers. Crocs. Sweatpants. Track suits. Crocs. Tshirts. Yoga pants. I see people wear things like that to weddings and funerals. We're such a classy bunch!

No one forces people to dress like that. The truth is : people love to dress lazy.

@@hqrlock I said taught, not forced db. You said it better than i did. The USA are lazy f"s all looking for a handout. Used to be people too pride in how they looked and conducted themselves. Now they just want a handout. Lazy America. Of course we all find sweats more comfortable, doesn't mean I would show up to a funeral in them. I leave that classy move to the lazytown america

An Era is always defined by the clothes we wear. It is always the first impression that we all know what century we're in. The pictures without words can deduce an Era. Thank you sir for this vlog.

Dressing the Man is an excellent read and very educational. It answered many of the questions I had about why classic men's wear is the way it is. Why everything is the shape and size it is and why ties and why, why, why. Answered them all. Fantastic book

The sports jacket at 6:00 that guy on the left is wearing after tennis should be sold today as an office jacket. I like how the arms and shoulders are not structured too much. You can wear it at your desk to keep you warm in a chilly office. It gives you maximum movement more like a sweater.

I would argue that sportswear didn’t originate in the US. Think British polo players and cricketers in the mid 1800s. A certain M Lacoste. I’m sure other countries have something to say as well

You know you are so deep and into menswear when you realize a dinner suit and a tuxedo are two separate things, when you understand from a historical standpoint why people changed into evening clothes.
What Kirby and You and Me and Alan dress like is a completely different ball game of menswear than what most men, even stylish men, don’t know about. Baseball culture and football culture are both very broad and have different histories and different fan bases and that’s like Traditional menswear, what Kirby and Alan are, and modern or twenty-first-century menswear, what most men are into.

Alan might be the author of one the most important book about classic menswear... but he dresses very poorly. It seems like he learned all the rules to find the best possible way to break them. The picture with his tracksuit is particularly disgusting. The way he kind of promotes NYC people mixing beautiful clothes with garbage clothes to be cool ("insider chic") is disturbing. We were counting on men like him to fight this degeneracy, not embrace it. He's badly dressed in this video and he was badly dressed in the other one.
It was disturbing to hear him talking about how high waisted pants fit better while wearing low waist pants with a very unaesthetic belt making his belly pop out in an almost indecent manner. It's as if he thought "see, I should wear pants like this and do that to be elegant, so I'm gonna do the exact opposite to be edgy and look as fat and messy as possible, so that people think "wow he's a fashion legend and look like total shit, that's SO cool !" "
His colleague from the other video, (John ?) was dressed exceptionally well on the other hand.
