    J. Vernon McGee was the first expository teacher I regularly listened to when I first came to Christ in 1981. And today, decades after he has gone to Paradise, the Lord is STILL blessing me -- US -- with the plainspoken, powerful preaching of this wise man of God. Thank You, Lord, for preserving the legacy of Dr. McGee and allowing his life's work to edify the church across the globe even still!

      I heard him on Christan radio KTIS in Minneapolis when growing up in the 60's/70s. I remember my mother ironing in the kitchen and remember J Vernon McGee preaching. Then while I was in college, I lived with my grandmother who also listened to him. This is good old-fashioned solid Christian Bible teaching that the world needs to hear now! I'm drawn back to it now and thoroughly enjoying it. I've been sharing these videos with my kids.

    I always look at Dr. Mcgee at times, using a modified version of the Apostle Paul's approach. He would try to break barriers from many different beliefs, so he could win souls for Christ and give glory to God. His humble but informative preaching of the word of God, always seems to and still does hit the right note, with regards to Bible study. A truly remarkable man of God.

    And *the serpent said* unto the woman, *Ye shall not surely die*
    {Genesis 3:4}
    Man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
    ...
    So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their *sleep*
    O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, *until thy wrath be past* that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
    If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
    👉till my change come.
    ...
    His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
    {Job 14:10, 12-14 & 21}
    And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my *flesh* shall I see God.
    {Job 19:26}
    Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
    {The Preacher 9:10}
    Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
    His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
    {Psalm 146:3-4}
    Then said his disciples, Lord, if he *sleep* he shall do well.
    Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
    Then said Jesus unto them plainly, "Lazarus is dead."
    {John 11:12-14}
    ...
    Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection
    👉at the last day.
    Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet *shall* he live:"
    {John 11:24-25}
    But go thou thy way till the end be: for *thou shalt rest* and stand in thy lot *at the end of the days*
    {Daniel 12:13}
    But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof *thou shalt surely die*
    {Genesis 2:17}

    And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha *into ashes* condemned them with an overthrow, making them *an ensample* unto those that after should live ungodly;
    {2 Peter 2:6}
    Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are *set forth for an example* suffering the vengeance of *eternal fire*
    {Jude 1:7}
    --Question: is Sodom still burning?
    And ye [the saints] shall tread down the wicked; for *they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet* in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
    {Malachi 4:3}
    Thou [satan] hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and *I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth* in the sight of all them that behold thee.
    {Ezekiel 28:18}
    Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such *the second death* hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
    {Revelation 20:6}
    And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. *This is the second death*
    And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
    {Revelation 20:14-15}
    What do you imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
    {Nahum 1:9}

    I "grew up" as a young Christian (1975 -95) listening to the "teachings" of Dr. McGee. He pretty much preached the TYPICAL "evangelical" doctrines, which were also taught in my home town of Dallas, TX, at Dallas Theological Seminary. I took what he said as "gospel truth", in essence McGee was my "guru".
    However, I am now a mature man of 65 years of age, with many years of STUDY of the Word of God and have come to understand that Dr. McGee was in error in many of his "interpretations" of Scripture. Pertinent to this statement is the IDEA or NOTION that Christ "told" his disciples of SOMETHING NEW.
    Well, Jesus was NOT telling his disciples "something new"; the disciples were quite aware of the Scriptural meaning of "the Kingdom of God" or "the Kingdom of Heaven". They, along with all of BELIEVING Jews, were awaiting the ESTABLISHMENT of a LITERAL "Kingdom of God" ON EARTH.
    All Jesus was telling his disciples was that he (after his death and resurrection) was "going to the Father" who IS IN HEAVEN and that after "making plans" for POSITIONS, for his disciples, HERE ON EARTH AFTER HE RETURNS.
    How someone can come up with the IDEA that Jesus was TEACHING a going to Heaven to LITERALLY "prepare living spaces" IN HEAVEN for BELIEVERS is INCREDIBLE! If such had been the case, I would take it that at least one disciple would have said, "What's THAT mean?", because Scriptures of the Prophets NEVER speak of such a thing. The disciples were aware of Scripture and anything "NEW" would have stuck out "like a sore thumb".
    If what McGee, et al, is proposing to be true, then disciples, after sitting at Jesus' feet and hearing the "Olivett Discourse" so called, MUST HAVE BEEN THE MOST DENSE HEADED PEOPLE ON EARTH, for they had the nerve to ask Jesus, (Acts 1:6 [KJV])
    When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
    So, Jesus supposedly told them about the "Kingdom" being "in Heaven" and they, according to Acts 1:6, were STILL looking forward to an EARTHLY Kingdom? No. They UNDERSTOOD that Jesus, after doing whatever he needs to do in Heaven, FOR his disciples, will RETURN, "just as he left", in a physical and visible manner, TO EARTH; Terra Firma is where Jesus will establish God's Kingdom, in the New Jerusalem (not the current corrupt one) in the Levant.
    There is no "wolf and the lamb" in Heaven; there are no "asps" in Heaven; there are no "rivers" in Heaven. All of the descriptions about the "Kingdom" have to do with EARTHLY things.
    The HOPE of the Christian is NOT "to go to Heaven", NEITHER after dying NOR at some "Invisible Rapture to Heaven" sometime in the near future (also known as Advent-ism). The HOPE of the Christian according to Scripture ( 1 Tim 1:1 [KJV] Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope...) is NOT "going to Heaven" but rather our HOPE is a Person, the RETURN of Jesus Christ, to gather us unto himself AND after gathering us "in the air/atmosphere", will CONTINUE his descent to Earth WITH us, where we will be with him FOREVER.
    There is reason, as McGee acknowledges, why Heaven is NOT mentioned much in Scripture. It ain't OUR (the believers in Christ) FINAL DESTINY. We are NEVER told to "look forward to Heaven" rather we are told that a "Kingdom" ON Earth will be established here on Terra Firma, in the Levant, in the New Jerusalem, where the "Son of David", the Messiah, Jesus, will rule with an iron rod among the Nations, UNTIL ALL IS RESTORED, DURING HIS MILLENNIAL REIGN, to its created purposes.
    Also, INCORRUPTIBLE and IMMORTAL RESURRECTED bodies are NEEDED in order to live ON Earth. We wait for the Lord's RETURN to give us new bodies, whether we wake or sleep, so that we may ENJOY God's Kingdom ON Earth. The "church" was NOT GIVEN a so called "new hope" of "going to Heaven"; it was given a "Hope in Christ" when he "COMES BACK" ( as the Angel in Acts told the disciples ) to Earth.
    People NEITHER "go to Heaven" when they die NOR will they be "taken to Heaven" when Jesus APPEARS in the air. When people die they "go to THEIR Grave" and IF they were BELIEVERS in God and in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, then they will be RESURRECTED unto life eternal AT Jesus' RETURN to Earth. This is NOT "rocket science" or "brain surgery", it's just "where the rubber meets the road."
    Forget about the Babo-Greco-Roman Philosophy/False Doctrine, taught by Romanism and Jesuitism, of "Souls Going to a Heavenly Paradise". It ain't in Scripture, brother; it's only in Mythology and in the IMAGINATION and heart of Men.

      I agree with you.I think thats "MAN's" problem we are a tiny microscopic speck in Gods universe,and in history.Most people forget this .Some men study the words of God so long they know real truth.
