My house was on the corner of Hoover & 45th ST in South Central LA, the duplex building was bright sun yellow & the front porch was baby blue & pink. The trash cans were never put away so flies were always buzzing the littered corner. The shingles were old and falling off. The fence was so old and rusted that we'd laughed everytime a bar fell off. (it offered no protection) Something I always remember is playing soccer with my neighbor & brothers in the middle of the street, we'd use the conveniently placed trash cans as goal posts. The ball was scared up from the constant skidding on the hot concrete floor. We lived in the worst house on the block but we made great memories. Till this day I'm still searching for a way to be.
