  • Music Producer David Bowes demonstrates the art of music imrpovization, the use of counterpoint and their importance in the solid creation of a non sampling beat. Along with the use of a daw, many beats can be made of one idea alone. It all depends on your choice of interpretation.

    This has been a major function of producers since the inception of sound recording, but in the later half of the 20th century producers also took on a wider entrepreneurial role. These activities comprise record production.

    Im glad yah feeling the video. As for my drum sounds i use a combination of both samples that i cut or drum kits you can find on the internet. If you know how to use the right tools, you can give the right punch and sound to any drum sample. For my melodies and patches i use a combination of different VST plugins- Hypersonic for my guitar, bass and bells, Sampletank 2.o for my strings, orchestra pad, and sytrus for a secondary string pad.

    you can either draw the curves in by hand, by selecting channel pitch on the right of the piano roll..or you can set your snap to "line" and change the pitch with the pitch wheel on your keyboard..it takes practice to get it right.

    On the right side of the bottom half of the piano roll, switch from velocity to channel pitch,,that way you can draw in pitch curves. You can also record pitch curves with the pitch wheel on your keyboard..but i found that drawing them in gives you alot more control.

  • @DavidBowes
    @DavidBowes  Před 17 lety

    Yes you can. You have to download the USB driver for the Fhantom USB port. Google It. After you install it, you go to the midi option is FLStudio and set it to the Fantom USB. Now you when you record, you can record unto the piano roll as midi notes. Do this on a vsti channel. In other words, first insert a VSTi channel, choose the vsti and patch you want from the list, and when you record, you play the melody on the keys.

    Not only that but with hip hop specifically, digital is the way to go just due to the fact that one person creates all the parts, meaning every track or instrument. in essence, its like a live band but all played by the same person at the same time.

    Some of you guy's really need to let go the hate go! I'm Old skool I like musicians and I also like the new school technology, and how it's applied to modern music creation.When you don't adapt to changing times you gets left behind.Thats why alot of musicians are out of work today.Take old school talented musicians and combine that with new school and you have a deadly combo. Remember you can be the best keyboardist or guitarist in the world, but if nobody's buying your shit its just a hobby.

    2 great vsts for synths and natural sounds are Nexus, Pro-53, and Sampletank. Miroslav Philharmonik is great for orchestral type sounds. If you want keyboard sounds like the motif or fantom x, you might want to consider EMagic's EXS-24, which is a sampler vst, and load it with keyboard sounds in wav format.
