      @DrWalterSalubro  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi Black Velvet. I can not comment specifically for your without an evaluation of your spine and condition. Generally speaking, with mild disc bulge, there should be an issue. A lot would depend on the pain level and if the disc bulge / herniation condition is active and the source of pain. It is best that you consult with your OB or your doctor or specialist who evaluated your spine and condition. I hope you can appreciate this. Good luck.

      My mri report report is like this
      "lumber lordosis is straightened
      Disc dessication and mild to moderate diffuse disc bulge with posterior central and left paracentral disc protrusion, at l4-5 level indenting thecal sac, attenuating lateral recess, causing compression over traversing nerve root on left side. Axial ap canal diameter ~ 10.1 mm"

    Excellent advice and a safer more gradual way to properly bring the spine into its proper partially curved state. This is better than overly aggressive moves that may sometimes damage vertebrae, discs, or even tear ligaments or nerves that be out of position. Thank you Dr. Salubro

    I have coming and going back issues. What helps is stiff leg dead lifts and back extensions. Also lots of walking. I can’t figure my back out. I can do back strength exercises yet I can get out of a chair quick or shift on my back in bed and it like snaps then I’m in pain for a week. Usually dull general aching but miserable. My lower back can ache then get better in an hour, or it can ache and I stiff leg dead lift 185lbs 4 sets of 10 and it will feel great. I’ll walk 2 hours and it might start to ache but when I’m done it’s always better. Biking long seems to aggravate it.
    So I’m reading my MRI and researched this flat back I have. Now I’m here. I was never a fan of chiropractors for no known reason but you sold me on this one video. I live in Milwaukee and have insurance to go to a chiropractor. Please see if someone is here to treat me.
    Alignment: There is mild apex rightward curvature of the upper and mid thoracic spine without significant vertebral subluxation.
    There is no developmental spinal canal narrowing.
    Discs: Thoracic disc degeneration is mild, greatest within the upper thoracic spine at T2-T3 as well as the lower thoracic spine at T10-T11 and T11-T12.
    Vertebrae: There is a T1/T2 hyperintense hemangioma within the posterior aspect of the T7 vertebral body. Smaller foci of fat deposition are seen elsewhere. Otherwise, vertebral bodies are maintained in height and signal.
    Additional comments: There is a shallow right subarticular disc herniation at T2-3 without cord contact or significant stenosis. Minor posterior disc bulging is noted elsewhere.
    There is no spinal canal stenosis. Mild thoracic facet arthropathy is noted along the concave margins of the curves with at most mild foraminal narrowing. Perineural fat remains at all levels.
    Small bilateral pleural effusions are noted.
    Alignment: There is straightening of the normal lumbar lordosis without significant vertebral subluxation.
    Developmental spinal canal narrowing: There is no developmental spinal canal narrowing.
    Discs: Mild to moderate lumbar disc degeneration is noted, greatest at L5-S1 with disc height loss and disc bulging.
    Vertebrae: Tiny T1/2 hyperintense hemangiomas are noted within the upper lumbar vertebral bodies. Otherwise, vertebrae are maintained in height and marrow signal.
    Distal cord: The distal cord has normal signal. The conus terminates at the interior L1 vertebral level.
    Level-wise findings are as follows:
    L1-L2: There is no significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.
    L2-L3: There is no significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis. Minor disc bulging is noted.
    L3-L4: Disc bulging with annular fissures along the posterior lateral disc margins. There is mild bilateral facet and ligamentum flavum thickening. No spinal canal stenosis is seen. Foraminal narrowing is minimal bilaterally. There is residual circumferential perineural fat.
    L4-L5: Bulging disc with shallow superimposed left central disc herniation. There is an associated annular fissure at this location. Spinal canal is patent. Posterior lateral disc bulging contributes to mild right and minimal left foraminal narrowing.
    L5-S1: Mild disc bulge with posterior annular fissure. There is no spinal canal stenosis. The foramina are widely patent.

    I've seen chiropractors for years. Every time I'd go in they'd say I'm twisted and my pelvis is twisted. I would get adjusted, it would level me out for a few days and then I'd be back to how I was. Saw Surgeon, had MRI which showed L5-S1 degeneration, central bulge, annular tear and straightening of lumbar spine. 2 sets of injections relieved for 3-4 weeks. Surgeon has recommended fusion to restore lordosis. I have tried everything PT, 3 Chiros, Rest, so I don't think my problem is ever going away without surgery. This is a good video and nice to see a chrio with a balanced view.

    Thanks Doctr..you have made it easier for us to understand. Please I have another question. Why does the X-ray report say normal finding but also indicate straightening of the lumbar and cervical spine due to muscle spasm and you are have symptoms most doctors will say it’s nothing serious and am having tingling and burning sensations

    • @DrWalterSalubro
      @DrWalterSalubro  Před rokem +1

      I don't know the radiologists sayus normal xray but straightening of lumbar and cervical spine. If you look at the spinal and biomechanicla published peer review research, you will note that there is nothing normal about a straightended lumbar spine or straightened cervical spine. Also, research shows that loss of cervical lordosis or straight cervical spine is NOT due to muscles spasm. See the study here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27761195/. If you have an opportunity, go see a corrective care chiroprator trained and certified in CBP that understands these concepts well. Hello doctor! Thank you for taking the time to get this information out there. Hypothetically speaking, if someone had a flattened spine and rested with a "lumbar pillow" would that grant them these benefits of spinal correction?

    • @DrWalterSalubro
      @DrWalterSalubro  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Zach. The answer is no. A lumbar pillow can not induce enough extension in the mirror image position to create the ligament changes that are needed for spinal correction. You would need special equipment that is found in a Chiropractic BioPhysics doctor's office or a special spinal orthotic called a Lumbar Denneroll. I show both inside this video.

    Thank you for covering this. I have been having so many issues past few months. First pain in my legs with every step and they were not cooperating right like I couldn't walk normal and were stiffening in my knees. For some days it was hard to stand more than 30 secs without excruciating pain so I had to use my walker alot of Jan and I'm only 33 and have it for standby. It's the roller kind with a seat.
    In Feb I had alot of muscle spasms in my thigh..bottom eyelid and shooting pains in my hands...feet...legs..upper arms and lower back. If I moved certain ways it would trigger my lower back pain. One day I had severe numbness in both legs and later that night only one. Just got my xray results back and I have mild narrowing in both knees and straightening of the lumbar and sacralization of my L5 vertebrae. I havent heard from doc yet but I'm wondering if this is what is causing some of my issues. What do you think will probably be the docs next step if you dont mind me asking? This is great video... I have similar issue but majorly in thoracic area. It's mostly stiff in the mornings. I am from India and have lately started going to a chiropractor. Just wanted to check how much time does it take usually for corrections and what should I do at personal level for thoracic area?

    • @DrWalterSalubro
      @DrWalterSalubro  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hello. In the thoracic region, it's called Straight Back Syndrome. I can not give you a timeline of correction. Also, these types of spine deformities require structural rehabiltion traction. Traditional chiropractic adjustment can not correct global spinal deformities.

  • @globoyflemming
    @globoyflemming Před 2 lety +3

    Just making a comment so people don't repeat the same mistakes as me... Like this Dr. Walter shows and explains, there is a NATURAL CURVE to the lumbar spine. If you go online for videos or even look to doctors in your area as I have, sometimes they don't realize or see the curve the spine is supposed to have and they have you straighten your lower spine and "tuck your chin and elevate your head". That's going to just cause more problems so I highly recommend this Doctors advice and apply the same prinicpal of your spine having natural curves to your thoracic and Cervical spine also. No spine is straight, it's meant to curve and not understanding this earlier has caused me so much pain and other issues (breathing issues, headache issues etc...)

    • @DrWalterSalubro
      @DrWalterSalubro  Před 3 lety +2

      The Lumbar Denneroll does do extension traction of the spine and is a home version of in office extension traction that we do with equipment. Handing over the edge of a couch does not give the same traction as a Denneroll or in office extension traction. You need a fulcrum point and the patented peak shape of the Denneroll offers that.

The Chiro said he'd have me turning my head like an owl. However, I have DDD in my neck so how is this possible with just adjustments and no stretching exercises or traction? I don't think it is. I've never heard of Chiro Bio until today and it involves a lot more work with the patient rather than just cracking a few bones for 5 minutes and coming back for a few more cracks once per week. Impressive.

      Hello. We follow a care plan guideline, usually starting with a 12 week program of 30 to 36 sessions of corrective care. Then we retake an xray and measure the outcome of the corrective care. If more correction is possible, a second course of care may be recommended. Once maximum improvement has been achieved one may continue to do maintenance care or continue with home traction for maintenance. I hope you can appreciate that this is a general guideline and it is always individualized for the patient.
